Two employees leave Newman, Jill and Kay have it out, and Jack demands his money!
At Newman Enterprises, Phyllis has boxed up her things and is leaving - she tells Nick that part of her life has to be Victor-free. They kiss, and Adam comes up. Nick rolls his eyes, and Adam tells him Victor wants to see them in his office.
In Victor's office, Jack, Victor, and Adam listen as Michael reports that Tucker's deal with Chancellor will hold up. Victor wants to find his Achilles heel. Someone walks in and says they can help with that - it's Cane. Nick arrives, and they all brainstorm about how Cane can get access to sensitive documents and so on. Victor warns Jack not to lose sight of the fact that they're doing this for Katherine, not so he can regain control of Jabot. Jack is insulted and tells him never to question his loyalty to Kay! Everyone leaves but Adam and Nick. Victor asks them if they're ready to get to work. Both of them make suggestions about how to go after Tucker's shares. Victor muses that Adam is right. Nick rolls his eyes. Victor also takes Nick to task for paying a settlement to those who lost money in the Cayman Bank collapse. Nick stands by his decision. Victor tells him he is making the decisions from here on out.
Out in the hallway at Newman, Jack runs into Phyllis and upon learning that she's quit, smirks, and asks if she has a little too much Victor in her life. She replies, "Too little Phyllis." They banter a moment, before Michael asks her to go for coffee. They all get into the elevator.
Michael and Phyllis have coffee at Crimson Lights. They discuss Adam being present at the death of Dr. Taylor, and her leaving Newman. Michael says working for them is bad enough - he can't imagine being married to a Newman. Nick arrives, and Michael takes off. Nick complains to Phyllis that Victor took every idea Adam offered. He laments that Adam just sees him as an obstacle in his way to getting all of Victor's attention. Phyllis muses that life's too short - he should walk away. Nick wants to work with his dad, and he says that means finding a way to work with Adam. He informs Phyllis that he'll beat him at his own game.
Gloria is at the Club ordering lots of expensive food and drinks. Jeff comes in saying he had to find a place to park his new sports car. They discuss the Tucker McCall takeover. Gloria remarks that there is something Tucker doesn't have - friends! Jack walks into the Club and comes over to the table. He reminds Gloria of the legally binding Jabot settlement - he tells her it's time to pay up! Jeff grimaces. Gloria claims that she doesn't have the money, and says Jack doesn't scare her. Michael walks in, and Jack tells him his mother needs some legal advice - she can pay him the money she owes him, or she can go straight to jail!
At Tucker's office, Jill replays the scene in her mind when Katherine found her in bed with Tucker. She tells Tucker that she has to leave, but he wants to show her the results of the DNA test. Jill reads them, and snorts that he is her son. She feels the Katherine is never going to forgive her - she has to find a way to make her understand! Tucker doesn't understand the upset - they've done nothing wrong! Jill frets that Katherine must be feeling horribly betrayed. She walks out.
Brock and Nikki are at the Chancellor Estate. Nikki tells him that she got a message to meet Katherine here - it seemed urgent. She fills Brock in on the DNA results just as Katherine comes in. Katherine rants that she just found out that the most despicable man she knows is her son, and Jill is sleeping with him! Katherine says he not only went after her company, he went after her family too - he wants to obliterate everything she cares about! Brock leaves to confront Tucker, and Nikki urges Kay to sit down. Katherine gets to thinking that Jill was the one who found Jo-Jo - she must have set her up! Nikki muses that Jill only cares about herself. Katherine thought they had truly become family - she's devastated and angry! She vows to never be taken in by the likes of Jill Foster Abbott ever, ever again!
Jill comes into the Chancellor Estate looking for Katherine. Nikki gets in her face, saying she's upset her enough - she's not letting her get near Katherine! Just then, Kay appears and tells Nikki it's alright - she'll talk to her. Nikki leaves. Jill explains to Katherine that when she met Tucker she had no idea he was planning a takeover. She claims that going back to bed with him was just a mistake. Katherine says that's who she's always been! She calls her grasping and pathetic! Jill waits until Katherine has time to cool off, then tries again. She asks if she heard anything she said earlier - this was not about money, and she loves her! Katherine brings up Jill sleeping with Phillip. Jill says she thought they were past that, but Katherine continues, saying that Jill slept her way into this house, and now she's slept her way out of it! Cane comes in as things deteriorate. Jill takes off, insisting that they're not finished. Kay says they are!
Brock arrives at Tucker's office. They spar for a few moments. Tucker remarks that he conquered Katherine. Brock informs him that now it's time for him to get to know his mother!
Jill and Cane go to his house. He quizzes her on her involvement with Tucker McCall. She throws up her hands and says she had no idea about the takeover until it happened! Cane asks her again, "Jill, are you involved with Tucker McCall?" She reiterates that she did not plot with Tucker to take over Chancellor. Cane asks her how she could side with Tucker McCall over Katherine - how could she do it?
Brock comes back into the Chancellor Estate and softly tells Katherine there is someone there who she needs to see. Katherine agrees, as long as it's not Jill. Tucker steps into the room and quietly says, "It's me." Katherine asks if he has something to say to her. Tucker asks her the same question. She doesn't. Tucker remarks that his time is valuable, and they've wasted it. Brock muses that he had to try. Tucker leaves, and Katherine weeps in Brock's arms.
Nikki sits with Jack at the Club. She tells him about the DNA results and Jill sleeping with Tucker. She says that once Katherine is through with her, Jill will wish she never laid eyes on Tucker - let alone slept with him!
Nick returns to Newman Enterprises with a new proposal. Victor is impressed, and says Adam will see the wisdom in his proposal. Victor compliments Nick on returning with a new idea after he came down so hard on him earlier. He tells Nick they'll work out the details later. Nick leaves, saying, "Cool." Victor calls Adam into his office and warns him to stop competing with Nick and to put the best interests of Newman Enterprises first. He leans across the desk, asking, "You got that?" Victor calls Nick to come back and tells them they're no longer to compete against each other. Victor points out that Adam even tried to best Nick by marrying Sharon. Adam launches into a long speech about how he truly loves Sharon and she understands him. Victor muses that he may have fooled Sharon, but he won't fool him - he tells Adam he'll never trust him! Adam says it's clear that there's only room at Newman and in Victor's heart for one son - he quits - effective immediately! Adam walks out and runs into Phyllis. He tells her he quit, and then gets into the elevator. Phyllis smiles and asks, "Going down?"
