Phillip says farewell, Cane and Billy argue, and Lily's request stuns Mac!
At Crimson Lights, Billy informs Chloe that the only person who matters to him is Mac - she shouldn't flatter herself. Chloe gets a text from Phillip saying something is going on at the Chancellor house and she should come back. Billy decides to go too.

On the patio, Lauren tells Kevin that she called Ryder a rat the day before the wedding - she knows he heard her! It's too much of a coincidence that she then received a rat as a gift! Kevin says he can't believe he would do something so twisted. Lauren feels Kevin's in denial.

Amber and Daniel are excitedly preparing to leave their apartment to go on their honeymoon. They open the door to find Michael there. He tells them that Daniel is once again the main suspect in the murder - he can't leave the state. They all sit down and discuss the ramifications. Michael hints that Ryder won't get off scot-free. Michael leaves and Daniel steps out for some air. Amber sets up a mock Tahiti beach scene in the apartment, which surprises the very tense Daniel when he comes back in. He says they'll make it through this because they have each other. They have their pretend honeymoon in the apartment. After making love, they discuss making every second count. He wants to jump in the car and go somewhere unpredictable and romantic - Michael has their cellphone numbers.

Jill is at Cane and Lily's house waiting for them when they get home from the hospital with Mac in tow. Cane tells her they are planning to have a surrogate baby. Jill is thrilled. Cane then asks if she's spoken to Phillip - he may be going back to Australia. Jill leaves quickly, and Cane brings food to Lily and Mac, saying they both need to keep their energy up. Cane tells Lily he's going to check on Jill. Once he's gone, Lily says she has something important to talk to Mac about - something she can't discuss with Cane. She wonders what will happen to her baby if she doesn't survive - will Mac take care of the child? Mac is stunned - signing up for nine months is one thing, but a lifetime commitment is another. Lily is worried she's made her uncomfortable, or caused her to reconsider being their surrogate. Mac says it's been a long day, and they'll talk tomorrow. She leaves.

Michael goes to Crimson Lights to tell Ryder that he's cutting him loose - he's representing Daniel now. Kevin appears and asks what's going on. Michael says that Ryder is off the hook for the murder, but could be indicted on other charges - but he won't represent him. Kevin is angry, and he and Michael get into it. Lauren asks Ryder what his problem with her is? Ryder says he didn't send her a rat - he doesn't like them. Ryder won't cop to something he didn't do - he says he actually likes her and Michael, but they keep making it so difficult for him. As he gets closer to Lauren, Michael intervenes. Kevin asks Lauren and Michael to leave the premises! Lauren is astounded, but Kevin says he's had enough - no one will cut this kid a break! Ryder makes a call as he watches them leave. He tells the person that Lauren got the present, and they think he sent it - they really jumped the gun!

As Nina tells Katherine that Phillip is going back to Australia in the bedroom upstairs, Phillip breaks the news to Chance in the living room. He tells him he will have to return indefinitely. As Phillip expresses regret, Kay appears and asks, "Then why do it?" Phillip says he has unfinished business to tend to. Chloe and Billy arrive, and everyone waits to hear Phillip's reasons. Phillip asks them to trust him. Nina wonders why he won't tell her. Jill walks in and says, "It's true, isn't it? You're leaving!"

Cane arrives at the Chancellor house just as Jill is calling Phillip 'selfish' for leaving again. Cane informs them that Phillip is not selfish - he's doing this for him - to save his life! Cane explains about the cattle rustlers, and how Phillip is hoping to keep them from coming after the family in Genoa City. Billy asks that Delia be put down for a nap. He then tells Cane to book a ticket and go home! Kay intervenes, saying, "That's enough!" Jill tells Billy to go cool off. Jill, Nina, and Kay turn back to Phillip and debate whether he should go or not. Nina still doesn't think he should leave his son, but Jill says she's very proud of him. Phillip says he's wanted to tell them how sorry he is - for all that could have been - and about not being honest twenty years ago. He laments the lost years.

Upstairs, Chance and Chloe discuss the situation with Phillip. Chloe isn't sure about Phillip risking his life to save Cane. Chance says it's noble what he's doing, but he has realized he likes having him around. Chance is worried that he won't come back. Chloe tries to reassure him.

Cane goes out onto the terrace, and Billy follows him. He confronts him about convincing Mac to have his baby, and about causing his real brother to have to leave because he got mixed up with the wrong people! Billy urges Cane to hit him! Cane warns Billy not to ever portray him as a madman who endangers those he cares about. Billy says he hurts everyone. Chloe listens as Cane tells Billy that Mac volunteered to have their child because she's a good person who likes to do good things. He says it's his own fault he's alone and miserable. Cane goes inside, and Chloe approaches Billy. They sit down, and she says he had a point - if it weren't for Cane, Phillip wouldn't be leaving and making everyone upset. She invites him to come in and say goodnight to Delia, but he asks for a moment. He thinks about Mac, and she suddenly appears.

Inside, Cane says his goodbyes to everyone and leaves. Katherine remarks on how close Cane and Phillip are. Jill says they owe him an apology too - they never really gave him what he needed when he was younger. Phillip assures them that he'll come back. Chance comes into the room, and the others leave them alone. Chance tells his father that he now knows that what he's doing is right. He calls Phillip 'Dad' and embraces him. Phillip exhales and says, "Oh! I love you, Son!" Both have tears in their eyes. Nina, Katherine, and Jill all say their final goodbyes too. Phillip walks out the front door with Nina and Chance. He tells Nina he loves her so much, and they share a hug and kiss. Chance asks his father to be careful. They take a photo together to hang in Phillip's bar. Nina goes back inside, and Kay and Jill wonder why Billy lit into Cane the way he did. Kay realizes Jill doesn't know about the Mac being the surrogate yet.

Cane returns home. He finds Lily looking sad and asks where Mac went. Lily says Mac went home and she's just tired. Cane hugs her.
