Nikki spills her story, River hatches a plan, and Adam gets caught!
At the prison, River places a call to Eden saying, "Remember what we talked about - what might happen if things get out of hand? I need your help. I'm getting out tonight." He hangs up and swallows some pills.
At Crimson Lights, Eden hangs up from her father, and turns to see Noah approaching. He tries to chat her up, but she is sporting the usual attitude, saying she isn't staying in this lame town, and walks away. Noah seems disappointed.
At home, Michael and Lauren discuss the witness, Howard Sullivan. Michael tells her that he will look good on the stand, and that he feels bad that he doubted River's innocence. He says he's going to call and see if they'll set bail for him. As Michael makes arrangements by cell phone, Lauren takes a call on the house phone. "It's your father," she tells Michael, "He's been taken to Genoa City Memorial!"
At Newman Enterprises, a press conference is underway. Victoria announces Nick's return to the company. The press clamors to talk to him and Victoria!
In their room at the Club, Heather and Adam watch the press conference and he leaps up off of the sofa saying he's sick to death of the Newmans. "I'm going to meet someone that can solve all of my problems!"
Jack kisses Sharon goodbye at home as he leaves for a meeting. Soon after he leaves, the phone rings - it's Nick asking Sharon to come over to meet with him at Newman. She heads right over, and Nick surprises her by saying he's returned to Newman and wants her to come back to work there as well! Nearby, Victoria meets with Nikki. Victoria tells her mother that Heather came to see her - she demands to know what Nikki knows about Mexico. Nikki agrees to spill, but she wants to tell Vikki and Nick together. Nick is still with Sharon, who has reservations about returning to Newman. He says he would like her to be the spokeswoman for Infinity again. She asks if she would be working with him because Jack might not like that. She tells Nick to give her a chance to speak to her husband first. When she leaves, Nick joins Victoria and Nikki, who asks if Heather has been to see him. He asks what is going on. Nikki explains about Walter Palin being the dead man in the photo. Nick asks if she kept quiet because she thinks Victor may have murdered the guy. Nikki confirms it. Vikki asks her mother if she confronted Victor about her suspicions. Nikki says she did. They ask how Heather got the photo, and Nikki says she has no idea, but Heather told her that the D.A.'s office is co-operating with the Mexican F.B.I. Nick says that he is going to find Michael - he's the only one who knows where Victor is!
Jack arrives at the Club to meet Adam, who is at a secluded table behind some plants. Jack pushes through the shrubbery saying, "I should have brought a machete!" Jack sits down and informs Adam that he has done some research and has settled on a person to do the forgery - Frank Ellis. He calls the guy and tells him his name is Victor and he wants to meet him at Crimson Lights.
Michael and Lauren arrive at the hospital. They are told that River is in and out of consciousness and that they should wait before seeing him. Lauren urges Michael to go meet with the prosecutor to get River out on bail - she'll wait. Eden arrives and begs to see her father. "I need him and he needs me!" The guard asks to see her bag, but she says she's just bringing clothes. He lets her take the clothes items in. Lauren goes in with her, but River won't wake up. When they leave, River opens his hand - Eden has put a bobby pin into it! Outside the room, Eden asks Lauren to let her stay and wait for River to wake up. Lauren agrees and leaves. Inside the room, River works on his handcuffs with the bobby pin! He springs himself and rushes to put the clothes on - he has left a letter for Michael on the bed. As Eden speaks to the guard outside the door, breaking glass is heard. The guard opens the door to see River jumping out the window. Eden grabs her bag and slinks out!
Michael arrives at the Club to meet the prosecutor, asking him to grant bail for River. He presents the new evidence he has, but the prosecutor isn't impressed. Michael presents his corroborating evidence from the document Gloria found. This stops the prosecutor in his tracks and the meeting wraps up. As Michael prepares to leave, Nick comes in and stops him. He tells him the whole story about what happened in Mexico, and that Heather is investigating. Michael says he doesn't know where Victor is - that's the way Victor wants it! He promises to try and convey the news to him if he can find a way.
Jack returns to the Abbott Mansion and phones Adam, telling him that he'll have to take the meeting with Frank Ellis on his own - he's got an emergency at home! Noah comes in and asks Jack if he's got a minute - Jack tells him he's got nothing but time! Sharon comes in and announces that she has been asked to return to Newman Enterprises, making it clear that Nick asked her. Noah leaves the room. Jack tells Sharon he finds it strange that Nick fought tooth and nail for the magazine and then he left! Sharon says he hasn't left the magazine - he's doing both. She tells her husband she won't go to work there if it's going to bother him. As she goes to help Noah in the other room, Jack thinks back to the hug he witnessed between the exes.
At Crimson Lights, a hesitant Adam meets Frank Ellis, who asks, "You Victor?" Adam nods and sits down. The man looks at the diary and says he'll need more handwriting samples. As they are talking money, Heather comes in. The man blurts, "What is this, a set-up?" He explains that she prosecuted him in Chicago! Adam is frazzled as Heather comes over and gives him a kiss! She takes in Frank Ellis and Adam says he's doing a job interview. "Are you applying to be a con artist?!" she asks. Frank and Heather exchange some terse words, and he leaves. Adam tells her he thought the guy was an investment banker. Once she leaves, Adam calls Frank and tries to salvage the deal. The man agrees, and Adam then calls Jack to fill him in. He tells him that Heather recognized the guy, but not for forgery.
At home, Jack hangs up with Adam as Sharon comes back into the room. He tells her she should go back to Newman Enterprises - it's a giant opportunity for her and he would be wrong to stand in her way. He goes to get ice cream to celebrate, and Noah comes downstairs. He asks Sharon if her going back to Newman means that she and his dad are getting back together. He admits that he saw the hug the other night between them. Sharon says it was a friend hug, and that she has a husband. Noah worries that going back to Newman will cause her problems with Jack - he hates Newman Enterprises so much!
Nick arrives back at Newman and tells his mother and sister that he spoke to Michael, but he claims not to know where Victor is, but will try to get a message to him. He says Michael called all of his phones numbers and they've all been cut off. Nikki says they have to help Victor however they can. She notes that the authorities are already watching her. "Why don't I take them on a nice wild goose chase!"
Next on The Young and the Restless:
The authorities turn up at Michael and Lauren's door asking if they know where River Baldwin has gone. Michael blurts, "Gone?!"
Nikki tells her children that they're going to make the authorities think they know a lot more about Victor than they actually do!
Jack asks Cane about his decision to re-formulate the eye care line at Jabot. Cane tells him that times change and if you want to stay competitive you have to change with them!
