Jack and Adam are chased away, Victor goes MIA, Sharon questions Jack!
At the hospital, the Newmans speak to the doctor about Victor's mental state. He tells them he will talk to Victor and assess whether or not he needs to be involuntarily committed.
Inside his hospital room, Victor tells Michael that he is just reacting to Sabrina's death and he will not be committed against his will! Michael gets a call from Lauren just then. She tells him that River is being taken to Ann Arbor that night! Just then, the doctor comes in to see Victor and Michael leaves the room. The doctor explains to Victor that he is a psychiatrist. He asks Victor about being malnourished and dehydrated. Victor says he feels fine now and wants to be left alone. The psychiatrist pulls a stool up to the bed. "There are still some things we need to talk about!"
At the jail, Lauren lobbies the guard to let Eden say goodbye to her father privately. River tells his daughter that Michael and Lauren are good people and she should trust them.
Phyllis arrives at Sharon's place and fills her in on what is happening with Victor. Sharon is surprised and sorry that they are thinking of committing Victor again. Phyllis says that Nick wanted Sharon to speak with Noah about his grandfather. Sharon mentions calling Jack and Phyllis tells her that her husband may not be where he's saying he is! She tells Sharon that she called Forrester and Ashley is in Europe. Sharon says it's possible the receptionist was mistaken and Phyllis says she's sure Sharon will uncover the mystery. After Phyllis leaves, Sharon calls Jack and leaves a terse message for him to call her. She then places a call to Forrester, but Noah interrupts and she hangs up. She tells Noah that his grandfather is in the hospital. Noah says he's calling Nick! When he doesn't get him, he wants Sharon to take him to the hospital, but she refuses. He demands that she tell him what's really going on, so she explains about his depression. Noah leaves the room and Sharon goes straight for the phone. "Ashley Abbott please...I see. Do you know if she's been in L.A. recently?" She hangs up and then phones Jack again, telling him it's urgent!
In Mexico, Jack and Adam sit at the table in the bar. They discuss returning home without finding out who the dead man is, and Jack decides to call out, "Anyone here know who Tony Amato is?" The bartender strides over and smashes a bottle angrily on their table. "Get out! The bar's closed!" He tells them he doesn't want them snooping around - it's bad for business. Jack says he suspects the bartender knows something and offers money. The bartender takes that money and Jack asks what he just bought. The bartender says he won't break his bones when he throws him out! Jack and Adam beat it.
The psychiatrist returns to the waiting area to speak to Nick, Victoria and Nikki. He tells them that he feels Victor is suffering from major depression. He suggests anti-depressants and recommends that he become an in-patient so they can keep an eye on him. He says he'll contact the court about involuntary commitment. They say they'll discuss it and let him know. Phyllis arrives and Nick explains that Vikki feels Victor needs to be committed and Nikki disagrees. Victoria says he won't take care of himself if they let him go back to the Ranch. Phyllis tells Nick she's sorry he has to make this decision. She points out that this time, Victor was hallucinating when he found him - she's afraid next time it might be worse! Nick goes back to talk to Vikki, saying he agrees with her. Nikki warns her kids that they'll regret doing this! As they go to find the doctor, Nikki turns to Phyllis and angrily asks what she said to Nick!
Lauren and Eden wait inside the jail for the guards to bring River by one last time on his way out. Lauren wants to go eat, but Eden refuses to leave. Just then, Michael arrives. Eden immediately presses Michael to do something to help River. Lauren sends her to the vending machine and tells Michael that River is the only family Eden has ever known - and he says he's innocent. Michael sighs and says that he's trying to keep Victor out of the psych ward, and now this! Eden returns just as River is led into the area. Eden starts to cry as she sees him in shackles. Michael abruptly says he has to go! As the guard starts taking River away, Eden goes crazy. River tells her to write him lots of letters! Suddenly Michael comes back in - he has a waiver of the order for extradition. "You're not taking my client anywhere!" Eden weeps with relief!
In Victor's hospital room, Nick and Victoria explain to him that he is suffering from depression and he needs to be monitored. Victoria asks him not to be offended, but they want him to sign himself up for psychiatric treatment. He refuses and says they've overstayed their welcome! Nick reminds him of what he went through when Cassie died - he didn't get help and he should have! The psychiatrist comes in and says they can help him feel more at peace. Victor scoffs. Victoria says she doesn't want to lose him and if he won't do it for himself then could he do it for her. Victor is silent, but ultimately agrees to sign the papers. They offer to go get him some things from the Ranch, and the orderly comes to take him upstairs in a wheelchair. When he's gone, Victoria and Nicholas embrace.
Phyllis is on the phone in the waiting room saying she's been waylaid due to an emergency. When she hangs up, Nikki accuses her of making the emergency worse! Phyllis tells Nikki that she knows full well that if anything happened to Victor, Nick would never forgive himself. Nick and Victoria return to the waiting area just as Adam arrives. He tells them he has every right to be there - Victor is his father too, and it's a public place. Nick and Phyllis move aside and talk and she tells him that Jack and Sharon may be having problems. "Have I told you lately how glad I am that we're not working with them?" Soon, they discover that Victor has gone missing - the orderly who took him away was an impostor! Nick says they should have known he'd never go along with this!
Jack calls Sharon back from a lounge, and weaves a yarn about Ashley having been in Europe but they met in New York to do business. Sharon angrily asks why he never said that before. She demands to know where he really is and who he's with. Suddenly he confuses her by putting Ashley herself on the phone! When Jack hangs up with Sharon, Adam calls and tells him Victor is in the psych ward! He then asks him to hold on. When he returns, he tells Jack that Victor is MIA again. "I have to go!"
