Victoria wants to commit someone, Paul and Heather end up in the emergency ward, Adam plots against Victor!
Down in the Mexican bar, Jack tells Adam that he and Victor have a long and tangled history. Adam says he has scars too. The bartender brings a bottle of tequila and Jack asks if he's seen this man, showing him Victor's photo. The bartender indicates he hasn't. Adam tells Jack that Nikki is the root of all evil - she called the board meeting to have him ousted from Newman. Adam says if it weren't for her, Skye would still be alive! He notes that he would love to see the Newman's get what they deserve. Jack says it just might happen! As they continue to chat, Adam is surprised to learn that Jack and Hope were friends. He tells him that she always stood up to Victor - like the time he wanted her to have risky eye surgery! Adam shakes his head. Jack then recounts how he was once married to Nikki and Victor caused her to fall down the stairs and lose their unborn baby. Adam asks how Victor gets away with so much. Jack says, "Because he can." They go over what they have found out so far, and Jack notes that they need to tie it all together - they can't make it up. Adam asks why not? He suggests it might be lucrative to make up the rest of the story - all they need is to get someone who can copy Victor's handwriting! Jack likes it.
At Crimson Lights, Heather tells Paul that even though the Mexican authorities haven't contacted her office, she still thinks Victor is hiding something. They discuss Adam, and Paul says he was definitely out of line when Victor was in Mexico. Heather accuses him of covering something up for Nikki's sake. Paul denies it, but she persists in thinking something is off with Victor. Suddenly, she becomes dizzy and almost faints again - Paul holds her up!
Victor is in the hospital and the doctors are tending to him as Nick tries to provide information. Nick gets on the phone and tells Victoria to find Mom and get over there pronto! When they arrive he explains about finding Victor at the art gallery. He tells Nikki that Victor said something about getting his life in order - it really scared him. He says he also said that whatever happened in Mexico made things worse! The doctor emerges and tells them that Victor is now in a room asking that he not have visitors. He collapsed because he hasn't been sleeping and is malnourished. Nick notes that his father has done this to himself!
At Michael's house, he rails to Lauren about Jeffrey being the one to turn River in. Lauren reminds him that Kevin wasn't sure it was Jeff. Eden pipes up and asks Michael why he's wasting so much time - River's about to be sent to Ann Arbor! Michael steams. He tells Eden that he doesn't represent River! Eden says she heard him tell Lauren that her dad's lawyer couldn't find his butt with a map and a compass! They try to be patient with her, but she slams out of the room. Michael tells Lauren he's off to see River, but first he's visiting his step-dad! After he's left, Eden comes back out and chats with Lauren about the book she's reading. The phone rings. It's the hippie lawyer, who says that River is now being moved sooner!
Michael arrives at the Abbott Mansion and bluntly tells Jeffrey that he turned Lowell in to the authorities. Gloria tries to defend him, but Michael tells her to stay out of it. She urges him to let it go, but Michael wants Jeff to look him in the eye and tell him he didn't do it. Jeff stands up and says, "I did it. I called the authorities on River." Michael flips out on Jeff, "That's my father!" Jeff says he didn't want a felony holding over his head - not reporting the whereabouts of a murder suspect. Gloria says she thinks he did it because she spent the night with River. She maintains that nothing happened and Jeffrey sneers, "And now nothing ever will!" Gloria advises Michael that it's futile to argue with Jeff. Michael suddenly gets a call from Victor who tells him he's in the hospital and needs him there. Michael heads out.
Paul arrives at the hospital with Heather and tells the desk nurse that his daughter was diagnosed with anemia when she was admitted before, but is ill again. After an examination she is diagnosed with Epstein-Barr disease, which is spread through saliva. Nick happens into the area where he left his coat, and Paul asks what he's doing there. He explains that he brought Victor in. Nick walks away and Heather jokes to Paul that she wonders if Victor's up for visitors. Paul goes to find Nikki. She waits until he's out of sight and then gets up and sneaks away.
In Victor's room, Victoria and Nikki stand by his bedside. As Nick comes in, Victor is telling Nikki that she is responsible for the death of his wife and unborn child and he doesn't want her help. "Get out." Victoria tries to intervene, but Victor wants them to leave, so they go out to the waiting area. They worry about what will happen if Victor goes home alone again. Victoria wants to have him committed for his own good. Nikki says that's too harsh, but Vikki argues he's a danger to himself. Victoria tells Nick he's the tie-breaker, but he doesn't have an answer yet. Paul approaches and takes Nikki aside to talk. She reiterates that she feels responsible, but Paul tells her it was fate - out of everyone's control, even Victor's. Nikki notes that her ex is really in trouble. Paul suggests that maybe she should back off a little. He tells her that he will go and see him if it makes her feel better, then gives her a kiss on the cheek.
At the jail, Lauren brings Eden to see River. As Eden cries, River tries to put a positive spin on the situation. He urges her to get to know her brother, and reminds her that she is now an aunt to Fen. Lauren comforts Eden and shows her the way out. Lauren turns to River and says that it's time to tell her the truth before she sees it on television or the Internet. River claims his innocence, and reminds her how much he has lost in order to run. Lauren asks why he ran if he's innocent. He says he knew he wouldn't get a fair trial! River looks into Lauren's eyes, pleading, "I'm innocent." Gloria arrives and tells River that it was Jeff who turned him in. She apologizes. Lauren tells Gloria that she is worried that Michael won't get here in time. Eden comes back in and says, "It figures." Gloria turns to look at her, and River introduces his daughter. Gloria is outraged that he abandoned her and Michael yet had another child. She stomps out!
Heather turns up in Victor's hospital room. She tells him she needs to talk to him about Adam. She says he doesn't show his emotion, but he's devastated by what happened between them. Victor says he doesn't give a damn and orders her out. She asks why he had to blackball Adam from every Fortune 500 company, and again, Victor hollers for her to get out! He tells Heather that she is wrong about everything - he was very kind to Adam and he behaved despicably when he thought he had died. He tells her to get out yet again, just as Paul walks in. He drags his daughter out of the room and she says, "He's hiding something!" Paul warns her that taking on Victor isn't good for her health, plus she could have lost her job. Heather tells him that it's his fault she's like this - it's genetic! Paul softens.
Michael arrives at the hospital just in time to hear Nick, Nikki, and Victoria talking to a hospital official about Victor's condition and that they're thinking about committing him for his own good. Michael strides into Victor's room. He demands that Michael get him out of there, but Michael warns that he may have to be evaluated first - his family is very concerned. Victor growls, "You get me out of here! I mean it!"

Sharon says into the phone, "Jack, stop lying! Where are you? Who are you with?!"
As Adam and Jack sit in the bar, Jack hollers, "Anyone here know Tony Amato?" This causes the bartender to angrily smash a bottle across their tabletop. Adam shouts, "Whoa!" The bartender growls, "Get out!"
Victoria and Nikki tell Nick and Phyllis that Victor never made it to the Psych Ward. "We don't know where he is!"
