Cane shocks Jill, Amber and Colleen face-off, Gloria and Jeffrey scheme.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel does work to prepare for his gallery showing. Colleen offers to come by and help him at home later, but he spies Amber and hesitates. He ultimately makes a date with Colleen for after the showing is over. Amber watches their exchange and engages in discussion with Jana and Kevin about her new love interest, Liam. When they question his existence, Amber calls him to prove it. Unfortunately, the line has been disconnected! Kevin smirks as Daniel brings a creamer up for a refill. He asks Amber if she's still bringing Liam to the showing. She smiles and confirms. Kevin asks Daniel to go play basketball and Colleen pointedly kisses Daniel goodbye. Amber tells Colleen, "He slept with you to get over me. If you want to call that a relationship - go for it!" Amber assures her that Daniel doesn't know what he wants right now. Jana asks Colleen to sit down with her for a moment. Colleen tells Jana that she is a better fit for Daniel than Amber. Jana warns that she might be making a mistake assuming that! Colleen tells Jana to tell Amber that she won't get out of her way! Amber hears, and tells her she doesn't care - she's bringing her new boyfriend to Daniel's showing! Colleen squeaks, "You're going to the opening?" Amber realizes Daniel didn't ask Colleen to attend and grins, "My bad!"
At the Abbott Mansion, Gloria listens as Jack tells Adam on the phone that they have to be patient. When he hangs up, she says she hopes he's talking about the takeover of Jabot! When she tells him she is making progress, he questions where Jeffrey comes in. She brushes off the query. Jack reiterates that when she gets some of Katherine's stock, then he'll go to his family. She says she's meeting Kay that day!
Jill encounters Brad working on a laptop at the Club. She asks if he's working on his resume, and snarks about his short tenure at Newman. He smirks, saying that the Feds will soon be looking for her. She counters that she might have some tidbits about him for Restless Style! When she leaves, Heather approaches. He asks after Adam, and tells her to have him give him a call - they can brainstorm together. She says she will and leaves.
At Jabot, Cane deals with a group of officials from the SEC who are there to investigate Jill. They show him a warrant and ask to start in her office - Cane leads the way. Jill arrives and realizes immediately what is going on. She and Cane meet in the Board Room. She starts talking damage control, and Cane shocks her by saying he feels he should issue a statement that she is stepping down as CEO of Chancellor Industries! She refuses. He tells her he believes her, but she needs to be out of the public eye. He says she made him CEO because she had faith that he could make good decisions! She continues to refuse, and they keep arguing the point. Suddenly, the man from the SEC comes in. "We've waited long enough!"
Gloria meets Jeffrey at the Club. He suggests they hunt down Jack after they eat. She says she'll take care of Jack, but Jeff says he worries she'll cut him out of the scheme! She makes an excuse to leave, and he chuckles as he calls Jack!
At the Chancellor Mansion, Katherine just gets off the phone, when the doorbell rings. It's a gift-bearing Gloria. "I owe you an apology." She notes how rude she was the other day at the Club. Kay accepts her apology and tries to rush her out. Gloria says in a dream, John told her that Katherine would understand why she should give her some of her shares of Jabot as a gift. Katherine is intrigued. Gloria tells her it has to be shares that once belonged to John - for sentimental reasons. "What a wonderful way to honor your lifelong friend." Katherine gives her head a shake, and says 'no'. She tells Gloria that John would have understood her refusal. She then leaves. "Show yourself out."
Still at home, Jack learns that Jabot stock is in free-fall. He muses what this might mean for Jeffrey. Suddenly, his father John says, "Thinking about the old days, Jackie?" Jack says he wishes he'd come more often, and John remarks that he comes when he needs him. Jack confides that every day he still wakes up feeling down - his father is gone, Jabot's gone. He tears up when he talks about what it is like to pass the old building. They remember fondly the times when they all worked together. John tells him Gloria's scheme is the best hope he has. Jack wonders if she'll be able to change Katherine's mind. John warns him not to underestimate Gloria - this is important to her! Just then, Jeffrey walks in - he wants to talk about Jabot! He asks what Jack thinks their next move should be. A puzzled Jack says he already had this conversation with Gloria earlier. Just then, Gloria walks in. She and Jeff realize that they have been caught going behind each other's backs! Jeffrey calls her a 'naughty wench', and she wonders if she knows him at all! Jack notes that for them, lying and backstabbing are foreplay - he is backing out! Gloria stops him by hollering that she did it - she got the shares from Katherine! "The three of us are going to own Jabot!"
On the basketball court, Daniel and Kevin discuss the future. Kevin notes that he's looking for something 'bigger' than the coffee house and his IT job at Jabot. He then asks about Daniel, and what his future plans are. Daniel admits to Kevin that he can't seem to get Amber out of his head. Kevin warns he should make a move if he wants her back - soon it may be too late!
Katherine arrives at Jabot and she pokes her head in to tell Jill that the people from the SEC are leaving. Jill spits, "Goody gumdrops!" She then gets choked-up as she tells Katherine that Cane has asked her to leave, so she's packing up! Jill tells Cane to keep her informed, then leaves. Cane tells his grandmother that he did what he had to do! Katherine is impressed that he was able to persuade Jill. She tells him not to worry about his mother.
At the Club, Jill meets with Heather and says if she can get the SEC off her back, she will tell her everything she knows about Brad Carlton and his dealings with David Chow. Heather wants money exchanges that can be traced back to the syndicate. Jill says she can produce. Heather says if this is true, they're going to have to call in the FBI! Jill tells her to go ahead.
Brad is at the coffee house when Kevin returns and gets a phone call that all of his records from Jabot are being subpoenaed. He hangs up and Brad asks what is going on at Jabot. Kevin tells him that it appears the SEC is investigating Jill and that she has stepped down! Kevin then listens as Brad confirms a new position heading up an energy firm. At a nearby table, Amber frets to Jana that she can't reach Liam. She then admits that if Daniel would take her back she would drop Liam in a minute!
Colleen finds Daniel at the basketball court. She confronts him about inviting Amber to his showing and not her. He sighs and tells her that he doesn't really know why, but he's just not over Amber yet!
