Nick, Victoria and Adam react to their letters from Victor, Chloe comes clean!
In the Chancellor living room, Esther tells 'Kate' how wonderful it is to see her. Jill says Esther is mistaken - this is Cane's new wife, Chloe. They all turn to Chloe, who after a pause, admits that she is indeed Kate Valentine, and Esther is her mother! Cane rubs his forehead and asks, "What haven't you lied to me about?" Esther enfolds Chloe into her arms as Katherine muses, "Well, well, well. It's been a very long time hasn't it?" Esther beams at Chloe. "You're gorgeous." She asks why Chloe has been in town and not contacted her. Chloe replies that she didn't want to be put up in the Mansion - she wanted to make it on her own. Katherine asks why she lied to Cane, and Chloe explains that when she found out she was pregnant, she didn't want the baby to end up like her. "Where's my daddy?" So she kept the truth from him so he'd marry her. Jill says that's a bunch of garbage! Katherine says it is quite a set of coincidences if it wasn't planned. Chloe says they all just dislike her because she's the daughter of a maid, and that she was never good enough to live in Katherine's estate - that's why they sent her away! "Now I'm not good enough to be carrying a Chancellor heir!" Cane blurts, "She's targeted me from the beginning!" Jill agrees. Esther says her Katie would never do that! Suddenly the doorbell rings - the reception guest are arriving!
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria finishes up the deal in Dubai. J.T. wanders into the office and asks why she hasn't opened her letter from Victor yet. She says, "I really disappointed him, J.T." She pulls the letter out of the envelope and reads. Victor tells her that he doesn't fear death, and has left the world with no regrets except one - he loves her more than words could ever express on a page. She looks up and tells J.T. that her dad went soft on her. She says she wishes she had made peace with him after Sabrina died. J.T. leaves to make some phone calls and she continues reading. The letter says that ever since she was a baby he understood that she was a chip off the old block. He says he never gave a damn what anyone said about him - except for her. "I've always loved you. I've adored you." He says he always thought nothing mattered but success, but he was wrong. He always needed her love and respect. Victoria sobs. "Daddy." She gazes at the portrait of Victor as J.T. comes in. She asks if he thinks she is like her dad; has his spirit. J.T. says, "Definitely." Victoria reads to him, "Nicholas will find his own way, and Adam will put his ambition to good use, but you, my darling, carry the very spirit and the soul of Victor Newman, and it is through you that I will live forever. The very best parts of me are bled into you - charity, generosity, and forgiveness, and through you I'm assured that the rest of my family will remember me this way. God bless you my daughter. Love, Dad."
At Restless Style, Nick is reading his letter from his father. In it, Victor tells him that Nikki always had an easier time relating to him, perhaps making her a better parent than he was - fatherhood for him was not instinctual, it had to be learned. He tells him of all his children, he may be the most like him - stronger and better for the things he didn't have. He says he's counting on it. Victor says that he fears that he has been disappointed in him too often - he admits to being deliberately tougher on him, and often not fair. Sharon interrupts as she comes in with Noah. He asks them what's going on. Noah explains that he wants to go to public school. He makes his case, but Nick argues that he shouldn't give up a great prep school. Noah argues that Victor never went to a great school. He doesn't want special privileges - he just wants to be like everyone else. Nick counters that he's Victor Newman's grandson and that makes him special whether he likes it or not! Noah contends that he doesn't want everything handed to him. Nick offers a deal - he looks into some of the courses, and they'll consider it. Noah happily leaves. Sharon says that maybe it's the loss they're feeling right now, but she just wants Noah to be happy. Nick agrees. Sharon asks if there is anything in the letter from Victor that he wants to talk about. Nick says he's not finished, but tells Sharon that Victor really loved her. She and Noah leave. Nick turns back to the letter, wherein Victor admits that he wasn't always a great father to him, and was a self-absorbed father, and that as he watched him with Cassie, and now Noah and Summer, he sees the sheer joy he derives from their presence, and how much they count on him for love and solace. He closes by saying that he apologizes for not having been the greatest father to him, but tells him he is the best dad that Noah and Summer and children in your future could ever hope for - and for that he is proud of him. Nick fights tears.
On the beach in Mexico, Nikki is helped by Victor off of the sand and into a small room where he deposits her on a bunk. She gazes at him in amazement. "It really is you!" He tells her she shouldn't have come there. There is nothing left to say. He asks how she found him. She tells him about seeing the photo of Walter, and that she knew then that he tracked him down there to get revenge. Victor says the storm wrecked the boat and he survived - that's all. She wants to know what he's running from. "The whole world thinks you're dead." Victor explains that he put his affairs in order at home - there's no reason to ever go back there. Nikki is appalled! She threatens to phone his children and grandchildren and tell them that he is hiding out, feeling sorry for himself and playing dead. Victor hisses at her not to come there and try to make him feel guilty! She takes a different tack, rubbing his arm and saying that she feels terrible for his loss. He pushes her away. She says she feels responsible for his pain and he hates her for it. He replies that he feels nothing for her. "Don't come here and try to make me feel guilty! Get the hell out!" She begs him to listen to her. She says she came to find him because she's loved him almost her whole life. They can be angry at each other but it doesn't change anything. He says he feels nothing but hatred for her right now. Nikki wants to take him home, but he tells her to save her breath - it means nothing to him. He contends that he's not going back to Genoa City, but Nikki says she cannot lie to people - he's alive! Victor yells that all of his dreams died in that car wreck - that she is responsible for! He says his heart is full of jagged edges. "You come close, I promise you, you will bleed!" He rages about how her pride and arrogance are the cause of it all. She cries and admits that she drank when she thought he died. She says she's in pain too, and so are the children. "I love you. They love you!" He tells her that her love for him is a sick love that deserves to die. When she tries to touch him, he tells her not to. "I wish one of us had the guts to kill the other. To put us out of our misery." He leaves the room and she follows. Once again, Nikki runs up the beach screeching, "Victor!" But he keeps walking and doesn't turn back toward her. She collapses in the sand, sobbing.
At the Ranch, Adam sits reading his letter from Victor. "Life is what it is, Adam." Victor tells him he has nothing to offer him except his faith in him, and that he shouldn't assume that his bequest to him means that he is more important to him than his other two children. "That is not the case." Adam stops reading and stands up. Heather comes downstairs and asks what the letter says. He lies to her. "Love you, miss you, wish we'd spent more time together." He balls it up and tosses it in the wastebasket. Heather confronts Adam about not treasuring his father's final words. Adam tells her to let it go. She walks over to the wastebasket and reaches for it. Adam roughly grabs her. "I told you to let it go and I meant it!" He then shoves her out of his way. He cools down and apologizes. She tells him not to let it happen again. She then suggests that they go skinny-dipping in the pool! When he goes to change, she sneaks back and pulls the letter from the trash! Heather reads about how Victor wants Adam to try and get along with Nick and Victoria - but he will be the one who will have to swallow his pride to do it. Suddenly, Adam comes in and confronts Heather. "What are you doing?" He tells her that what he got out of the letter was this: the number two son wasn't worthy of his love, not when compared to his other offspring! Heather says maybe it just means that Victor wants him to share with them and get along. Adam replies that they have had everything handed to them their whole lives and he's not sharing with anyone but her!
Out in the living room, Esther sits with Chloe on the sofa. Katherine comes in and says the guests have been dealt with and Esther should go donate the food. Katherine apologizes to Chloe for Jill being such a pill. Chloe says she's not a low-life who went after Cane for his money. Katherine notes that she knows she's had a comfortable life that was subsidized by her out of fondness for her mother. "Don't make me regret my generosity!"
In another room at the Chancellor Mansion, Jill and Cane talk. She says he should support Chloe and the child and not shirk his responsibilities, but should not tie himself down to someone who is capable of this kind of deceit! "Get a good lawyer, and get an annulment before she gets her hooks any deeper into you!" Jill points out that she signed the marriage certificate "Chloe Mitchell" that constitutes fraud. Katherine comes in and asks if he's alright. Cane says no and leaves. Jill tells Kay she'd sell her soul to get Chloe out of his life. Just then, Esther comes in and enthuses about how exciting it is that they're going to be grandmothers! Jill is stunned as Esther throws her arms around her and embraces her!
As they arrive home, Chloe asks Cane if he is going to talk to her. He tells her there isn't much to say! She claims that she didn't know who he was. He rages, "Don't play me! You listen to me Chloe, Katie or whatever your name is. You had better be a really, really good mother to that baby you're carrying. It's not only my kid, it's a Chancellor, and I swear to you if you mess up I'll take it from you so fast your head will spin. Do you understand me!" He leaves her stunned by his ire!

Hadam Has A Bad Way About Himself, By Grabbing Heather On Her Arm!
