Victor's will is read, Lauren tries to track down River, Chloe attempts to avoid their wedding reception.
As Victoria cleans out her office at Newman Enterprises, J.T. offers to help. She laments that it had felt so good - like home - being back there. J.T. says he is so sorry about the way things turned out. They agree that Adam is wrong about a Harvard degree being the end all be all! They get to talking about Victor's past and she explains that he changed his name because he wanted to always be the 'Victor' and was a "New Man"! Just then, Phyllis and Nick walk in. They share a mutual moment of worry about Nikki, before beginning to talk about Adam. Vikki notes that Brad is the new CEO. Phyllis remarks that she doesn't know which of them is slimier. Victoria muses that they're bound to run the company into the ground.
At Crimson Lights, Lauren tries to get the attention of her distracted husband. Michael apologizes and says he was thinking about Victor - he wishes he wasn't in the position he's in. Lauren agrees that it is odd, Victor demanding that everyone be gathered together for the reading of the will. Kevin and Jana come in fresh off of their honeymoon. They want Lauren and Michael to have lunch with them, but Michael quietly explains that he has to preside over the reading of Victor Newman's will. Jana and Kevin are stunned. Lauren says, "It's true. He's dead." They recount the story to the newlyweds. Jana proclaims the whole thing to be a tragedy a la Romeo and Juliet! She wonders if her Ouija board predicted this! When Michael leaves, Lauren tells Kevin and Jana that Michael isn't dealing with the situation with River very well. She wants to speak to River herself and asks them for the number of the Ashram. She phones and discovers that River is no longer there. Once Lauren leaves, Jana has a tirade about the darkness the Ouija board has brought about - it has to go! Kevin is exasperated. He says he realizes that she will reinvent herself every couple of years - now she's no longer goth girl! Kevin then helps her ceremoniously burn the Ouija board!
At the Ranch, Adam tells Heather that he is flying in a six-course meal from Brussels for dinner that night. He explains that it is from the restaurant where she once said she had the best meal of her life. She is pleased. "It's so thoughtful, so extravagant!"
At Jabot, as Katherine listens, Jill refuses to comment on the Restless Style article as she tells the reporter on the phone that a libel suit is pending. When she hangs up, Katherine notes that in order to sue she'd first have to prove it false! Jill says she doesn't want to talk about it, she wants to focus on the party for Chloe and Cane. She hisses that her new daughter-in-law had better not do anything to ruin it!
At home, Chloe tells Cane her stomach is doing crazy flip-flops! He asks if she is trying to get out of going to the party, but she insists that she's sick. He says they had better call the doctor to be on the safe side. Chloe sighs. Cane makes a phone call and then announces that they are going to see the doctor - he's driving. Chloe rolls her eyes. As he readies to leave, he discovers her with a bag of chips. He wonders why she is trying to get out of going to the party. He insists that they will go to the doctor and then to the reception. She says, "Fine! It's going to be a truly memorable night!"
At the Abbott Mansion, Jack speaks to Ashley on the phone. "Just goes to show you, no one's invincible, not even the great Victor Newman!" He tells her he'll let her know about the memorial service. He hangs up and tells Sharon that Ash asked him to go to the reading of the will on Abby's behalf. Sharon acts worried and Jack assures her he'll be on his best behavior with Nick. "You need to back off Jack, don't provoke Nick." Jack notes that she seems to be taking Nick's side again. Sharon says there are no sides, and they don't need trouble on a day like today.
Katherine and Jill arrive at the Chancellor Mansion and Jill hollers to Esther. "Why aren't the decorations up?" Esther tells her to relax, they'll be up in time. She says she just wishes the party was for Cane and Lily, not that man-trapping hussy! She tells Jill that she might be able to welcome her into the family, but she's not sure she can. Katherine says she feels the same way! As Esther starts hanging decorations, Jill harangues her. The phone rings and it's a reporter asking Esther if she wants to make extra money by speaking out about Jill Abbott! Esther's eyes get round as he mentions a figure. Jill barks at her to hang up, and Katherine wonders how much the going rate is - Esther says she could be rich! Katherine tells Jill she had better figure out how to handle this mess!
Nick and Phyllis arrive at the Ranch to discover that Heather has moved in. Phyllis is shocked. Nick worries that if Adam gets everything in the Will, they'll have to find a new place to live - Adam will control all of the property! Soon, Victoria and J.T. arrive. Nick fills them in on Heather. Victoria remarks, "So now Heather is the woman of the house." Nick wonders how long it will take before they start redecorating! Jack strolls in with Sharon and Nick asks what he is doing there. Jack tells them that Ashley asked him to represent Abby. Nick says he wouldn't trust him to do it, but Jack insists he's not looking for trouble. Next, Michael arrives and says if everyone is ready, they'll get started. Michael reads the Will. Victor leaves 1/4 of his estate in trust for Abby and his grandchildren. To Ashley he leaves his book collection, to Nick he leaves the building which houses Restless Style, to Victoria he leaves his art collection and control of the Newman Foundation, and to Adam he leaves the bulk of his estate and Newman Enterprises. Adam looks like the cat who ate the canary! Jack tells Adam to give him a call if he needs any help. Victoria and Nick and their spouses discuss how hurt Victor must have been to have left everything to Adam. Michael doles out letters to the Newman siblings that Victor wanted them to have after the Will was read. Sharon and Jack go outside. He tells her he just wishes Victor hadn't left Nick the Restless Style building. Sharon notes that the Will was a real slap in the face to Victoria and Nick. Still inside, Victoria and Nick agree that it will take some time before they can read their letters. Adam offers them anything they want from the Ranch for sentimental reasons. They tell him that they hope he's happy with his money - he says he is!
At the Chancellor Mansion, Katherine is fretting about Chloe and Cane not being there yet, and Jill tells Kay and Esther that she has invited a reporter to get some good press! She tells Esther to be nice when she first meets Chloe. Cane and Chloe arrive at the door, and he warns her to be on her best behavior. She resists going in, and he threatens her with court and the best attorneys money can buy. She agrees to go inside. Katherine and Jill greet them and Cane explains that Chloe wasn't feeling well. Katherine calls Esther to bring drinks. Esther comes in with a tray of champagne and as she looks up, drops the tray in shock. "Kate?!"
On the beach in Mexico, Nikki wanders up the coast frantically calling Victor's name until she is so exhausted she literally collapses in the sand. Suddenly she sees a pair of boots beside her. Looking up, she can hardly believe her eyes - it's Victor!
