When This Gala is Over, so are we.

Wednesday, July 23 2008
The Newmans fight, David gets what he needs, Chloe follows Cane home, Daniel and Amber go on "Loveline".

Chloe takes Amber to Crimson Lights. They complain about their private lives. Chloe probes about Cane and asks if he ever talked about kids. Amber is sure she has a crush on Cane. Chloe says it was only a one time thing. They're both sure he's too into Lily for it to matter. Chloe declares that she has to pee. She seems to be going an awful lot, Amber comments. "I know it's weird. I'm not even bulimic anymore," she says as she heads for the washroom. On the way, she bumps into Devon and asks if Lily has moved out. He says it's none of her business. Ana tells her Lily has moved in with Cane.

Amber catches up with Jana. They mope about work. Amber doesn't seem to like Chloe. She wonders if she should just quit and move back to LA. Amber can't face a future in Genoa City without Daniel: It would be torture. Jana suggests they consult the Ouija board. Amber thinks prescription drugs would help more. She suddenly gets an idea and pulls out her phone.

Chloe calls Susan to help track down the house that Cane bought. Susan hangs up. Meanwhile, Ana teases Devon about who his new roommate might be. He teases her about singing at the gala. She's scared to do it. He has an idea of how to get rid of her stage fright. As they head for the door, Chloe stops them to ask when Lily is moving out. A friend of hers is looking for a place, she says. Devon isn't interested in having a friend of hers anywhere near him.

Kevin arrives at Restless Style to check on Daniel. He says that he's pondering going to live with his dad in LA. They have a beer. Daniel can't stand the thought of Amber with anyone else. They turn on "Loveline" and listen in, discovering that Amber is on the line. She talks about her problems with Daniel and how lame he is being. Daniel gets on the phone to defend himself. They go live and begin bickering. It confuses the hosts of the show. "Do either of you guys do drugs?" they ask. "Not anymore," Amber says. Daniel starts to rant at Amber and she rants back until Dr. Drew says they have serious pathologies and should not get back together. As the doctor tears into them, Daniel and Amber begin defending each other. "Thanks for wasting our time you screwballs," the host says, cutting them off. Amber and Daniel simultaneously decide to move to LA.

Cane carries Lily over the threshold of his new house. He spins her around and they kiss before he lets her down. He pulls of his shirt and pulls her into the bedroom, even if they don't have a mattress yet. Afterwards, they start unpacking their boxes. He discovers a gift Daniel gave her for their wedding. He asks her if she has good memories. "Some... but the good memories were erased by the awful way it ended," she says. She sits on his lap and asks him if things will end the same for them. He promises that nothing will change what they have, not Amber or Daniel or crazy Chloe: They are all out of their lives. He asks her to get his tape measure. As she runs off, he takes out the ring. Outside, Chloe has followed the movers to Cane's house and peers through the door.

The gala preparations are being finalized in the ballroom. David tries to keep up appearances but Nikki clearly doesn't want to talk. "When this gala is over, so are we," she reminds him. Only a few feet away, Victor tells Sabrina that Nick has decided to leave even though he offered him the chance to stay. She drifts off to take care of something as Victoria arrives. She asks her father about kicking her brother and his family out. He says he was furious but had a change of mind. He asks her to reason with his son for him. She refuses. "I've had enough disrespect from my children for one day," he says. Victoria starts lashing out at her father and Sabrina. He lays all of the blame on her. Nikki sticks her head in. "For the better part of your children's lives you have been a horrible father," Nikki snipes. As they throw blame around the room, Katherine arrives and tries to calm them all.

Victor confronts Nikki for pushing his company out of sponsoring this event. He lays into her for criticizing his parenting skills and brings up all of her past mistakes. After he storms off, Victoria hurries to her mother's side. She thinks Victor is out of control. "He's the least of my problems right now," Nikki says. "When the gala is over, I'm leaving David," she blurts out. She tells her that David's name isn't David. There have been too many lies and she has to leave him now. She just wants to avoid bad press right now to shield the gala. Nikki is afraid of hearing Victor's "I told you so", especially when he was right. She begs her daughter to keep this a secret for one more day.

David is outside trying desperately to get a hold of something before it's too late. Walter pops up and reminds him that they need him to take care of something. David asks him to get someone else. They argue but Walter won't argue anymore: David's already proven his skill with the killing of Ji Min. David asks him to remind the boss that he's shown him loyalty over the years and now he needs an out. David walks off and Walter calls his boss to say that David's having cold feet and they better do something about him.

Back inside, Katherine sits with Sabrina and worries that all of the hostility may be bad for the baby. Sabrina says that she and the baby are fine. Victor approaches and the women encourage him to take Sabrina away for a little vacation. He agrees to that but has a "loose end" to tie up.

Nikki and David are cornered by a photographer. They act like a married couple until he walks off. Katherine asks her what's wrong. "After the gala," Nikki says. David has walked outside. He gets a call that his stuff is ready and hurries off.

Sabrina and Victoria pose for a photographer. Sabrina tries to be friendly. Victoria tells her the "supersweet" act is wearing thin. Sabrina defends herself, but Victoria says they will never be friends again. "You are sleeping in my father's bed having secured my fortune," she snipes, accusing her of trying to run off with all Victor's money. Sabrina is sick of defending herself and being humiliated. "You're just a spoiled little brat that's so obsessed with what she doesn't have that she can't see what she does have," she cries. After the gala is over, she never wants to deal with her again. She storms out.

Ana and Devon arrive. He shows her around and tells her everything will be okay. She tells him to sing. He sings for her and she drags him over to Katherine and the others to announce that they will be doing a duet. They run off happily and Katherine demands that Victoria and Sabrina find a way to get along until this is over.

Outside, David picks up his liquid morphine from a man in a car and then returns. He tells Nikki that they need to keep up appearances and should go home together after the event.

At the club, Paul continues amassing information on David's mob connections. He tracks down a mob informant and discovers that there is a good chance that David has been a killer for the mob. Victor arrives and informs them that he is about to leave the country. He just needs to know that David isn't a threat. They tell him that David has connections to the mob and Nikki could be in more danger than they ever imagined. They explain that Walter has a ring of deep cover assassins who can kill people without anyone knowing. Victor suggests they remove David. Paul worries that trying to do so could only make him more of a threat; any attempt to save Nikki is likely to result in her death.

Next on The Young and the Restless:

David makes sure that Nikki's insurance policy has been activated.

Chloe announces to Lily and Cane that she is pregnant.

Walter crashes the party.

Everyone has been commenting on why Paul is always working in CL or at the GCAC..... he definetly does not have an office anymore, he used to have one at NE. There was no reason given why they took it away, but Im guessing because he was never in it anyway.

Chloe looks like a bugged eye alien, I cant wait till the writers finish her stupid s/l..... and that she leaves GC or at least go torment someone else's life. Cane and Lily looks sooo great together and it would be nice to have someone have a good relationship. I wish they would do more with JT's role too.... he's kinda in the backdrop on things and they need to find something to make things more interesting in his life.

- Well Strickly Dr. Drew, Calls Them (Amber And Daniel) Srewballs!

While Daniel's at work, Kevin strolls by to check on him. He says that he can't the thought of Amber being with anyone else.
Then Daniel and Kevin, turn on "The Loveline" live radio show.
They suddendly hear Amber, airring out their "dirty relationship laundry" to Dr. Drew. [lol]
This went nation wide on the radio airwaves, ouch!
This "dirty laundry" discussion, isn't very hush hush. Sounds more like an "x-rated jealous sex" show with serious phsycotic issues.
Geeze, now the whole world has just heard of how crazy-silly that Amber and Daniel really are together.
They must really learn how to communicate better, without letting "the whole radio nation" listening to their less then without "soap n water" relationship. [lol]
How embarrassing for everyone in Genoa City that heard this on the air though, ewwwwwwwwww! [lol]
Amber and Daniel, should use some toilet paper and wipe themselves with it afterwards! [lol]
They sound like they need a private washroom and a washing machine in it! [lol]
They are the new "Phyllis and Nick", without "The Live Sex Couch Show!" [lol]
Hey you 2, decide whether to break up or stay together- you darn "lovesick puppies with jealousy!" [lol]

Chloe is a big time witch. God doesn't like ugly and she is so "ugly". I do believe things will turn out for Cane and Lily and DNA will be a real big help. Even Amber now sees that Chloe is no good.

Have a good day all.

Let me guess, Chloe will say her baby is Cane's & then he has a paternity test & she changes it so it looks like it's really his, but truthfully it isn't. Doesn't this whol story line sound just like Phyllis? These writers need to find new stories, but it's to obvious on whats going to happen on every story just not about Chloe. Everyone knows something bad is going to happen. It's boring. Nothing is keeping me on the end of my seat.

If I didn't think so before, I do now: Victoria is a greedy, spoiled, selfish brat that doesn't deserve the lot she has in life. I wonder if this will eventually lead to JT leaving her. From my perspective, I can't stand her constant "woe is me" act. People that think it is all about them often end up alone, and then it is truly "all about them". With my fortune, indeed...jeez...Victor's not even sick! Way to bank against the will, Vicki!

Chloe is now officially creepier to me than Jana. She's a stalker, plain and simple. When the news comes out, I can't wait to see the reaction. What kills me is for all that Lily knows about Chloe and for all that she says she trusts Cane, I don't believe her...Lily will probably leave Cane showing that she is very immature and can't deal with it despit knowing the truth.

Amber and Daniel on a radio show. Really. I consider talk-radio shows to be just another pathetic attempt at "15 minutes of fame", so if they were serious about solving their problems, they'd cool down, talk about it, and then enlist a therapist if needed. Otherwise, stay away from each other, get over it, and get on with your lives. Stop living in the past.

Good think Walter is around to liven things up. This is the only storyline I'm actually watching closely now. Since David/Clark/Angelo is checking to see if Nikki's life insurance policy is active, I think we'll finally see full circle what happened to his previous wives.

Sabrina didn't take long to become a Newman, did she? Smug, self-righteous, vindictive, and a huge sense of entitlement. Some are born with it (Nick, Victoria, Adam), some have to work at it (Sabrina), and for others, it comes naturally (syPhillis).

Still waiting for the inevitable collapse of Restless Enquirer, the stern lecturing Jack will get from John's ghost, and further adventures with Barfwell and Bug-Eyes.

Whatever! I dont think anything will happen to Nikki! The show won't be the same. But then again, they were good when Dru was taken out. Victor and Nikki is like Luke and Laura, They have to be together!

LDaley - Thoroughly enjoyed your comments this morning. OK, here goes - everybody get mad at me but I'm enjoying the s/l with stalker Chloe and I still think she's cute as a button. Not all there, but cute. What I am really sick of is Gloria and Jeffrey. I've always defended them on the show because they added comic relief and are great actors but once again, they are up to some hair-brained ridiculous half-witted scheme and this behavior has got to be too old. Guess I'm bored with their shenanigans and Chloe is a change. Since the writers seem to be allowing us to write a great deal of the show, can't we please just have Gloria and Jeffrey be normal at least for a short time? I never thought Amber would catch on to Chloe but it seems she finally has. Go, Amber.

Ok, My Smack of the Week goes to Sictoria, boy oh boy, she just showed her true colors about that inheritance. By now they should now Victor does what he wants to do and nobody can convince he otherwise so for Sictoria to think Sabrina had Victor change the will to benefit her is totally stupid on Sictoria's part. she is just sicken.

The days sure seem to be long at GC, Sictoria still has on the same dress since Monday, matter fact they all have on the same clothes since Monday.

Now the new mystery is who is Walter talking too on the other end. Is the person he is talking too some how connected to someone in GC.

Posted by Turkeyteeth at Wednesday, July 23 2008 05:01 AM

How is this for a scenario.
Victor is the one who drinks the morphine and dies. The money goes to Adam, Sabrina and the unborn child, his child with Ashley and his three grandchildren. One of whom....Summer who will turn out to be Jack's. Jack will get custody of Summer and also the portion of Victor's money and take over all.
