There's Hardly a Family Left.

Friday, July 18 2008
Victor throws his children out of his will, Paul gets a break, Sharon decides to accept Jack for who he is.

At Restless Style, everyone is doing damage control. Nick glares over at Jack for being so smug. Phyllis is afraid their website will crash because it's getting too many hits. An order for more copies comes in because they've sold out. Nick stops Jack from going ahead with publishing more, saying they need to discuss this first. It's too late: The next printing has already started. Nick and Jack bark at each other and split up. Victoria quickly corners Jack about using her words out of context but he shrugs it off.

Later that day, Sharon leaves and Phyllis asks Jack why he was lying to his wife. It doesn't seem like he really thought the ramifications of this stunt through. Jack is sure they are legally protected from Victor. Phyllis reminds him that Victor doesn't care about the law.

At the ranch, Sabrina tries to write a letter to Victoria. Victor reads the letter and tells her how sorry he is about all of this. He offers to call some journalists and sort this out. She doesn't want a family fight in the press. "There's hardly a family left," he sighs. Their family will just be them and the baby. They embrace. She has a nap. When she wakes up, he has a new idea: Announcing the happy news about the baby. She wants to keep it quiet. He offers to fly her anywhere in the world. She reminds him that they have to show a proud face. After she hurries off to work, he calls Michael. He wants to slap the magazine with a lawsuit. After hanging up, his son walks in and tells him that he has pulled all of Newman's advertising from the magazine. They are both hunting for Adrian and Victor wants all of the other advertisers contacted and dealt with.

David and Nikki return to her office after visiting their new house. He's thrilled. She says he's worth the commitment. They sign the paperwork and he takes a picture of them with his phone.

At Crimson Lights, Paul sorts through a pile of mail. He discovers a letter from David's ex-step daughter and shows it to JT. "I'll work to my dying day to prove you killed my mother," they read. The letters don't seem suicidal and were mailed locally so David must have gotten it the day she died. They mull over their options and JT decides to leave. Paul notices David across the room and sits down with him. Paul tells him he just wants to see that Nikki is safe. David tells him he's kicking his gambling habit and his future is with Nikki.

Karen and Neil stop by Indigo. He just wants to check in with Tyra to see how things are going. He's confident she can look after things, he tells Karen, so that means they should have more time together. At a table, Ana shows her new shoes to Devon and then to Karen. Ana thanks Karen again for helping her with her fear of singing. All of this attention seems to make Tyra uncomfortable. Ana sings them a song she learned at church. JT walks in and tells her how great she is. Neil introduces him to Tyra and they leave to put together a new security system.

Sabrina and Jana meet at Crimson Lights. Jana talks about the article but Sabrina wants to concentrate on work. A reporter interrupts but Jana chases him out. Other reporters still mill around. Nick comes in to apologize to his mother-in-law, saying that the article was not the one he approved. She thinks he did this out of resentment and refuses to listen to any excuses. She walks out and a reporter follows. "You set this in motion so, Nicholas, be prepared to reap the consequences," Jana says.

Michael arrives at the ranch. Victor announces that he will lay a libel suit on the magazine and bury them in legal fees. He wants everything in the article checked. Michael leaves to get to work. Adam tells his father that Nikki likely won't withdraw her ads from the magazine. Victor threatens to bury everyone who doesn't. Michael soon returns after setting all the fact checkers to work. Victor asks his son to leave and tells Michael he wants to change his will. The children he raised have betrayed him. Michael encourages him to talk to them and think it over. Victor doesn't need to think: He wants the will changed now. Nick and Victoria are completely pushed out of the will. He calls in some servants to witness him signing the document.

Victoria chats with her mother on the phone before running into Sabrina at the club. She apologizes for everything but Sabrina doesn't accept it. A reporter ducks behinds them and takes pictures as Sabrina lays into her. Victoria accuses her of lying since she came to Genoa City. Sabrina thinks Victoria and her brother just can't stand to see their father happy.

At Crimson Lights, Jana and Adam talk about the mess with the magazine. He tells her that his father trusts Sabrina completely. After he walks off, she gets her Ouija board out again. "Will Sabrina and Victor have a long and happy life together?" she queries. It answers "Goodbye".

Victoria goes to see her mother in her office. Nikki tells her she needs to get out of the line of fire. Victoria is sure it's too late for that. Nikki begins gushing about the estate she just bought. Her daughter thinks she's crazy to be doing this with David but Nikki is confident she has everything under control.

Nick returns to Restless Style. Phyllis is the only one still at work. He tells her how mad he is at Jack. He's already set up a meeting with his banker to find a way to get Jack out of the magazine. When that doesn't go well they weigh other options.

Jack returns home and calls for Sharon. A call comes in and he happily tells the caller that the next few issues will be more of the same. Sharon hears this and isn't happy. He apologizes. She says he's been lying since the beginning of their relationship. She feels like a cliche: A woman who married a man thinking he can change... but this is who he is and has always been. He makes promises, but, she says, they are meaningless. "I've gotta stop fighting against the real Jack Abbott," she says. What they have is worth fighting for and she won't leave him; she'll just have to accept him for who he is. "I'm not going to make any mote promises," he says, relieved. They hug. She gets them wine to celebrate the magazine. He wants to celebrate her instead. They toast to their future.

Adam sits at the bar of the club and leaves a message for Skye. Sabrina joins him. He tells her that they've pulled all of the advertising from the magazine. She's impressed. He asks her how much of the story is actually true

Nick arrives at the ranch late and Victor is waiting up for him. He tells him to get his bags and get out.

Walter calls David as he returns to the club. David tells him he's no longer interested. "I'm done," he insists, hanging up.

Back at Crimson Lights, Paul continues to sort through his files when he discovers something. Calling JT, he says that he's finally found David's true identity.

Next on The Young and the Restless:

Victor tells his daughter that he's cut her out of the will.

"David Chow equals Angelo Serafini," Nikki says.

Cane tells Neil that he's done something important, maybe the most important thing he's ever done.
