There's Hardly a Family Left.

Friday, July 18 2008
Victor throws his children out of his will, Paul gets a break, Sharon decides to accept Jack for who he is.

At Restless Style, everyone is doing damage control. Nick glares over at Jack for being so smug. Phyllis is afraid their website will crash because it's getting too many hits. An order for more copies comes in because they've sold out. Nick stops Jack from going ahead with publishing more, saying they need to discuss this first. It's too late: The next printing has already started. Nick and Jack bark at each other and split up. Victoria quickly corners Jack about using her words out of context but he shrugs it off.

Later that day, Sharon leaves and Phyllis asks Jack why he was lying to his wife. It doesn't seem like he really thought the ramifications of this stunt through. Jack is sure they are legally protected from Victor. Phyllis reminds him that Victor doesn't care about the law.

At the ranch, Sabrina tries to write a letter to Victoria. Victor reads the letter and tells her how sorry he is about all of this. He offers to call some journalists and sort this out. She doesn't want a family fight in the press. "There's hardly a family left," he sighs. Their family will just be them and the baby. They embrace. She has a nap. When she wakes up, he has a new idea: Announcing the happy news about the baby. She wants to keep it quiet. He offers to fly her anywhere in the world. She reminds him that they have to show a proud face. After she hurries off to work, he calls Michael. He wants to slap the magazine with a lawsuit. After hanging up, his son walks in and tells him that he has pulled all of Newman's advertising from the magazine. They are both hunting for Adrian and Victor wants all of the other advertisers contacted and dealt with.

David and Nikki return to her office after visiting their new house. He's thrilled. She says he's worth the commitment. They sign the paperwork and he takes a picture of them with his phone.

At Crimson Lights, Paul sorts through a pile of mail. He discovers a letter from David's ex-step daughter and shows it to JT. "I'll work to my dying day to prove you killed my mother," they read. The letters don't seem suicidal and were mailed locally so David must have gotten it the day she died. They mull over their options and JT decides to leave. Paul notices David across the room and sits down with him. Paul tells him he just wants to see that Nikki is safe. David tells him he's kicking his gambling habit and his future is with Nikki.

Karen and Neil stop by Indigo. He just wants to check in with Tyra to see how things are going. He's confident she can look after things, he tells Karen, so that means they should have more time together. At a table, Ana shows her new shoes to Devon and then to Karen. Ana thanks Karen again for helping her with her fear of singing. All of this attention seems to make Tyra uncomfortable. Ana sings them a song she learned at church. JT walks in and tells her how great she is. Neil introduces him to Tyra and they leave to put together a new security system.

Sabrina and Jana meet at Crimson Lights. Jana talks about the article but Sabrina wants to concentrate on work. A reporter interrupts but Jana chases him out. Other reporters still mill around. Nick comes in to apologize to his mother-in-law, saying that the article was not the one he approved. She thinks he did this out of resentment and refuses to listen to any excuses. She walks out and a reporter follows. "You set this in motion so, Nicholas, be prepared to reap the consequences," Jana says.

Michael arrives at the ranch. Victor announces that he will lay a libel suit on the magazine and bury them in legal fees. He wants everything in the article checked. Michael leaves to get to work. Adam tells his father that Nikki likely won't withdraw her ads from the magazine. Victor threatens to bury everyone who doesn't. Michael soon returns after setting all the fact checkers to work. Victor asks his son to leave and tells Michael he wants to change his will. The children he raised have betrayed him. Michael encourages him to talk to them and think it over. Victor doesn't need to think: He wants the will changed now. Nick and Victoria are completely pushed out of the will. He calls in some servants to witness him signing the document.

Victoria chats with her mother on the phone before running into Sabrina at the club. She apologizes for everything but Sabrina doesn't accept it. A reporter ducks behinds them and takes pictures as Sabrina lays into her. Victoria accuses her of lying since she came to Genoa City. Sabrina thinks Victoria and her brother just can't stand to see their father happy.

At Crimson Lights, Jana and Adam talk about the mess with the magazine. He tells her that his father trusts Sabrina completely. After he walks off, she gets her Ouija board out again. "Will Sabrina and Victor have a long and happy life together?" she queries. It answers "Goodbye".

Victoria goes to see her mother in her office. Nikki tells her she needs to get out of the line of fire. Victoria is sure it's too late for that. Nikki begins gushing about the estate she just bought. Her daughter thinks she's crazy to be doing this with David but Nikki is confident she has everything under control.

Nick returns to Restless Style. Phyllis is the only one still at work. He tells her how mad he is at Jack. He's already set up a meeting with his banker to find a way to get Jack out of the magazine. When that doesn't go well they weigh other options.

Jack returns home and calls for Sharon. A call comes in and he happily tells the caller that the next few issues will be more of the same. Sharon hears this and isn't happy. He apologizes. She says he's been lying since the beginning of their relationship. She feels like a cliche: A woman who married a man thinking he can change... but this is who he is and has always been. He makes promises, but, she says, they are meaningless. "I've gotta stop fighting against the real Jack Abbott," she says. What they have is worth fighting for and she won't leave him; she'll just have to accept him for who he is. "I'm not going to make any mote promises," he says, relieved. They hug. She gets them wine to celebrate the magazine. He wants to celebrate her instead. They toast to their future.

Adam sits at the bar of the club and leaves a message for Skye. Sabrina joins him. He tells her that they've pulled all of the advertising from the magazine. She's impressed. He asks her how much of the story is actually true

Nick arrives at the ranch late and Victor is waiting up for him. He tells him to get his bags and get out.

Walter calls David as he returns to the club. David tells him he's no longer interested. "I'm done," he insists, hanging up.

Back at Crimson Lights, Paul continues to sort through his files when he discovers something. Calling JT, he says that he's finally found David's true identity.

Next on The Young and the Restless:

Victor tells his daughter that he's cut her out of the will.

"David Chow equals Angelo Serafini," Nikki says.

Cane tells Neil that he's done something important, maybe the most important thing he's ever done.

Too bad the writers hurried the Sabrina s/l...we have a lot invested in the "who's the daddy" s/l; now it will all just go away.

I agree with artistah, why is Victor cutting Victoria out? I guess that will leave him with no one (except Adam) very shortly.

So much for your family values, Victor....kicking Nick out is kicking Noah out--cutting Victoria out of your life is cutting Reed out also. Way to go, Grandpa!

Morning, and HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!

Sharabed... What an idiot... Smellin Jack is just gonna bring her down. I guess there are no rich men in GC that would want her now, she's used goods. Hey, she can't go back to SpongeBrad, she kicked him to the curb. Cababna Boy would be a fool to take her back now.

MGM... He didn't even give his kids a chance to defend themselves. If I were Nick and Vikki, I'd say "That's it, keep your money, you're about to die alone just like your father did, you're just like him, and if and when Scumbrina puts you in that nursing home, we won't be coming to make peace with you, you miserable old fool!!!

Adumb... What an idiot.

Pole Cat... The above applies to her as well...

Puppy Chow... Wow, he's really cute. Too bad they brought him in as the bad guy. I was watching yesterday's episode and saw something in his character that hasn't been there before. When VI smiles, he's a good looking guy. If the writers had been wise, they would have brought him in as one of Jill's brothers, maybe Greg, he was married to Nikki at one time. What a waste of a talented actor.

Scumbrina... GET RID OF HER ALREADY!!! STICKS, STONES, BREAK DIM BONES, GET RID OF HER!!! LET HER BE GONE!!!

Somebody mentioned the crash that Nick was in. The writers never did explain that. the writers are slipping! Too many loose ends.

safire, yeah, they said that it may have been sabotage aboard the Newman jet, but you have to realize, these are new writers who haven't researched the past, otherwise, they'd know, there's no way MGM and Scumbrina could be having a baby together, he's shooting blanks!!!

I don't understand what all the fuss is about Sabrina's ex. I don't remember Victor caring enough to ask about it. He saw a pretty young thing and he wanted her and he got her. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it. I don't remember him going down his list of old flings. And who doesn't have a past.

Why does Victoria think it was too fast for Victor to move on with Sabrina when her mom was already remarried and she herself was pregnant with JT's baby before the ink was dry on her divorce from Brad. At least make the story lines believable.

After all is said and done, Victor is always saying how he protects his family at all costs. Well folks, I'm a mother of 2 grown children and there is nothing they could do that would make me turn my back on them short of hurting my grandchildren which I know they never will. Why is he so quick to believe everything Sabrina says. You would think at his age and with his numerous experiences in wives, he would know better.

Good morning, all!

Hey sleekpat.... I ditto everything you just said! I can't believe Sharabed's going to just roll over and play dead and let Jack be the way he is. Just when they give her the opportunity and means to be empowered - perhaps to be something other than a sex object - she does something that puts her right back in that category! What is UP with that?! We've already got Nikki in the unempowered female role - although she at least found a guy who's willing to allow her to THINK she's empowered (even though he's a big ol' phony who's going to try to off her). Sharabed doesn't even have THAT!

I always thought VI was cute. He had me hooked as Dr Hayward on AMC. Never got into GL so didn't know he was on there once upon a time, and quite the heartthrob too. But he's just another fabulous actor wasted.

I disagree, Victor was right for xing nick & vick out of his will. Both act like they hate his guts. I hope that nick lose all his inheritance just for going against his father and becoming business partners with jacko. They really hate it when Victor offers advice, which by the way his advice has not been wrong yet.

Nicki is a fool, she and vic make me sick everytime those two talk down to Victor & Sabrina. I hate that Sabrina is leaving, I think she and Victor are a great couple who really complement each other. I was really looking forward to seeing them together with their baby.

I never want to see Victor and pole cat reunite, please lets just be through with them, they have ran its course and it is time everyone realize that. As for sharon & jacko shes a fool to stay with him. He has only proven that hes a liar and a jackass. She should really be bother by the fact that he has tried to hurt the one member of the Newman clan who was there for her when everyone else was upset with her.

I can hardley wait for nicki's face hit the floor when she find out all about her sweet little david or clark or whatever his name is. It just goes back to what I stated earlier when Victor offers advice, they shut him down saying he's too controlling.
I recallVictor telling pole cat that she don't know a dam thing about david chow. Oh yesssss its getting now.

I am thrilled to learn that this fiasco re: David Chow(not his real name) will come to fruition very soon. It sickens me to see how he preys on Nikki because she believes that she loves him. She is a needy woman, and since she and Victor probably will never again be united, she will be lucky if she survives with David's attempt at doing her in. What a let-down for a woman who had it all and betrayed Victor when she started having the affair with David. What an IDIOT she has become. I no longer have any respect for her character because she should have had David investigated from the very beginning, and there would not have been so much conflict with Victor as well as her children. I believe that Paul will save her life. Those two could hook-up. That would be interesting.

Victor acts impulsively by cutting Vikki and Nick out of his will. He is very outraged and furious because he blames them for the scandalous article re:Sabrina. Not listening to Nick's attempting to tell him that he was not responsible for the article is typical Victor. Does he know that Vikki's article was also taken out of context?

All of this because of Jack's greed and lack of conscience.
Sharon must believe that she has a prince for a husband. How low did she go? They celebrate because of Jack's destructive, deceitful practices. She is even dumber than Nikki. She needs to get the H*** out of dodge and leave with nothing while she can, or she will also be aot in the cold when Victor destroys the magazine.

It is past time for Nick and Victoria to leave the estate and move to their own homes, which they will have to purchase themselves. The problem is: where will they get the money to do so since they will not have jobs.

I never post on these boards but I happen to agree with Victor this time. His grown children have made many messes out of their various marriages, and Nikki has never been a saint. Nick has no loyalty to his father, whatsoever. He sent him to prison. It is ok for their mother to remarry but not Victor. I wanted Victor's new marraige to work for a little while. I like him and Sabrina together. It brings some fresh air to the mansion. I agree with Gadgetgirl and brwnsugar. Enough of Gloria and that cream.
