Daniel says goodbye to his loved ones. Gloria gets a surprise. Nick tells Phyllis what has happened.
At the Club, Jack and Sharon discuss Restless Style, and she chides him for making a decision about the magazine, once again, without telling Nick and Phyllis. Talk turns to Nick's memories returning and what a rough night he had. Sharon says it might sound funny, but she's glad Nick has Phyllis right now.
At home, Nick wakes up and tells Phyllis that when they were first married she used to bring him hot chocolate with whipped cream on it. She is stunned. "How did you know that?" He explains that in the hospital yesterday, he heard a song he used to sing to Cassie and all of his memories came flooding back. He tells Phyllis that now, he's reliving every terrible moment of his daughter's death all over again! Phyllis says she doesn't know what to do to help him. He replies that she's there for him - that's the best thing. He explains that he went to Cassie's grave last night with Sharon, and that helped too. He worries that he couldn't keep Cassie safe and last night, Noah was supposed to have been with him when he got into the car accident. "It's all a lie. That we can protect them, keep them safe." Phyllis reassures him that he was a great dad to Cassie and is an amazing father to Noah and Summer. "You're strong, you're kind, and you're so loving to them." She says she didn't know Cassie well, but she knows that Cassie felt loved and cared for every minute of the day. Nick then tells Phyllis that he remembers something else too - falling in love with her! He notes that some of his memories are painful, but some are great - like Summer being born in the elevator! He tells his wife he remembers when they got married, and their first kiss. He says it bothers him that their affair hurt people, but he's glad Sharon is with Jack now, and he likes the guy he is now better than the guy he was before - and that's because of Phyllis. She cries and they embrace and kiss.
At Jabot, Jill is in the conference room when Katherine comes in and complains that some recent decisions of Jill's are unacceptable. As Katherine blows back out of the room, Cane comes in. He notes to his mother that he saw on the calendar that it's the anniversary of Phillip Chancellor's death. Cane asks Jill to tell him more about his father. Jill laments that they had a great life set up - which was ruined by Katherine. She bluntly tells Cane that his grandmother was a slobbering drunk in those days. Cane is taken aback that Jill can talk that way about Katherine and asks her to 'just forget about it'.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin and Jana work away, and Amber and Daniel come in to meet Danny, as he and Daniel will be leaving soon to go on the tour. Danny remarks to Amber that he knows this can't be easy for her, but she puts on a brave face and a smile. They discuss setting up a blog for the trip. Amber says it's great that Daniel is going out to see the world and is making up for lost time with his father. Danny tells her she's amazing. Nearby, Kevin is joined by Gloria. The pair of them, along with Jana, discuss Jeff Bardwell still trying to take her money. As Gloria walks away for a moment, Jana hisses to Kevin that it's obvious his poor mother misses Jeffrey! When Gloria comes back, joking about buying expensive houses. Kevin broods that her money will soon be gone, but Gloria reminds him she still has jewels worth millions! Jana, meanwhile, confers with Amber, who admits to her friend that she actually feels terrible about Daniel leaving!
At Restless Style, Jack and Sharon are chatting when Nick and Phyllis arrive. Jack asks Nick how he's doing after his bad night, and he says okay, but asks to speak to Sharon. Phyllis and Jack compare notes, as nearby, Nick apologizes for shocking her last night. He tells Sharon that it's a gift, however, to have been able to recover all of the memories of the time he spent with Cassie. Daniel and Amber arrive for Daniel to say his goodbyes. Nick takes him aside and apologizes to him for the way he treated him after Cassie's death. Daniel says the last year has been great and they make amends. Daniel asks Nick to watch out for his mom while he's away and Nick assures him that Phyllis will be fine and encourages him to enjoy himself seeing the world! They embrace and Daniel beams! Nearby, Phyllis warns Danny to look out for Daniel on the road. Daniel has gone over to Amber who is doing her best to keep optimistic. Daniel tells her if she is worried that this is the beginning of the end for them - she might want to say something! She sobs and throws her arms around him. Nick approaches Phyllis to tell her she is proud of her for staying so calm about Daniel leaving. Across the room, Amber and Daniel establish their trust in one another while they are apart, and kiss on it.
At the coffeehouse, Jana rejoins Kevin and Gloria. Jana asks Gloria to help Kevin out at Crimson Lights if he needs it, since she is going to work for Sabrina. Gloria agrees as Kevin panics. He tells his mother she will not be coming to work for him under any circumstances! Kevin turns his attention to calming Jana's nerves as she leaves for work. Just as she is about to walk out the door, Kevin is stunned to see a large group of people troop in! "Okay. This will be fine!"
At Jabot, Cane hunts down his grandmother to ask about his father. She tells him that Phillip was a great man - until Jill came along! Katherine leaves him to go into the conference room, where she is joined by Jill. They exchange heated words again and Kay asks her daughter just to leave her alone right now. Jill walks out. Cane comes in and Katherine says she thought of another story about his dad. She tells him that they used to dance together. Just then Jill walks in and says, "When you could tear yourself away from the bar long enough." As the two start to go at it again, Cane interrupts, "That's enough!" But the gloves are off as Katherine informs Jill that she stole her husband! As they argue incessantly, Cane yells again, "Enough! This is ancient history! What about me - what about me!" He rails at them for their behavior. "The man was my father! I'm disgusted! He would be disgusted! And so should you two!" As Cane and Jill slam out of the conference room, Kay seems to be taking a dizzy spell.
Kevin is frantic at the coffeehouse as he cannot handle the large crowd of customers. With deep regret, he is forced to call his mother and beg for her help! Enjoying the moment, Gloria finally relents to come and assist him - right after she meets with the appraiser. As Kevin goes out of his mind at Crimson Lights, a shocked Gloria is stunned to be told by the appraiser that her diamonds are all cubic zirconia!
Back at Restless Style, Jack gets off of the phone and announces that Kathy Hilton has agreed to do a series of live chats on the Webzine! Nick says it's the first he's heard of it and they should talk. Phyllis says goodbye to Daniel and warns him, "No piercings!" Amber says goodbye as well, and as Daniel and Danny walk out, Amber remarks to Phyllis, "He's two seconds closer to coming home!" Rolling her eyes, Phyllis replies, "Yeah."
