Renewing Their Vows? Tuesday, May 20 2008

Cane and Chloe keep a secret, Brad baits David, Jeffrey visits Gloria.

At the coffee house, Chloe comes in sporting a migraine. Cane looks at pictures of Lily and comments on how beautiful she is and Chloe says that she has to resurrect her non-career since she isn’t on the cover of Restless Style. Chloe asks if she was dancing on the table tops and Cane admits she did get a little rowdy. Chloe recalls kissing Cane but doesn't think it was a big deal. She would prefer if he didn't mention it to Lily but Cane refuses to keep secrets from his girlfriend.

At Jabot, Jill and Brad wait for an office meeting and as David and Nikki arrive, Jill announces, "Here come the King and Queen." Brad teases that he could have won the office pool, if he'd have known! He comments on how big the ring is to David and that it must have set him back a lot of money. Nikki sets the meeting back a couple of hours as she needs to talk to Lily about the Restless Style cover. Nearby, Nikki and Lily discuss the cover not making it to print and Lily apologizes for not doing a good enough job. Nikki says that magazines don’t reshoot unless there is a problem and she needs to find out what it was and how Restless Style is going to compensate them. Nikki calls Restless Style and excuses Lily as she leaves a message for Nick to call her.

Outside the office, Brad says he is surprised that David spent that kind of money on the ring when he owes him so much. David says the ring is an heirloom and Brad quips that he knows now David is good for it and asks for a payment this week.

Alistair enters Jabot to an unwelcoming Jill, who says he's not to come here anymore. Alistair then tells her about the stash of diamonds.

At Jabot, Lily meets with Chloe and she teases her about being drunk. Cane arrives and Chloe why she didn’t tell Lily they met earlier. Chloe tells Cane, “It is over... whatever it was?” Lily asks what is going on and Chloe tells her it is nothing.

Alistair and Jill discuss the diamonds in her office until Cane interrupts. Jill lies that Alistair is applying for a job at Jabot. As Cane leaves he meets Chloe and teases her about being his friend. She tells him to stop messing with her and comments that she had to make up a story to tell Lily.

David enters Nikki’s office and gives her souvenir coins from their trip to Mexico! She gives him a new inscribed watch. It reads, “We will always have Mexico.” As they are kissing Brad walks in and says they've a company to run. He will have some paperwork to sign in regards to the Malaysian project. He couldn’t afford to have the factory go on strike and made a decision without them. Both David and Nikki are upset that he went ahead without discussing it first. When Nikki receives a call, David and Brad leave and David angrily tells Brad that he made an obvious power play. Brad reminds him he is in no position to question him. He made the decision since they were nowhere to be found.

In Gloria’s room, Gloria talks to the bank in the Cayman Islands and tells them to send her diamonds to her immediately and discretely! Someone knocks on the door and when she answers it Jeffrey enters and tells her that he is leaving Genoa city and that he came for his passport. She tells him to get it quickly and that he cannot leave fast enough for her. Jeffrey tells her that his leaving town will not let her off the hook. She asks him if he is going back to his precious Keyone? As they are arguing, the fax comes in from the bank. Gloria looks uncomfortable and rushes to get it. He grabs it and sees that it is from a bank and tells her he won’t leave until she tells him what is going on. She says she has an income, but he notices that it is from the Caymans and doesn't believe her. Gloria tells him he got everything and she has nothing to hide. She opens the door for him to leave and he runs to hide around the corner as she exits. He comes back to her room and tries to get into it, but it is locked. Jeffrey returns awhile later and makes up a story to the cleaning lady about forgetting his key. The cleaning lady says it's against policy to let him into the room, but he manipulates her with money and is let in. He doesn’t find the fax but is caught on his way out, by Alistair, who tells Jeffrey that he has information on his ex that he might want to know.

At Jabot, Cane tells Chloe that they need to talk about the kiss. She doesn't think it's a big deal but he tells her that she needs to show he and Lily respect. He reminds her that she is an employee and thinks she has to clean up her act. He thinks his mother was right when she told him that Chloe is bossy, self-absorbed and high maintenance.

Later, Cane approaches Lily and takes her to a private area and kisses her. Chloe interrupts but Cane tells her that they are in the middle of something. Lily tells her that Nikki isn’t happy with her losing the cover. Jill enters and she calls Cane out. Chloe tells Lily that one day she will be very famous and that she will be getting big cover shoots. Chloe leaves to go tell Nikki what Lily is worth to the company and when she meets with Nikki on the way, she makes a rude comment about her new last name and the fact that she changes it so often. Chloe shows Nikki Lily’s proofs and Nikki takes them to show the art department, obviously impressed. Chloe tells Cane that Nikki loved the proofs and as Lily comes into the room, he says great!

David goes into Nikki's office for reports and flashes back to their marriage. He looks at his watch and flashes back to the card game and then Brad asking him for payments. Nikki comes in and gives him the counterfeit article. David says that Brad tried to justify not contacting him and that he is his boss.

Gloria enters work and Brad tells her she is late. Gloria replies that she was working in her suite as Alistair comes into the room. Alistair teases her about their night together and she tells him that although he looks like John, that is where the resemblance stops. He invites her to visit him at the club and she asks him on whose dime is he staying there again. Jill listens in, approaches Gloria, and they argue about Jeffrey leaving.

At Jabot, David gives a spiel about the new Beauty of Nature line to which Jill is not impressed. Gloria chimes in with a way to advertise the line and when she is cut off, Nikki supports her and asks her to go ahead with her idea. A call comes in from the warehouse in Chicago and the meeting is adjourned for a few minutes. Gloria thanks Nikki for supporting her and they both comment about the ring and lack of one.

After the meeting, Brad apologizes for being heavy handed and he tells David to forget about the deadline on the money. He plays David and tells him that he should be able to get the money from their new joint bank account. He asks David why there was no pre-nuptial agreement. David ignores the question and tells him that he will get his money soon.

Later, David begs a credit card company not to cut off his card and tells them that he will pay them before the week’s end. As Nikki comes into the office he pretends that he is talking to the people in Mexico about paying the wedding bill. She feels that they are in it together and wants to help him pay for it. David inquires about a joint account, but Nikki offers to write a check instead.

Cane and Chloe meet and she tells him that she has a Chloe story. He tells her he has one of his own, but when Lily praises Chloe, and Chloe enters the room, Cane stays silent. Chloe makes a phone call and tells Sublime that they don’t want to lose Lily so they need to fly to them both to New York as soon as possible. Later, Lily comes over and tells Cane that she just got a call from Sublime and they want to represent her. Chloe pretends not to know about it as Lily tells her she is going to New York.

At the office, Gloria is on the phone with the bank to have a bonded messenger bring her the diamonds when she faxes them her signatures.

At the club, Jeffrey talks on the phone to get an immediate flight to the Grand Cayman Islands.

Nikki states to Victoria, "Your father can be very generous and also very vindictive." Victoria comments that Sabrina doesn't know she cannot have one without the other.

David asks why the bank needs to talk to his wife to adjust his credit.
