Wager on a Wedding?

Wednesday, May 07 2008
Nikki and David set the date. Brad starts reading Adrian's book. Lily and Cane talk.

At Jabot, Chloe looks up as Lily comes into the conference room declaring herself to be a "lean, mean, modeling machine"! She shows Chloe the photo proofs from the shoot she's just been on, and she is impressed. During this exchange, Cane comes in. He kisses Lily and notes that she must be exhausted, but she merely asks Chloe what's next! Concerned that Lily is hiding her grief in her work, Cane looks worriedly after her as she and Chloe leave the room!

At Crimson Lights, Colleen asks Kevin if he has told Jana about the book yet. He says he hasn't, and tells Colleen that it is time to call Michael about this! Colleen says she just needs a little more time! As Jana comes through the door, Kevin asks Colleen not to say anything more about the book. When he walks away, Colleen and Jana share information about their respective new job offers. Colleen's headed to Shanghai and Jana to Sabrina's gallery! Once alone with Kevin, Jana shares with him that she has been offered a job. Sensing his disappointment, she explains that she won't be leaving Crimson Lights entirely! She tells him she would be the assistant to the curator at the new art gallery and he is thrilled for her! Inside, Colleen calls Lily and tells her she really needs her advice!

Victor surprises Sabrina who is immersed in art magazines. They share a kiss and he says it was worth the trip to her office! As they embrace, a man comes in carrying a teal-colored canvas. The artist agrees to leave the piece with them for a day, but Victor asks for two days. The artist agrees and Victor smiles. "Cool." When the young man has left he and Sabrina continue their kissing. Victor decides that he'll buy the teal-colored canvas for her office and she is thrilled. She notes that he must be pretty unhappy at Newman right now - he seems to want to be at Sabrina's office or at the Ranch.

At Jabot, Nikki tells Victoria that she is embarking on a new chapter in her life. Victoria remarks that it is the one where they team up to bring down the father's company! Down the hall, David thanks Brad for his discretion the other night and Brad grins and says 'no problem'. They all wind up in the conference room and Jill joins them. Victoria immediately embarks upon a proposal to make Fresh Faces eco-friendly. They all act thrilled to hear about it, but when Nikki, David and Vikki leave the room, Jill scoffs to Brad that it's a terrible idea! In the other office, David makes a marketing pitch to Nikki and Victoria. He wants Jabot to sponsor an upcoming movie about the rainforest - which is the project of an old Vegas buddy of his! Nikki, surprisingly, signs on and even suggests that they tie in their labeling with the movie! Later, in the conference room, Nikki presents the idea to Jill and the rest of the executive. Jill asks to see a plan, but says she is impressed! After everyone is gone, Brad notes to Jill that if the script is a dog, or this movie producer is unreliable, this could be bad news. Jill looks thoughtful. Outside, in the hallway, Lily and Cane talk and she admits that she has been avoiding him. She confesses that being around him reminds her of the tragedy. He asks if they can get together later and talk. She agrees. Later, in another office, Brad and Victoria work together and things get a little testy as she reminds him about his illegal tactics with respect to hacking Newman's records. He asks her to lighten up, but all she will promise is civility! In the conference room, Nikki and David bask in the glow of their new idea and what a great team they make. She suggests they plan a great, big, beautiful wedding. "In, say, four months?!" David kisses her. Later, as David makes a bet on a horse over the phone, Brad overhears. Brad then calls the bookie and offers him $25,000 to make sure David bets on a sure loser! Brad then approaches David and tells him he would like to set up a repayment plan for the loan he gave him. David says it's no problem, but when Brad walks away, he looks concerned. Later, Nikki happens on David in the conference room. He is on a call and hollers at her that the Colonnade Room has a cancellation for August! Nikki balks at first. "The Colonnade Room is where I married Victor!" David says they'll have to do it somewhere else then, but Nikki changes her mind. "Let's do it!" Just then, Victoria walks into the room and Nikki announces that they've set a wedding date! Victoria looks less than thrilled!

Lily arrives at Crimson Lights and Colleen fills her in on Adrian's book. She explains that Adrian has no plans to stop the release of the book. She admits that she gave Brad a copy to read, and Lily warns that she had better tell Adrian about that! Colleen laments that she is either going to see her family badly hurt or lose her boyfriend! Meanwhile, Jana has gone back to the gallery to see Sabrina, who informs her that she is hired! Jana is happy, but worried about working for Victor Newman. Sabrina assures her that it will be fine. Back at Crimson Lights, Adrian arrives to meet Colleen and she informs him that she gave her father an advance copy of his book to read. Adrian stares in disbelief! "Why would you do that Colleen?" He angrily tells her it's a breach of trust! She says she is sorry, but she's concerned about her family! She tells him she thought that her family, and their relationship, was more important than some book! Adrian thanks her for underscoring how immature she is, and informs her that he is off to find her father - they'll have a lot to talk about! Nearby, Kevin has been listening to them argue. Meanwhile, in his office, Brad opens the book and starts to read!

At Newman Enterprises, Adam is getting moved into Victoria's office. He has a moment of discomfort when the moving man goes to remove Reed's bassinet. He heads down to see Victor, who has returned from the gallery, and informs him that he feels he doesn't belong in Victoria's office. He says she was an asset to the company. Victor muses that if anyone else had resigned from his company effective immediately, they would have a hard time regaining his trust! Adam is concerned about his part in Victoria leaving the company. Victor reassures him, telling him that Victoria was intimidated because he was genuinely competitive - and he gets that from his dad! Adam worries that his mother wouldn't be proud of him right now, but Victor says she would be proud, but notes that the worrying is something he gets from his mother - the competitive part of his nature he gets from dad! Later, Victor goes to see Adam in the other office and invites him to move to the Ranch so they can get to know one another better. Adam promises to think about it. Sabrina arrives at Newman and tells Victor she has great news - they got the painting! He tells her how glad he is that she has come into his life. She tells him that she feels the same way.

Lily goes to meet Cane at the Club. She discusses her feelings about losing the baby. She tells him that she has tried to pretend that she hadn't given her heart away, but she had! Cane then says he has a surprise for her. As he leaves the table, Madam Chauvin comes in and greets Lily. When Lily tries to tell the woman she is doing great, she calls Lily's bluff. Lily admits to what has been happening in her life, and Madame reminds her that she is very strong like her mother! She invites her to come to the studio and take a class. Lily says she doesn't dance, but Madame Chauvin says she's not talking about dancing, but living! Cane comes back and leads her to a private room he has had set up for them. He urges her to talk with him, now that they are alone. She says she just wants her life back! She suggests they start by going out on a date. He laughingly accepts!

Next on The Young and the Restless

Nikki runs into Adam at the Club bar and says she thought he'd be out celebrating!

Jack tells Nick if this first issue isn't a home-run out of the park, they may not get a second issue!

Sabrina tells Victor their love has come at such a high price, and he says anything worthwhile in life has a high price.

Has everyone forgotten Gloria is responsible for a woman's death? It's inconceivable to me how, even on a SOAP, you can get away with murder ...

Even Phyllis, back in the day, tried to kill Cricket. And look where the writer's have her today.

Gloria and the tainted cream. Woman dies. Gloria has Jack kicked out of his Father's company, blah blah blah.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Your message is CRIME DOES PAY ....

caf8nd

you know that would be a good interesting story line and would make more sense then the ones they got now. the only thing is they would have to make Nate a lil older then Lily, i didn't like the fact they age progressed Lily and not Nate and he was born before lily.

They really need to connect with past members of the show instead of bring on new characters that have absolutely no connection to the show what so ever and when they do make a connect it is so far strecth beyond the imagination.

I could see Jill and Nikki as a formidable business team, but Gloria? I just don't see what she'd contribute to a business. At least Jill and Nikki, even though their coming-up-through-the-ranks was seedy, have actually been successfully settled in a business setting. It has taken years for viewers to see them this way (and in some viewers' cases, they still don't see Nikki that way yet). But Gloria just seems to want to go to the office as a way to rub the world's nose in the fact that she was married to John Abbott! Until they set her in a context that might convey to the view that she actually makes regular decisions about business, I'm just not feeling her vibe at Jabot.

You know Gloworm would of paid for her crime if Bardwell wouldn't of sent the cream or glove whatever he had done sent to be tested at a independent lab, by him doing that he violated the chain of command, so nobody knew about it but him and of course he crooked before he had a chance to do anything, so needless to say let's say if Jeff decides to send Gloworm to jail, she can claim he tainted the cream because it wasn't in police custody.

Yeah, that wasn't too bright to send only one Winters child to the Boarding School for the Rapidly Aging.

Now the $64 question is... who should they cast as Big Little Nate? And wouldn't it be an extra-big hoot if he came in with dirt on Cane's past?!?!

Chicky~~

I agree with you--Dru was a BIG Drama Queen, and Lily wears the same shoes. Drama Queen!!!

Ah, the cream. But if they were to somehow get Gloria to confess to contaminating the cream and get it on tape (hmmm... nanny cams in the boardroom, anyone?), then we'd have her confessing to the crime and we wouldn't need the cream jar, the lab results, or the blackmailing-spouse-who-gets-a-conscience! Come on, Jill! Just set up a nanny cam in the Jabot boardroom! It's been done before! If we're going to recycle a storyline, let's recycle the nanny cam!

Speaking of nanny cams in the Jabot boardroom, I haven't seen Kevin at Jabot in a looooong time. There was a time where Kevin must have had clones - he was at the coffeehouse, the office, the condo, the jail... and wouldn't it be just SWEET if he were the nanny-cam-setter-upper, and his nanny cam inadvertently caught the evidence!

cafn8d: I agree, Jill and Nikki sure, they have proven themselves. What has Gloria done. She is dumb as a stump, she has no business running a business just because her husband ran one. If my husband is a doctor it sure doesn't make me one.
Nikki at least has a brain and hasn't killed anyone.

I would love to see a storyline with Adrian and Heather. I saw sparks there. Perhaps this book, DA thing could work.....just a thought

Posted by DIMEREY at Wednesday, May 07 2008 12:06 PM

Colleen is really acting childish, all she has to do is ask Adrian to change the names, to protect the innocent and all He has to do is change the names. Why is that so hard? I don't understand these writers, people are not that dumb. Nikki on the other hand is about as dumb as she looks. I would have had Paul to investigate David Chow by now. Adam is just like his father. Victor and Sabrina is not a good match. Nick and Phyliss is so cute together and Sharon and Jack are the odd couple, but it serves Sharon right to see her ex-husband so happy. She forgot all the dirt she did.
