Newman Anonymous!

Tuesday, May 06 2008
Nick learns about his sister, Adam threatens Restless Style, Nikki and Jill have it out, and Colleen deals with a big problem!

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis and Nick are fixing their coffee when he receives a text message from his sister asking him to meet her at Newman Enterprises right away. He then tells a reluctant Phyllis that she'll have to take the meeting with Adam for him. Meanwhile, Adam is speaking with Skye in his room, when Phyllis calls and arranges to meet him. Skye asks him who Phyllis is, and he replies, "Strictly business." Skye's not buying it though! Meanwhile, Nick arrives over at Newman and J.T. and Victoria bring him up to speed on her resignation. As she packs up her desk, Nick seems puzzled. He asks J.T. how he feels about Vikki leaving. J.T. admits he'll miss seeing her and Reed around the building, but says his wife is happy. Once alone, Victoria and Nick discuss their life in Victor's shadow, and she jokes that they should start "Newman Anonymous"! Nick laughs, then notes that Adam will be joining it too eventually!

On the first floor of the Restless Style building, Sabrina welcomes Victor in. He tells her that he is still upset about Victoria leaving the company. Sabrina tells him to consider that Nick and Victoria may just need to find their own paths. Victor says that would be fine, except that they both left in anger. He admits it feels like Victoria has left him - not just the company! Sabrina tries to reassure him that Victoria loves him. Suddenly, Neil comes in looking for Victor's signature on some papers. Victor breaks the news to Neil that Victoria has left Newman. Neil is stunned as Victor explains his daughter's issues, and says he hopes she'll come back one day.

At Jabot, Jill overhears Gloria talking to her lawyer and telling him she definitely wants to go ahead with the charitable donation! As Jill approaches, she hangs up. Jill tells her that when people dump huge sums of money on charity, the motives are often shady! Jill then heads into the conference room, and is shocked by Nikki's announcement that Victoria will be coming to work for Jabot! Jill is rude about Victoria conveniently having her mother to give her a job, and Brad pipes up that it is Jabot's gain. Nikki, meanwhile wonders aloud what is going on over at Newman! Later, Brad and Jill talk about Victoria coming to the company. Jill wonders how good a fit she will be, and Brad says she will do nicely, but may be distracted by the new baby and marriage! Later, as Jill and Nikki argue over Nikki's use of an ad agency Jabot had once let go, Nikki angrily asks Jill what this animosity is really about. "Do you think I'm padding the payroll?" As Jill makes snarky remarks about Nikki hiring her fiance and her daughter, Nikki responds that she would never hire someone as a favor, and Victoria's work will be exemplary!

Kevin is approached by a distressed Colleen at Crimson Lights. She tells him that Adrian's book is coming out and back when he was researching it, she told him everything about her family, and also told Adrian he could use real names! Kevin realizes that Jana will be in the book and Colleen apologizes. When Jana approaches him later, Kevin is impatient with her as he worries. He goes back over to Colleen and tells her she has to get her boyfriend to kill the book! Just then, Jeffrey walks in and Jana wastes no time in reminding him that he truly loves Gloria. He groans about it for a moment, then calls Jill for a lunch date. Back across the room, Colleen sits down with Adrian, who has just come in, and tells him that it was wrong of her to allow him to use real names - she was so angry back then! She asks him not to publish his book! On the other side of the room, Jana has it out with Jeffrey about his reluctance to just give Gloria a chance - she's trying so hard to change her karma after all! Jana later tells Kevin her take on Jeff and Gloria, but Kevin warns her not to encourage him. Jana leaves and Gloria comes in. Over at their table, Adrian asks Colleen what it is she would like him to tell his publisher?! Colleen protests that it's her family! Adrian refuses to do it, and she asks if he could at least pull the sections that will cause the most trouble. Adrian gets up and leaves! Kevin rushes over and asks Colleen how it went. She says "terrible." She tells Kevin she is going to find her dad! She heads down to Jabot and finds Brad alone in the conference room. She tells him she has an advanced copy of Adrian's book - and it's bad! Meanwhile, back at Jabot, Gloria approaches Jeff and asks if he really wants to divorce her, just as he is about to answer, Jill walks in to meet him for lunch. Gloria walks away. Across the room, Kevin calls Jana, but gets no response. Jana, however, is at that moment accepting a job as Sabrina's assistant!

Skye and Adam arrive on the main floor of the Club, and they spot Phyllis. As Adam and Skye say goodbye, she wishes him 'happy hunting' as she says goodbye. They agree to speak 'whenever', and he goes into the dining room to sit with Phyllis. She notices the lipstick and teases him. Grinning, he admits he was just saying goodbye to a friend. As talk turns to the ad, Phyllis tells him they had to change the layout. Adam is not happy about losing position and space to Forrester and threatens to pull their ad permanently if the original agreement isn't honored. He then tells Phyllis he has another meeting and says he hopes they meet again under less contentious circumstances. She agrees.

As Victor arrives back at Newman Enterprises and sits at his desk, J.T. comes in to tell him about a minor problem. Victor tells him that he has been an asset, but he thinks it's time for him to move on. J.T. asks, "I'm being fired?" Victor explains that his job requires a great deal of confidentiality, which might be compromised with his wife no longer working there. J.T. is insulted, and informs Victor that he is a very loyal person and stands by his word! He tells Victor that if he goes through with this, he'll be losing two good employees in one day! Victor stops his son-in-law as he is walking out and tells him he liked that answer! "I'd like you to stay." Meanwhile, down the way, Victoria is saying goodbye to Neil. She tells him about her decision to go to Jabot. He says he'll miss the idea of seeing her in the big man's chair one day, and she tells him that perhaps it was meant for him! After Neil leaves, Sabrina stops in and says she is sorry that Victoria is leaving like this. Meanwhile, in Victor's office, Nick visits and urges his father to try and stop Victoria from leaving. When Victor refuses, Nick tells him he will never change and stalks out past Sabrina. As she settles in the office and tells Victor they've won the latest auction, he tells her that he is falling more in love with her by the day! Down the hall, Victoria sadly turns out the light in her office and shuts the door for the last time! Nick, in the meantime, heads back to Restless Style and fills Phyllis in on Victoria's job change. She informs him that unless he can talk him out of it - Adam is pulling the Beauty of Nature ad! Victoria, meanwhile, has gone straight over to Jabot where Nikki welcomes her with a big hug! Back at Newman, Adam arrives and Victor informs him that he and Victoria have had a falling out and he would like to offer Adam her office! Appearing stunned and somewhat concerned, Adam says, "Thank you, sir. I would like that." Victor barks, "I want you to move in right away." As Victor leaves, Adam looks worried.

Next on The Young and the Restless

Nikki tells Victoria that this is a new chapter in her life. Victoria replies, "How the mother and the daughter teamed up to bury the father's company!"

David makes more bets over the phone.

Brad tells a bookie that there is $25,000 in it for him if he can get David to bet big on a sure loser!

I think that it is about time Victor let his spoiled children and unappreciative wife all fall on their faces. Victor needs love just like everyone else. This group of people is just self. They need to learn how to seperate business and family.

I love Jack when he is good and when he is bad. I am a Jakie fan.

To hear Nick tell it he doesn't have any millions, he is borrowing against his trust fund AND what that tells me is Nick will go broke pretty soon using his own money and Jack giving nothing!!!

I don't think being spoiled is the problem. It's Victor's bad attititude, and his need to control everything and everybody.
What is spoilish about being upset at your father taking away your job and giving it to a basically unknown brother who has no experience in running the company? Who wouldn't be upset?
What is spoilish about not wanting your elderly father to date your best friend?
What is spoilish about wanting to start your own company? So what if he dipped in to his trust fund. What did Victor start a trust fund for? For his children to use for things like starting a company when they got older. Nick started the coffee houses on is own, without trust fund money. He also sold them for a pretty good price, and he has been working since a young age, so he does have some money.
What is spoilish about any of that?
Victor is acting like a spoiled brat because his children would rather be on their own than under his thumb.
So what?

Go Judy Bo Booty! You took the words out of my mouth... or fingers? Whatever. Well said!

I laugh like mad when I remember Victator railing about Nick using trust fund money to start RS... once you put $ into a trust, it is no longer solely yours, it belongs to the trust entity, which will do with that money for the benefit of the named beneficiaries. So as long as the terms of the trust agreement aren't being violated, Victator can shut his piehole. The money isn't his anymore! And if Nick saw that money as an opportunity to establish his own path... well, wasn't that money originally put into the trust to ensure he'd be taken care of? So he COULD make it on his own? Too bad, Victator. Nick IS making it on his own as far as I'm concerned, with resources that are his to use as he wishes. If you're regretting making that trust an asset he could use as a business tool eventually, then you should have written the trust agreement differently!

But I also agree with all y'all about what other money is going into RS??? We never hear about their contributions! Not very realistic to ignore that, if you ask me...

I think Brad's bubble is going to burst when Adrian's book comes out. I still say Victor is going to get sick and then Adam is going to pounce on NE. Except for Neil, no one else is there to challenge him since Vikki and Nick are gone.

Victor just isn't thinking rationally -- that's why I think he is going to have a spell.

Judy-bo-boothy you hit the nail right on the head with your entire posting regarding Victator and the way he treat his entire family. If I should give my kids something that would be benefical to them in the future then I should not be expecting my kids to be forever in my debt. This was my gift to them to use as they see fit. I will be the first person to rejoice when I see Victator fall on his face.

judy_bo_booty, you go. I absolutely agree and said so the other day. She gets replaced by her brother who just started. Degree or not, doesn't matter. She learnt from a young age, by the almighty victor newman. Now, Mr. Degree comes along and wham, your out of a job and daddy wonders why you could be upset. Get a life. Victor isn't stupid but as of late, they are making him stupid.
I can't wait till the first time he yells at Adam the way he yells and Nick and Victoria, he will sh-- his pants and go running. It will happen, Victor can't keep his temper at bay for very long. Can't wait to see those fire works. smug Adam will get his day.
I think Victoria will start to get a story line now, get the strong woman back that we all knew before. Perhaps JT will get a back bone again too.
Like I said before, I would love to see some juicy story lines with Brad/Nikki/Victoria, Jill/Brad. Not Jeffery, please writers don't go there.

Remember that Jill hired Cane. As far as we know, he is in the family, but they don't know anything about him.
