Jack gets news from his lawyer, Victor receives some surprising visitors, and Gloria and Kevin proceed with their plan!
Neil and Victor meet at Newman Enterprises and Neil says they are short-handed and need a head-hunter, but Victor stops him and says he'll do his own hiring. Neil then broaches the subject of advertising in Nick's magazine. Victor notes that it was pretty gutsy of his son to ask and he wants no part of it. Neil reminds him it's a good business deal, but Victor nixes it completely. As Neil presses his boss to reconsider, Victor exclaims that he wants no part of this mess! Neil is frustrated as Victor walks out. As Victor returns to his office, he is surprised to see Brad stroll in 'for a chat'. They trade a few barbs and Victor orders him out. In the hallway, Brad smirks.
At the tack house, they try to come up with a name for the magazine. Phyllis notes how they were all at a crossroads when they gave birth to the idea; in a word, "restless'. They all love it, but Nick checks online and finds out the name is already taken. They brainstorm and come up with "Restless Style". It's available! In the ensuing excitement, Nick answers the phone. "Restless Style magazine how can I help you?!" It's Neil breaking the news that Victor killed the deal. As he hangs up, Nick and Jack wonder who Victor wants to hurt more. Sharon calls Noah at Sam's house, and when she hangs up, Jack assures her that Gloria and Jeffrey will be out soon. They decide to head for a drink at the Club and Jack gives Nick a pep talk about their setback with Victor. Once they're gone, Phyllis realizes Nick is more upset than he let on. Nick decides to go and confront his father even though they both know it won't help! As he arrives at Newman, he passes Brad in the hall carrying a box. He strides into his father's office and tells him that he realizes his decision has nothing to do with business. Victor challenges, "What the hell do you know about the magazine business?!" Nick retorts, "We're going to find out aren't we?!" As Nick leaves, Victor looks upset. Later, J.T. comes in and asks Victor for permission to do some upgrades to the security system. Victor ok's it and then asks how things are at the loft. J.T. admits it's tight and they need to find a house. Victor offers to advance him the money to buy the house Nikki is living in on the ranch. J.T. says it's very generous, and Victor tells him he and Victoria make him very proud!
As Gloria's family dinner party gets into full swing, Jeffrey announces to all that he brokered a deal with Jack that day to move out of the house. Kevin is worried about his wedding, but Jeff says they'll find he and Jana a funeral home to have it in - Kevin's loves it. Michael advises Gloria to take the money and run! As chat continues, Michael coyly announces that he has just come from visiting Korea. Jeffrey shares that he has an ex-flame there who calls him constantly - she just can't accept that he's happily married! After some choking and throat-clearing around the table, Jeffrey continues by saying the woman has a large, poor family - he sends them money out of the kindness of his heart! Gloria and Kevin excuse themselves for a moment - they go get the poison and Kevin puts a lot in her drink! Back at the table, Jeffrey assures Michael that he hasn't sent enough money to his jilted lover to put even a dent in his mother's fortune. After they all are seated at the table again, Gloria goes into full collapse mode and Kevin hollers, "Oh my God! Someone call 911!" Jeffrey sits at the dinner table smirking and chewing his food!
At Crimson Lights, Heather and Maggie discuss the stalled Ji Min murder case. They commiserate over finding nothing incriminating at the Abbott house, and Heather announces it's time for her to tell their boss the truth about the case so she can move on with her career. Paul comes in and joins them. Heather brings him up to speed on her decision. Inside the coffee house, Daniel approaches Amber, who tells him that Heather is outside and seems upset. Outside, Heather has made her call to the boss who hangs up on her! Paul encourages her to look at all the possibilities out there - maybe it's time for a change. Heather notes that she doesn't much believe in herself. Inside, Amber coaxes Daniel to go ask Heather out and not to worry about her feelings. Daniel goes and asks Heather, who accepts. Amber watches sadly as they leave together. Paul and Maggie discuss Heather and remark on how much progress he's made with her... Later, at the Club, Heather thanks Daniel for dinner and invites him back to her place for a nightcap!
Jack and Sharon arrive at the Club bar and order drinks. They discuss the bottle in Gloria's purse - they can't figure out what it was! Sharon toasts Gloria - for bringing her and Jack closer together than ever! Jack takes a call from his lawyer. He hangs up and tells Sharon that he's been advised he is no longer a person of interest in the Ji Min investigation! Sharon is thrilled!
At Jabot, Nikki arranges to meet David for dinner... Meanwhile, at home, Victoria emails her friend Sabrina again as she hasn't yet received a response... Later, Victoria takes Reed for a visit at Jabot. Nikki is thrilled. Victoria tells her mother that she saw her father earlier and he didn't hold anything back about his son! Nikki asks, "Nicholas?" Victoria shakes her head and explains that Victor has offered Vic Jr. a job at Newman. As they discuss Victoria still feeling tired, she tells Nikki that she is returning to work next week. Nikki seems concerned. Victoria leaves and heads over to visit Phyllis and Summer at the tack house. They discuss business and Phyllis suggests Victoria join them in their venture. Victoria says it might be more exciting, but Victor needs her at Newman. Nick comes in right then. Vikki asks what's wrong and Nick warns her they shouldn't discuss it. "I'll just start complaining about what a jerk dad is, you'll start defending him - and I'll have to kick you out of my crib!" Nick urges her to join them, but she declines. Nikki comes in just then, and they begin discussing Vic Jr. Nick rolls his eyes, "You mean the fine young man with the Harvard education?"... Meanwhile, at Newman, Victor looks up from a phone call to see Victor Jr. standing in his office. "Well I'll be damned!"
