As everyone in town discusses their opinion on Victor's arrest for murder, Jeffrey announces his engagement to Gloria, and Brad professes his love for Sharon.
Phyllis and Nick arrive at Newman Enterprises in mid discussion about whether or not Victor could have killed Ji Min. Nick remarks that his father thinks Jack did it... Meanwhile, Ben and Jack are conferring at the Abbott house. Ben asks Jack what his plans are for the future. Jack retorts, "Gee dad, do I have to decide right now?" Ben urges him to write a book, but Jack declines to journal the falling apart of his life. Sharon comes into the room and announces that she has a meeting regarding a new campaign - with Brad! Jack nervously sees Sharon out the door. He then tells Ben that he still has his fears about whether their marriage will survive. Ben assures Jack that Sharon must love him - after all he put her through, most women would have left! Jack distractedly agrees, but thinks back to seeing her holding hands with Brad at the Club the previous day.
As Daniel enters Heather's office, she spills her beverage over the papers on her desk. She asks abruptly what he wants and he says he has her check for the car repairs. She apologizes. They engage in some small talk about the Victor case and her seeming overtired. He asks if she would take a break and go get some dinner with him. She replies, "Are you asking me out?" He tells her he doesn't think she's completely heartless. She giggles, but passes. He asks if she would join him some other time then. She hesitates and he takes that as a "no" and leaves.
Lauren and Gloria prepare for the dinner party. Lauren continues to pry as Gloria behaves in a tense manner. Gloria tells Lauren she just needs to get to know Jeffrey, but Lauren says, "Why don't you just level with me?!" Gloria leaves the room, asking Lauren to move her purse. As she does so, Lauren discovers the expensive jewelry inside! Gloria comes back into the room and Lauren says, "You're stealing jewelry now?" Gloria tells her it's an investment. Lauren presses her about all this foolishness. Gloria mocks Lauren for playing armchair detective. Michael suddenly comes in toting heavy boxes of files for Victor's case. Lauren holds up the jewelry and tells him the plot has thickened. They check Gloria's purse and find the imprint of the check she wrote to Jeffrey for $50,000. Michael bellows, "Gloria, get out here now!" Gloria comes out of the other room and says he needed a down payment for a property he is buying. As Lauren and Gloria act incredulous, the doorbell rings and Jeffrey arrives. Over drinks, Gloria mentions that Kevin will be late. They all discuss Victor's arrest. Michael asks Jeffrey about the property he's buying and he acts confused. Gloria jumps in and says she floated Jeffrey the loan for a house he found over on Sycamore. Michael and Lauren are very suspicious.
Kevin visits Jana at the prison and continues with his optimism about getting her out of prison and the pair of them getting married. He explains he has done research and feels her medical issues may trump the legal ones. He's taking his findings to Heather Stevens today!
Back at Newman, Nick and Phyllis continue to debate the issue of Jack or Victor having killed Ji Min. Phyllis remarks that they didn't have enough evidence to arrest Jack - but they did have enough to arrest Victor. Nick points out that Victor feels Jack tampered with the evidence to frame him. They both agree that they don't know what to believe!
At Crimson Lights, Amber watches over Daniel's shoulder as he job hunts on his laptop. She mentions that "Marina" has sent her application in to the Jabot contest. Daniel feels it is just a bad idea. She insists she entered it to prove she can win it. He tells her the plan is half-baked, and she gets angry. Heather comes in and orders a coffee to go. Daniel again asks her to eat with him. She claims she'd rather be alone. He goads her into agreeing and they sit down. As she eats quickly he urges her to slow down and asks when she is taking a vacation - she needs one! They begin talking about surfing and other things they enjoy. He tells her he has confidence she can take down Victor Newman - she is pleased. He tells her after the case is done with, he'll teach her how to surf. She excuses herself to get back to the office. Amber comes over and mocks Daniel for drooling over the woman who put his mother in prison. Daniel denies drooling. Kevin comes in and announces happily that Jana has agreed to marry him, if he can get her out of prison! He says he's going over to Heather's office and Amber laughs as Daniel offers to tag along! After they leave, Amber checks the website and sees that there are many entries for the contest - she hatches a plan to ask Kevin to get rid of some of them!... Meanwhile, Kevin and Daniel arrive at Heather's office. She suggests he bring his evidence to Jana's lawyer - his brother. He pleads that Jana deserves to be free... At the prison, Jana holds a photo of her and Kevin and smiles.
In the meeting room, Sharon tells Brad she really likes the marketing materials for the new campaign. Brad turns it into an opportunity to compliment her, but she ignores him. She tells Brad about the great family night she, Noah and Jack had. They discuss Victor's arrest briefly and Brad tells her that he isn't allowed to visit Victoria. They turn their attention back to the campaign and Brad sits very closely with his arm on the back of her chair... Meanwhile, Jack tries to reach Sharon on her cell phone but it is turned off. The doorbell rings and it's Phyllis. He tells her he is doing great, but Phyllis calls him a liar! ... Back at the meeting, Brad tells Sharon he respects her decision and wishes her good luck. She says she'll need it! As they draw closer together, Brad whispers, "Who are we kidding, Sharon?" Suddenly Nick comes in and interrupts the moment, but excuses himself. When he's gone, Sharon says she needs to go meet her husband for dinner, but Brad stops her. He asks what she is doing with her life, "I love you Sharon, and I think you still love me too!" Sharon replies that she doesn't think she knows what she wants anymore. Brad moves in and begins kissing her. A seemingly conflicted Sharon struggles with whether to give in or not.
In the Abbott living room, Jack cuts off Phyllis's small talk and says he knows she's there to find out about Victor's arrest. Phyllis asks Jack straight out if he had anything to do with it, "I know you're capable of some pretty under-handed stuff." Jack smiles, "Right back at ya', sweetheart!" Phyllis tells him that this has been hell for her husband, and Jack replies that Nick is lucky he has her. Jack then assures her that he did not kill Ji Min and he doesn't know if Victor did, but they certainly had enough evidence to arrest him. She leaves to go back to Newman, and tells her husband that Jack swears he didn't frame Victor and that it looks very bad for his father. Nick asks if she believes Jack, and she replies that she wants to. He tightly says that she must think his father is guilty then. She says she didn't say that, but suggests that maybe something happened in the heat of the moment. Nick is upset and appears to be struggling with his emotions as they embrace... Meanwhile, Jack has arrived at Newman looking for Sharon. Just as she pulls away from Brad's arms, Jack approaches and realizes the conference room door is locked. After she lets him in, he narrows his eyes suspiciously as she and Brad try to act nonchalant.
Kevin arrives home and Michael jokes that they saved him some potatoes and a green bean. Jeffrey jumps up and says it doesn't matter if he's late because he has great news - Gloria has consented to be his wife! Michael, Lauren and Kevin show no surprise, but Gloria looks ill!
