I am sure that William Russ is a good actor but NO ONE will replace VICTOR NEWMAN. I have watched this show for over 20 yrs and I can honestly say that when my other soaps took a turn for the worst Y&R stayed constant until now. How do you figure removing Victor Newman will benefit Y&R. I stopped actually watching the show when you had him bring in Patty and she went off the deep end and started hurting people. Victor would have never done anyting that would potentially hurt his family and Patty is a lose cannon. She is responsible for Summer's condition and the death of Colleen indirectly bringing Victor down with her. That's just not a plausible storyline. Victor has done some crazy things but nothing he couldn't come back from. Now you are trying to "redeem" Adam by having him get next to Sharon after the things he did to Ashley all in the name of getting back at Victor and Jack. And Ashley has never been so stupid how do you not realize you are no longer pregnant and had a miscarriage and let someone convince you that you got up in the middle of the night changed your nightgown and got back into bed. The writing is horrible. I read the updates and it was enough to make me stop watching and after Nov 2nd I will stop reading. I hope Sony and the producers of Y&R come to their senses before it's too late and Y&R goes the same way Passions and The Guiding Light did. It would be too sad. I am an unhappy fan and will miss the REAL Y&R.

I know this actor and he is a good actor. But he will never hold a candle to Eric Bradeden. Eric is charismatic and has been playing the part of a billionaire for which by the way he is very well suited for 30 years. William Russ can never be Victor. He doesn't have the right look and he certainly does not look like a billionaire. I have been watching the Young and the Restless for over 35 years and I have to say that the storylines now are terrible and really upsetting at times. They undermine the viewers intelligence and also the actors who are playing them. Yes, it is a soap opera but lets remember that even in soaps there is reality. You don't just have babies and don't remember having them. This is getting way to weird for me. I will watch faithfully until November 2nd and pray that by some miracle they decide to hire Victor back and if they don't then I will be leaving with the Y & R and Nov. 2nd will be my last day that I will be wathching this show. So sad but I have to let go and as Eric said "Pull the Plug".

I agree with cescarl, this show is getting really crazy and the writers are really doing a terrible job lately. And now bringing in all these new people. I don't like it at all. They could not replace the real Y & R cast that have been there for years and that we as viewers are accustomed seeing. Do you remember when the real Victoria Newman (Heather Tom)left to go on to the bold and beautiful, and was replaced by this Victoria. It was never the same. Now think of Victor playing another character on the Bold or any other soap, it would be weird because after 30 years you would relate to him as Victor and not the character that he would be playing in the other soap. I hope that they don't put him on the Bold like they did Victoria and Brad. That would be a real shame. I love Victor and for anyone out there who feels the same as I do, let's celebrate his leaving by boycotting this show and Sony and not watching it anymore. VICTOR IS THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. HE IS THE SHOW!!!! FOR ALL YOU IDIOTS AT SONY THAT DON'T REALIZE THAT, WAKE UP AND READ THE FANS COMMENTS. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO KEEP THE SOAPS GOING.

not me i want to sees how all of this play out i think all of the storylines have been good and i have enjoy watching young and restless and seeing how the storylines been going and playing out like give this actor a chance maybe Niki or Ashley will both fall for him and there will be a good cat fight between them over him you don't what will happen im am looking forwarded to all of this. im not going to stop watching too many good things are going on here with lots of good storieslines here, and miss it no way im watching im am supporting my soap.

Can't believe they're really letting Eric Braeden go. Big mistake, but it really doesn't matter, as I'm going to stop watching (after more than 20 years), as producer Maria Arena Bell has ruined this once-great soap with absolutely ludicrous, demented storylines. People want to watch interpersonal drama, business intrigue, etc., not evil machinations and baby snatching. Bell should be fired.

No offense to this fine actor but I'm looking up anything Sony affiliated so I WON'T have the products in my home. It's just like corporate America with seniorss who kicks them aside as if they have no more value, i.e., EB

I have nothing against William Russ. I actually feel sorry for ANY actor being placed in this kind of position. CBS/Sony keep trying to sell fans on this character by saying it was in the works a long time ago. I don't think anyone is buying it. When anyone is brought in to fill a huge gap left by an icon, they are just being set up to fail.

Everyone I know is still leaving with Eric. My mind hasn't changed one bit. Clark Gable could have been cast as Tucker and I would still be leaving with Eric.
