I agree w/Chris and wish him the best. What the writers/execs did to him was uncalled for. Basically, they want to copy other soaps w/this kind of storyline. Sure, an actor should know that they might have to do the unexpected but an actor should not be put in a position where they play a heterosexual role and then, all of a sudden, they have to play a gay role (which might be against what the actor believes in...evidentally it was against Chris' beliefs! To me there was such a wide variety of ways to write Adam...other than making him gay...which would have made the show interesting. This is just a copycat of other shows. I feel like what happened to Chris is actually "reverse-discrimination"...plain and simple. When Chris took on the role, I'm sure he wasn't thinking the character was going to be written gay...not even close. Now it was held against him (he was recast instead of execs working with him). Shame on the execs and writers...you know what, Y&R will become a copy-cat soap w/nothing unique. They are just copying ATWT and GL now and Chris paid the price!

Incidentally, I'm not against gay people. I just think it's wrong to hold it against people who might not agree w/the lifestyle. It's like a double-standard - gay people don't like being discrimintated against so why should people who have certain religious beliefs be discriminated against because they aren't agreeing w/being gay? Nobody has a right to dictate what a person must believe and now it's like people are telling people who have a certain religious belief what to believe...not cool!

I was a great move to 'age' Adam and cast him with Chris Engen who did a great job with what he had. I wish him nothing but the best.
Maybe he saw the signs that the writing was on the wall. Off-contract, table scrap storylines....etc. Better to leave with your head held high. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to Adam's redemption. Revelations what drove him to what he did. Maybe Adam is the one who suffered a nervous breakdown after Sabrina's death.

Belief or no belief; U can't let someone sign a contract agreeing to certain terms and then just revamp the entire deal.

Anyhow, teamjack said everything I was thinking. With all how people talked against Lynn Marie Latham, the show was quite very interesting in those years. They weren't even nominated for Outstanding Drama this year. the true fact is, that old women and men with conservative views are the people mostly watching soaps. Nevermind the cheating and backstabbing.

I will say again, I don't think Y&R should go further with the Rafe thing. Nothing wrong with having diverse characters. They should stopping copying the other soaps.

julsiej; God will see to it that his career goes even further! At least he didn't sell his sole for fame like so many actors do these days. It is nice to see someone stand up for their convictions!

I could not have said that better! Enough is enough! I think the writers think this garbage is what viewers want to see, hopefully they have taken notice of all the posts regarding this subject.
