Why do we have a lot of gay partners on Y&R, but not enough cultural? I do not blame Chris (Adam) from leaving Y&R if he had to play a gay partner.

Kudos to Chris! The storyline direction with Adam has sucked since the beginning. Adam was definitely not Hope's son...he must have sprung from a demonic scarecrow on the farm.
Ok I accepted the demonization of Adam afterall he is Victors son. Having Adam take the fall for Jack regarding the bogus Victor diary was a bit of fun ... all right. But then having Adam fake his blindness and start this elaborate plan to get back at Victor by destroying Ashley!!
Alright Y&R you did get me into wanting to see Adam get caught. This is soap land after all. But having Adam all of sudden show he will go so far to sleep with a gay man to protect himself!!! The writers have really gone wrong with the way this is presented. Bring in a believable gay story line. The way YR decided to bring this concept in at this time is ridiculous..why even present Adam as previously hetro if this was the plan.
I've watched YR since it's inception and the reason I started watching YR was because they had a storyline on date rape. (Michael raped Cricket) It was a timely and edgy storyline. Now 30 years later Michael is well liked lawyer!!! well that's another thread all together.
Having a gay storyline on YR is timely, edgy...going in right direction. But then to present it in such a farce of a storyline! I hope the gay community takes YR to task for their extremely poor taste!
Thank you Chris for taking a stand to walk away...soap land is brutal but Y/R is currently just vicious.

Jombi, it's YR writers who showed their homophobia by using Adam *who was introduced a junior macho victor* as the means to bring in a gay storyline. Now all of a sudden we have gay men coming out of the woodwork of Y/R...Phillip, Raffe....bet Chance is gay.

I also quit watching because of the Noah storyline. I was hoping Y&R would not go that route but I was wrong. I tape these shows and just hit the fast forward button with Adam and Raef.

I liked the other Adam better. Its real hard to adjust to someone knew when you can still see the old one. This Adam
doesn't seem to play the part as well....but I am sure I will get used to him...eventually.... lol

Hi Candice...I would really like to hear why Chris left the show. I so think he played the part very well. So I hope I do see your post when you do find anything out! I am new on here so if there is tips on how to use this site, I would like very much to hear them too..LOL

Sorry he's not very good at his new role , there isn't the chemistry of the actors like the previous actor. Also, even he and rafe weren't very good together, or for that matter the actress that portrays heather. Just doesn't do much for me. An he doesn't do evil well at all. I know he was supposed to be faking his homosexuality but even that came across dry. Not very manipulative like you would expect, considering the storyline

The person playing the original Adam was given a very boring role. We all thought he was going to be a strong victor. They the writers) screwed up. The writers made him a looser instead of the cute debonair Victor Jr. This new Adam is Ugly. Bring back the other Adam and give him a interesting roll and not this house jail looser!

At least this actor looks like a Newman...tall and has stronger facial features like "Victor".I was pleasantly surprised when "Victor" accepted "Adam's" homosexuality.Bravo writers;it's always difficult for a parent to accept but "Victor" took it very well.

I also read in several articles that the original Adam left because of the direction the character was going. Who can blame him is right. He stated he was not leaving due to the character kissing a man but that he just didn't agree with the direction the character was going. I read this several months ago while he was still on the show. I TRULY believe he left for that obvious reason no matter what anyone says. These were numerous postings all over from various sources. One even commented on his reaction when he read the script. What a damn shame and who can blame him. Sheeesh!
