Hey Can-dance, et al,

I haven't been able to post for a while, but I've been reading when I get a chance to. I've missed putting in my two cents - or two bucks, or two C-notes, the amount tends to vary! But I want to thank you ALL - Can-dance and all my poster friends - for keeping me up to speed. Knowing that the Y&R page of soaps.com is an available escape hatch from my daily life (even when I want to leap into the writers' office and throttle them!) does give me something to smile about every day.

Sounds like I missed some GREAT stuff this week! I would have loved to see the return of all those storied characters. I'd LOVE to see TPTB bring Nina and Brock back to the fold! And while we're at it, you know who I REALLY missed? Larry Warton! Wouldn't it have been just CHOICE for him to show up at the funeral to pay his respects to Mrs. C?! Yeah, if people are staring at VICTOR, just imagine the stares Larry'd rack up (and not just because he's so buff, either!)

I agree - the Paris stuff was just overblown and hype-y. It was a chance to go over there. Nothing significant happened - unless you count Ashley and Victor hooking up. Ashtor? Vicley? What on Earth would we call THAT pairing? OH! I've got it! ASH & STACHE!

Performances I wish I'd seen:
- Amber. Yeah, I can't believe I'm coming around to the Amber character, either. But I am. And it's all Jeanne Cooper's fault, too, for having Mrs. C. be her friend through thick and thin. But I would have LOVED to see her break down over Mrs. C's death. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she stands up to Jill regarding the memoirs! And I love that she's totally suspecious of Kevin, too! Does she know that that is money left behind by Kay, or is she just suspicious that it's a big wad-o-cash? Whatever! I LOVE that they've got Amber - who KNOWS ALL TOO WELL what it's like to give up ill-gotten gains! - calling Kevin's bluff here! Stick it to him, Amber! Maybe Heather can get you a legal career... you're certainly more successful at uncovering evidence of wrongdoing than SHE is (OK... that was a totally gratuitous Heather jab. There wasn't a ton of Heather action this week, and I'm grateful, because she is an AWFUL lawyer - and as someone who knows Wisconsin law, I roll my eyes every time I see her attempting to play Perry Mason!!)

- Phyllis. You all probably know by now, I'm a big fan of Michelle Stafford. And as Phyllis has evolved from the take-no-prisoners-psychopath into someone more cerebral and plotting and dangerously patient... I've reveled in the transformation. She's far more dangerous as the person she is now than the person she was when she was first brought to GC. Nowhere is her range as an actress and the complexity she's brought to Phyllis on better display than when she goes from rage-filled and throwing furniture into total sex-kitten mode. Wish I'd seen it. May have to catch it on the net.

- Kevin. I never tire of watching Greg Rikaart - not just because I think he's adorable, either. Boy's got DEEP RANGE. Another struggle over what to do with a wad of cash - yeah, we've seen him in this dilemma before!! - but I'll still follow it, because it's Kevin.

- Chloe. Chloe? What am I THINKING!?!?! Why on Earth would I categorize her performance as worthy of a trip to the episodes online? Because EH is, too, displaying massive range with her character. As much as Chloe the character makes me want to spew my coffee all over the screen sometimes, I am nonetheless charmed. I hate her that she's gold-digging, I HATE that the pregnancy scheme has gone as far as it has on its limited logic... and yet, I'm charmed when I hear how she and Cane are developing a friendship. Anyone ever notice how some of the best pairings start out as friends? I'm just sayin!

Keep rocking your Rants, C and everyone! You all keep me up to speed!

Great rant, as usual, Candace! You were right on with everything! Y&R definitely picked it up a notch this week!
I agree totally with you about Michelle Stafford! Great actress! She is awesome---even though I want Nick and Sharon back together, Phyllis is portrayed so great by Michelle that I'm just glued to the TV to see what she's gonna do next!!! I'm afraid Nick and Sharon better seriously watch out--she's crazy unstable!!!

I LOVED PARIS WEEEK! Sharon and Nick looked fantastic together rekindling the old flame. You could see the love and chemistry between the two is still there.

Meanwhile Phyllis is spinning like a top after witnessing the kiss. I was also confused as why Phyllis didn't confront Nick, but rather seduced him, I was thinking 'what is she up to?'. Nick, and probably Sharon, will not escape unscathed from her wrath, that's for sure.

In terms of Jack, at this point Sharon doesn't owe him anything after all the crap he has put her through. He keeps lying, even after he tells her how sorry he is for lying. She stuck by him, even after she knew the crap he was pulling at Restless Style, and this is the way he pays her back. As far as I'm concerned their marriage is over and it's only a matter of time before Jack's part in the diary forgery is uncovered and Sharon will leave him for good!

What an awesome week on Y&R! Victor showing up at the funeral was the icing on the cake! I like Ash and Victor together. Although, he got over Sabrina pretty quick to jump right in the sack with Ashley. I thought he was dead inside???? Whatever the case may be, I loved this week on Y&R, very exciting and look forward to more excitment to come.

Paris with Nick and Sharon:

not only what drug was Sharon on but the writers!!!! OMG did someone write that drivel that has not even been watching the show!!!!! Sharon looked like one of those bobblehead things in the back of some peoples cars and the stupid faciel expressions and giggles!!! and the bit about "I've always wanted to come to Paris!!" hey dummy you were in Paris in April 2006 with your son!!! all of the Nick and Sharon scenes were a joke, once again they took Nick and turned him into a manho, not 2 days before he was telling his wife, PHYLLIS, that he would never hurt her the way he hurt Sharon, how much he loved her, how she "get's him", and then we are suppose to believe that he sudden wants to kiss Sharon!!! and Sharon, did you come off looking like a fool!!! "I don't want to be the other woman!" first SINCE WHEN!!! and second when did Nick say he was IN LOVE with you!!! wanted to have an AFFAIR with you!!! WANTED you to be the OTHER woman????

As for Michelle Stafford, I can honestly say she was the ONLY saving grace for the Paris filming!!!! and to think some viewers swore that Michelle and the character of Phyllis was not going to Paris!!!!

Go Michelle!!!! I see your next Emmy reel getting full!!!!

Mll1206 I see you are still in form! I hardly ever agree, but I love reading your posts. Good Blog Candace. There was a lot of action this week. I really loved seeing Nina and Brock, I love Nina and it made me really miss Cricket. It's weird seeing one without the other. All n all, the show was great. I hope it keeps up. Jeanne Cooper is the uber Pro, love that lady! Give her another Emmy this year, here's hoping! Nick is just being the Man-Garden Tool that he's always been. At least the Writers are showing Consistency with that! BTW, Lily still needs a darn bone in her back! Go, Billy, show Chloe what she's missing!!!! Elizabeth Hendrickson is very talented indeed, still can't stand Chloe.

Jeanne Cooper, you are AWESOME!! I can't believe that she is 80 years old!! I hope that I am as chipper and brave and she is when I am 80 (if I make it to 80)!

Can't wait for the REAL and long-awaited Nick & Sharon reunion!

Victor needs to get back to being a human being. His recent scenes are BORING! Ashley and Victor = icky.

Waiting for the Victor & Nikki reunion! They ARE the Y&R super couple.

I'm starting to like Eden, and now I've heard that they are going to recast the role.
