The Young and the Restless - NEWS ROOM

Soaps.com has learned that various Y&R stars will attend the screening of "Between the Lines" in Los Angeles on August 21st, 2008 at 8:00 PM at the Beverly Hills Fine Arts Theater. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rick Thomas Veterans Counseling Center.

"Between the Lines" examines the Vietnam War through the prism of the surfing sub-culture. This documentary film offers unique insight into the dramatic effect that the Vietnam War and draft had on young American men who rode waves. It is narrated by acclaimed writer/director John Milius (Apocalypse Now).

Talent attending the screening includes Y&R actors Nia Peeples (Karen), Christel Khalil (Lily), Raya Meddine (ex-Sabrina), and Vail Bloom (Heather). Other celebrity attendees are Kathy Kohner-Zuckerman (Gidget), Josh Fineman (Without a Trace), Elle Travis (Dead Air), Robin Bain (The Real Wedding Crashers, Robot Chicken), Eleni Tzimas (Extraction), Brian Wimmer (China Beach), and writers/explorers Sam and Matt George.
