Bryton McClure plays Devon Hamilton, foster son to Dru and Neil Winters, on the hottest soap around, The Young and the Restless!

Setting aside time to speak with Bryton wasn't easy! We had scheduling conflicts, with my writing and his pages upon pages of lines to memorize, so we settled for a brief online Q&A!

Chrissi: Hi Bryton! I want to thank you for agreeing to grant me an interview for Soaps.com!
Bryton: Thank you! I hope you've been enjoying the storyline so far.

Chrissi: I really am! It's about time that 'Devon' was involved in a great storyline! You're doing a terrific job in it, as well! The message boards are going crazy with talk of 'Devon's story'!

Chrissi: On the weekend of September 16th, you were in Indiana, racing, as guests of Red Bull and BMW! Care to tell us a little more about this and your meeting of special guest star 'Michael Jordan'? We hear he is your favorite athlete!

Bryton: Well for about 8 years now I've been a huge racing fan. I used to race 100 mph go-karts professionally when I was about 13. So to get back in to a race seat was such a fun experience! I thought I was going to be a little bit timid, but it all came back to me and I had a great time. As for Mr. Jordan, he has been someone who I've admired for a very long time; unfortunately he was unable to attend. It will truly be an honor to meet him one day and I will meet him!
The 1st annual event, called "For the Gold and Glory," was a celebration of African American Heritage in Motor Sports to honor groundbreaking heroes and to recognize up and coming minority drivers.

Chrissi: Sounds like an incredible event, and for a good cause! Here is a link to the press release in PDF format! For the Gold and Glory

Chrissi: I am impressed that you started your career when you were just two years old! You just turned 20 last month! For someone of your age, most of your fans would say you're living a dream! What has it been like for you, balancing work with school, friends and family?

Bryton: It really has been a dream for me. I've been lucky enough throughout my entire life to make a living at something that is completely fun to me. Never once have I've felt like what I've done over the years is "work." I was home schooled growing up, so that made traveling and work much easier to handle. And as for my family and close friends, they've been with me always and supported everything I've done, so I never really felt like I've had to balance anything.

Chrissi: Hard work pays off. You're on the number one soap opera across the continent! I've noticed that you've been shown on canvas a little more lately. Can you give us a little teaser about what we should expect from your character in the up and coming weeks? We hear you've got a big storyline coming!

Bryton: Big, correction! There is a huge storyline in the works for Devon, ha ha, and all I can say is that it's an honor to be given stories from our wonderful writers that really allow me to try new things and to learn more as an actor.

Chrissi: *Laughter* I'm enjoying your work, and am pleased that the writers gave you this touching storyline. Can you share something about yourself that your fans may not know?

Bryton: I'm extremely competitive.

Chrissi: Soaps.com is becoming well known for advertising about different charities that are out there. We like to help when we can and we'd love to give yours a boost. Why don't you tell your fans a little "RADD" (Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes against Drunk Driving) Kids, such as why and how it was founded, and what exactly it's all about!

Bryton: I was asked to be in a music video that Paul McCartney was doing with RADD; a re-make of "Baby You Can Drive My Car". After learning about RADD, I asked my father if there was anything like RADD for Kids. RADD was an organization for adults, 21 and over. After that, my father thought that if he could get me involved in a program like RADD at a young age, it would help me develop into a good role model for my peers and give me something to feel proud about. We asked Mara Wilson, (Matilda & Mrs. Doubt fire), Raven Simone (Cosby's) and Taryn Noah Smith (Home Improvement) to join us in filming several public service commercials about bicycle, skateboard and pedestrian safety. The PSAs aired on ABC's Saturday morning lineup for nearly 3 years! RADD Kids was born and we soon had over 80 young celebrities supporting our youth safety messages. RADD (Radd Kids utilizes young celebrity messengers to deliver youth safety "Entertainment" to their peers across America. Today, RADD Kids is a member of NOYS, the National Organizations for Youth Safety. (Noys)

Bryton: To me, I found Soaps.com to be an excellent source for news and updates on all your favorite soaps.

That's great to hear! We're happy you approve and hope that you visit us from time to time. We also invite you to post in our message boards!
