Little Richard Heads to The Young and the Restless!

Tuesday, June 10 2008

Little Richard (Michael Desmond, FOX)
Soaps.com has learned that on June 30th, legendary performer Little Richard will be making an appearance on Y&R!

*Spoiler!*

Lucky The Young and the Restless fans will enjoy an onscreen song from Little Richard when he performs at the Las Vegas elopement of Gloria Fisher Abbott Bardwell (Judith Chapman) to Jeffrey Bardwell (Ted Shackleford)! The couple's growing legion of supporters will be thrilled as the twosome finally get beyond all of the near misses and misunderstandings and declare their true feelings for one another!

Little Richard, born Richard Wayne Penniman, in Macon, Georgia in 1932, is a singer, songwriter and pianist who is best remembered for his heyday in the 1950's, with hits such as "Tutti Frutti", "Long Tall Sally", and "Lucille". He injected the melodic rock n' roll of the time with a healthy dose of funk that made his style unique.

Little Richard has the distinction of having been one of the initial seven inductees into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. He was also chosen as the eighth greatest artist of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Many huge musical artists have listed Little Richard as their inspiration. In his high school yearbook, Bob Dylan stated that his ambition was "to follow Little Richard." In 1969, the King himself, Elvis Presley, is said to have told Little Richard that he is the greatest, and that his music inspired him. Otis Redding, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Mick Jagger, John Fogerty, Dick Dale, Bob Seger, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and numerous other rock n' roll icons have also cited Little Richard as being their first major influence.

Soaps.com readers, mark your calendars for June 30th! Little Richard's appearance and performance on The Young and the Restless, and the sure-to-be-wacky nuptials of Gloria and Jeffrey promises to be the best in can't-miss daytime television! For more on Little Richard, visit his Official Site!

I am not feeling this one. Enough is enough. I am truly sick of Gloria and Jeffrey. I think I might just have to read the updates and stop watching for while.

glad there finally together. Lets get some new story lines. Get away from the Restless Style bunch, Sabrina/Victor, everything always revolves around the same people the same stories. Need some change.

Finally, finally, finally, I have been waiting for Gloria and Jeffrey to get their act together.

I knew Gloria would finally get with Jeffrey! Many people hate her...but, I think she gives the show a comedic release. TGVN is so overbearing and her son Michael is always flying off the handle. I enjoy watchig her get into trouble and then wishing she hadn't. I hope they will lead a happy life. They belong together.

Yeah, finally a happy ending. Those two,(Gloria and Jeffrey)were made for each other. Can't wait to see Little Richard. Congrats Y&R. I've always been a Gloria/Judith fan.

I know Gloria is a little crazy....but everyone deserves a little happiness. She is the way she is because of the choices that she made yes....but people can change and she was different with John....she had happiness in her life and I believe she will again with Jeffrey....on another note: what is Jill going to do? Oh well.
