Penn Badgley (CW)
Penn's star has just taken off recently with his starring role in the successful "Gossip Girl" television series, but his talent was always in evidence. Back in 2001 when he was a part of the The Young and the Restless, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Daytime Series for his work in the role of Philip Chancellor IV.
After daytime, Penn's career took a strange turn when he landed starring roles in no less than three television series that were cancelled after one season, "Do Over" (2002), "The Mountain" (2004), and "The Bedford Diaries" (2006). But it doesn't appear as if "Gossip Girl" is headed for the same fate. The series is wildly popular and its young stars are rapidly becoming household names!

The former Y&R actor has also had the opportunity to delve into film work. He had a great role in the successful teen movie, "John Tucker Must Die", which starred former Passions hottie, Jesse Metcalfe (ex-Miguel), and is awaiting the release of "Forever Strong", a rugby-themed drama in which he plays a character named Lars. Additionally, production is set to begin in the spring on "Stepfather", a horror movie that will see Penn in the lead role!
Soaps.com is pleased to see a former daytime actor doing so well in his career! Although there is a legion of daytime fans that would love to see such a handsome and talented actor return to soaps, it looks like prime time and the big screen have him for now! Congratulations Penn, and keep up the great work!
