With fall here, the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. However, don’t pack away your bathing suit just yet. For those lucky enough to have registered for this year’s Soap Cruise, we wish you bonvoyage! Don’t worry, for those who couldn’t meet the September 28, 2007 registration deadline, it has been extended to October 10, 2007, so hop on over now and register for the ultimate dream soap vacation!

Until then, I’m here to bring you a peek into the Soap Cruise with a little help from one of the stars who will be attending this year’s event – The Young and the Restless actor Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin)!

When Christian called me, we eagerly began chatting it up about the cruise and what he is most looking forward to…

“I’ve traveled a lot but have never been on a cruise before! I’m looking forward to the experience and traveling the seas,” Christian laughs. “It’s still work, but you get to meet fans in a comfortable, normal situation, which is great for getting immediate feedback.”

With a variety of daytime stars attending the event, I asked Christian if he would be meeting up with any friends from the other soaps.

“It’ll be fun to have all the gang there from CBS… Don Diamont (Brad) from Y&R, Winsor Harmon (Thorne) and Ronn Moss (Ridge) from B&B. I don’t really get to see the people from GH much, so it’ll be neat to catch up with Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine). He’s a really cool guy. And then there’s some of my friends from over at Days. It’ll be fun to spend some time with all the people you kind of meet along the way but never get a chance to spend time with.”

During the cruise, the ship will dock in Key West and Cancun, so of course I wanted to know what plans Christian had for those afternoons on land.

Laughing with excitement, Christian replied, “Although I’ve never been to Cancun or Key West, I’m a super tourist and very excited! I’ll definitely take advantage of every minute, sort of taste the locale for when I can get back for a longer trip. If time allotted, I’d love to tour the Mayan Ruins in Cancun!"

Before hanging up and thanking Christian for calling me today, I made sure to remind him that Soaps.com will be on this year’s cruise and that our Editor-In-Chief Christine Fix is looking forward to seeing him there! I have to tell you fans, Christian is an absolutely wonderful person! I felt as though I was talking to an old friend!

Hosted by AMC's Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery), fans will share a five-day vacation with many of their favorite daytime stars. From the time the ship leaves the Port of Miami, Florida on Thursday, November 15, 2007, fans will indulge in meet and greet sessions, a soap trivia game show, celebrity bingo, a cocktail party and so much more – and the fun won’t end until the ship docks back in Florida on Monday, November 19, 2007!

Remember, for those who won’t be able to make the event, don’t worry, you won’t be missing it all. As I said, Soaps.com will be aboard the Carnival Cruise ship in order to bring the Soap Cruise to you, our loyal fans! Stay tuned for all of our goodies in the months to come!
