Father Todd arrives back at the hospital and encourages Paul to take a break from their sister's bedside. Paul doesn't want to, but Todd warns him he's brought in the big guns. Nina appears in the doorway! Paul and Nina embrace. She tells him he needs to get out of there for a few hours. Todd insists he won't leave the hospital room.
Nina and Paul are at the movie theater. She is mixing chocolate covered raisins and popcorn, much to Paul's amazement. They share a laugh. When Paul checks his phone, Nina takes it away. As they watch the old Clark Gable film, Nina reaches over and takes Paul's hand. Paul tells Nina he needed this. She says she wanted to see to it that he got what he needed. He thanks her.
Paul and Nina return to the hospital, where Father Todd tells them it looks like Patty is going to be okay - she's been removed from the critical list.
An Angry Little Boy's Tantrum?
Victor arrives at the Ranch to see Faith, and immediately gets into it with Ashley about him wanting the house back. When Victor offers to move them to an adjacent property, Ashley hollers that they're not for sale. Abby and Noah come upon them arguing. Abby informs them that they've ruined her life and she wishes she could divorce them both, before storming out. Noah goes after her. They discuss Abby's stress, and Ashley points out that she's trying to give her stability. Ashley doesn't want her girls to feel like outsiders - like Adam.
No Free Pass!
Nina and Chloe are at the police station with Chance - Nina can't understand what the delay is with him being released. Chance tries to reassure her. When Chance leaves the room, Nina tells Chloe that she can go home. Chloe stands up to her, and says she's not leaving until Chance can walk out of there with her. Nina sighs, and says that may take awhile! When Chance and the detective finally emerge, he tells Chance that he doesn't think he's guilty, but he's going to be suspended with pay. He takes his gun and badge.
Chance, Nina, and Chloe also come into Crimson Lights. They sit down and Chance worries about Riggs. Nina tells him he has to let this go! Chance says someone is targeting him and he's going to find out who it is!
The Klepto and the Liar!
At the coffee house, Paul tells Nina and Murphy that he's found out some interesting things about Joanne that Katherine should know before she goes to meet her. Nina says it's too late - she and Jill are on their way! Murphy asks what he means - Paul says she could be trouble. Paul lets them know that Jo-Jo has quite a criminal record, for things like extortion. Murphy decides to call Katherine. Murphy can't get through - he keeps getting voicemail!
Not Going Anywhere!
Nina and Paul are at Crimson Lights. She suggests that she accompany him to visit Patty. She feels bad that she is such a big part of his life, yet he feels he has to keep it hidden. Paul says Patty caused a lot of people pain. Nina replies that he's always there for everyone - it's time someone was there for him.
Paul and Nina arrive at Patty's room. He tells his sister that she's made progress and if he didn't think she was ready, he wouldn't have brought Nina. Nina says she is one of Paul's good friends and thought it was time they met. Patty smiles and shrugs, saying that she usually looks prettier. Nina offers to leave if she's uncomfortable, but Patty says she should stay. Patty talks about how wonderful her brothers are, and says that in the new year she would like to show everyone that she's not what they think she is! Paul and Nina say goodbye, and Patty sits down and says to herself, "Well, Patty, maybe next year you'll have someone to love as well."
Hit Me Again!
Back in the living room, Katherine and Jill discuss the gift. Jill tells her she deserves to know her daughter, but if she decides not to act on it that's her business. Jill tells her she's behind her every step of the way. As everyone else comes back into the room, Katherine tells Jill she's given her a wonderful gift, and now she's wondering about her daughter. She kisses Jill, and Tucker looks on intently.
