In the Chancellor living room, Chance confronts Chloe about her feelings for Billy - he says she lit up when she heard that he and Mac broke up. Chloe denies it, but he pushes, insisting that she cares. She finally says she does - Billy and Mac steamrolled her with their historic love affair - she's happy that they crashed and burned! Chance thinks it's more than that, but Chloe protests. Chance tensely says it's been a long day and he's going to bed. Chloe sighs.
Katherine gets home and enthusiastically greets Murphy who is back from catching fish. Chloe comes into the room and jokes with Murphy that two little eyes were looking out at her from beside the ice cream! He goes off to shower, and Chloe discusses Billy and Mac's breakup with Katherine. She says that Chance thought her reaction was inappropriate and now she's probably getting dumped too. Katherine tells her that her flippant attitude is the source of her problems with Chance - she uses it to hide from him. Chloe notes that she's been doting on Chance all week. Kay says that was until Billy came along - she asks her what she really wants?! Katherine says Chance may be in love with her, but he demands total honesty from her. Katherine says it's sad for her to use sarcasm to hide from the one thing she really wants.
Chloe goes to see Chance in his room. She tells him the truth is that she really loved Billy, and when she finally admitted it, he walked away. It hurt. She says that he was the last in a long line of men, starting with her father. Chloe tells Chance she's sorry if he was made to feel like what they have isn't real, but it is real. Chance is silent, and then grabs her and kisses her deeply. Things get hot and heavy, and Chloe pulls back, noting that he's still recovering from surgery. Chance wants her to stay, saying he's totally fine, but Chloe leaves the room.
Worshiping the Ground She Waddles On!
Chloe and Chance sit in the living room discussing their relationship. She wants to know what her 'job' is in taking care of him - he says they're still negotiating that title. She warns him that she's a fierce negotiator. He smiles. When his stitches cause him pain, they have a brief spat about him returning to work.
Out on the terrace, Billy talks to Mac about Phillip deciding to return to Australia. Mac starts to tell him about being at Lily's house, but he cuts her off - he doesn't want to hear anything about it. Just then, Chance and Chloe walk out. Chloe asks if they're having a baby, but Billy tells her Mac is having Cane and Lily's baby. Chloe remarks, "Wow." They all discuss the issue. Chance says it must mean a lot to them, and Chloe remarks that Billy must be proud - he's always saying how selfless Mac is! Mac murmurs that Billy's not actually thrilled. Chloe says to give him time - he'll soon be back to worshiping the ground she waddles on! Chance takes Chloe inside, and Billy invites Mac in to talk too. Mac declines. Billy walks off.
Inside the Chancellor Mansion, Chloe and Chance have made hot chocolate. Mac comes in, and Chloe invites her to join them. She tells her that she thinks she's doing the right thing - Mac replies that she knows she is. Chloe says Billy will get past this, but Mac disagrees. Chloe offers maternity clothes, and Mac smiles, shakes her head, and goes upstairs. Chance asks if Chloe cares that Billy is available again - because it seems like she does. Chloe denies it.
I Love You, Son!
At Crimson Lights, Billy informs Chloe that the only person who matters to him is Mac - she shouldn't flatter herself. Chloe gets a text from Phillip saying something is going on at the Chancellor house and she should come back. Billy decides to go too.
As Nina tells Katherine that Phillip is going back to Australia in the bedroom upstairs, Phillip breaks the news to Chance in the living room. He tells him he will have to return indefinitely. As Phillip expresses regret, Kay appears and asks, "Then why do it?" Phillip says he has unfinished business to tend to. Chloe and Billy arrive, and everyone waits to hear Phillip's reasons. Phillip asks them to trust him. Nina wonders why he won't tell her. Jill walks in and says, "It's true, isn't it? You're leaving!"
Cane arrives at the Chancellor house just as Jill is calling Phillip 'selfish' for leaving again. Cane informs them that Phillip is not selfish - he's doing this for him - to save his life! Cane explains about the cattle rustlers, and how Phillip is hoping to keep them from coming after the family in Genoa City. Billy asks that Delia be put down for a nap. He then tells Cane to book a ticket and go home! Kay intervenes, saying, "That's enough!" Jill tells Billy to go cool off. Jill, Nina, and Kay turn back to Phillip and debate whether he should go or not. Nina still doesn't think he should leave his son, but Jill says she's very proud of him. Phillip says he's wanted to tell them how sorry he is - for all that could have been - and about not being honest twenty years ago. He laments the lost years.
Upstairs, Chance and Chloe discuss the situation with Phillip. Chloe isn't sure about Phillip risking his life to save Cane. Chance says it's noble what he's doing, but he has realized he likes having him around. Chance is worried that he won't come back. Chloe tries to reassure him.
