NIKKI REED NEWMAN'S HISTORY
Nikki Reed appeared in Genoa City in 1978 after having an affair with and contracting a sexually transmitted disease from a young Paul Williams. Not having the best childhood, and killing her father after he tried to rape her, Nikki worked at the Bayou as a stripper where she met her soul mate, Victor Newman. After spending one night together, Victor denied his feelings for Nikki and set her up with Kevin Bancroft. Nikki and Kevin married and she soon found out that she was pregnant. After her daughter Victoria had been kidnapped by Kevin's mother, it was discovered that Victor was the father and the baby was returned to Nikki.
Throughout the years, amongst the many marriages and divorces in which Nikki and Victor's relationship endured, Nikki dealt with numerous trials and tribulations including becoming an alcoholic, being addicted to pain killers, losing her child with Jack while arguing with Victor, thinking Victor was dead after he took refuge in Kansas, being shot by the crazed ex-wife of her once husband Josh Landers, and leaving Brad Carlton at the altar - just to name a memorable few.
Through it all, having lived most of her life dependent on various men, Nikki stood on her own when she invested thirty-five million dollars in Jabot Cosmetics and took a seat on their board!
Before their reunion in 2002, Nikki saved Victor from fathering the child of Diane Jenkins after Nikki found out that Diane stole Victor's sperm! Nikki hired someone to secretly swap out Victor's sample with another prior to Diane's insemination. Unfortunately, the mystery donor turned out to be Jack Abbott and Nikki changed his life in an instant. After remarrying, Nikki and Victor pulled together and became a rock for their children who had developed their own set of problems throughout the years.
It wasn't until the Jabot/Newman cosmetic war began when Victor and Nikki found themselves on opposing sides at work, which in turn followed them home. After it was revealed that Victor single-handedly sabotaged Jabot's campaign, causing Nikki to lose millions, their marriage was put to the ultimate test! However, in the end, Nikki stood by Victor's side during his commercial bribery trial.
After Victor was sentenced to community service, he decided to turn an old warehouse into a Rec Center for kids. Realizing that it was the same building that her drunken father had worked at, Nikki began to have strange flashbacks from her childhood. It turned out that she had suppressed a traumatic time in her life. While playing with her father's gun, at five years old, Nikki had shot her best friend Joshua Cassen (Bobby Marsino's brother) and her father had buried him in the cement in the same building! During construction for the Rec center, Joshua's body was found and Nikki was forced to face her past.
In 2006, Nikki regained her footing in the business world and partnered up with Victor and Phyllis Abbott to form NVP Retreat Spas. However, after Victor was diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, he sold his shares to Jack Abbott and Nikki has been in a tiff about it ever since! Now that Victor's Epilepsy is under control, after undergoing Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, Nikki and Victor are determined to regain control of NVP after finding out that Jack had been going behind their backs for months and had secretly regained ownership of Jabot with company funds!
In 2007, Nikki came to the aid of her best friend Katherine Chancellor and held her hand as Kay told Jill that she had switched her child at birth!
After the Clear Springs explosion put her pregnant daughter Victoria in a coma, Nikki, along with boyfriend David Chow, fought for the rights of the unborn child. However, before a decision could be handed down, the child was delivered by c-section.
Nikki married David, who turned out to have had a shady past. He was connected to the mob, and was a gambling addict as well. Nikki tried to stand by her husband as they headed up Jabot Cosmetics together, but his issues proved too much for them to overcome. In the end, David tried to kill Nikki at the Charity Gala, and wound up dead himself, along with Victor's new wife Sabrina, in a car wreck.
Nikki has been blamed for the chain of events by Victor, who took off for Mexico seeking revenge. Nikki caught up with him, and now that the authorities are looking into his activities in Mexico, she is hiding what she knows to protect her ex!

Monday, November 24 2008: Get A Hold of Your Life!
Nick, Phyllis and Nikki are all at Restless Style. Nick and Phyllis say it's nice to see her at work, and Phyllis compliments the piece of Katherine's jewelry that she's wearing. Nick proposes that since she's been through so much, she move in with them, but Nikki vetoes that idea.
Nikki stops at Paul's house. She admits that she is unable to sleep thinking about everything in her life that's gone wrong! She explains how upsetting it is that Victor never wants to see her again. Paul gives her a hug.
Nikki is shocked that Victor wants to see her, and Paul thinks it might be a bad idea. He points out that Victor didn't speak to anyone at the funeral, so why would he suddenly reach out? He offers to go with her, but she says she needs to do this alone. Before she leaves, Paul asks if she'd like to come stay with him, rather than staying alone at the Athletic Club. Nikki is pleasantly surprised by the invitation and accepts!
Thursday, November 20 2008: A Good Day For a Haunting!
Jill welcomes Nikki cordially into the Chancellor home, but sighs dramatically over her presence. Nikki goes in to take a seat, and Jill tells Cane that she expected Nikki to be there today, but she still doesn't like it. He reminds his mother that Nikki was a friend to Kay, but she is her daughter. Jill laments to her son that she treated her mother badly.
Amber and Daniel arrive at the Chancellor home and are greeted by Esther. Danny and Gina come in and Gina begs Daniel to try and get Danny to stay for a few more days, but Danny says he can't. Billy comes through the door next and is warmly greeted by Cane. Just as Mitchell Sherman asks everyone to have a seat, Gloria and Jeffrey blow into the room. Jill looks outraged! Mitchell begins to read the will. She leaves Brock 1% of her estate in trust so that he may continue his good works, and he is also named Chairman of the Chancellor Foundation. Danny and Gina get one half of 1% of her estate in cash as her stepchildren, and she leaves Esther enough money to live the rest of her life in comfort as well as her entire 50% ownership of the Chancellor Estate! Esther nearly faints, and Nikki calls for water. Billy smirks at Jill, "Mom, you may be in the market for a new maid!" Jill takes Mitchell aside and says that Katherine must have been drunk when she made the changes, but Mitchell tells her it's ironclad and Katherine was certainly not impaired! He continues the reading of the will, telling Nikki, that as someone who Kay thought of as a daughter, she has been left Katherine's jewelry and her mother's ring - a family heirloom!
Still in the Chancellor living room, Mitchell details how Billy and Cane will receive one-quarter each of her estate. Amber and Daniel are given enough money to fund their respective ventures, and Amber also gets sole rights to Katherine's memoirs! Jill jumps out of her seat in protest, but Mitchell cuts her off, saying that Jill has been left the remainder of the estate, and all but 5% of her Jabot shares. He then turns to Gloria and tells her she has been left a priceless vase that was a gift from John, as well as the remaining 5% of her Jabot shares - in honor of John's memory! Jill turns to Cane in panic, and Jeff and Gloria beam! As they all rise from their seats, Daniel asks Amber if she's going to publish the memoirs, but she says she wonders if she should bring more upset to the family. Danny comes over and says goodbye. Brock wanders over and says he'd like to know more about the memoirs. They all share a laugh. Across the room, Jeff purrs at Gloria that she's never looked hotter than she does right now. Jill comes over and asks what she did to make Katherine give her the shares. Gloria says that Kay genuinely liked her! Billy takes Jill away, telling her that if he had inherited what she just did, he'd be dancing on the table right now! Jill goes after Amber before she can leave - she informs her that she won't have her capitalizing on Katherine's memoirs and if she tries to print it, she'll fight her every step of the way. Amber tells Daniel she's going to make it her life's mission to print them now! Nikki is next to leave, telling Jill that she hopes she doesn't mind Katherine giving her the jewelry. Jill rudely tells her that her life's such a mess, how could she mind. Esther kindly tells Nikki she can still come to the house to visit her. Jill goes back into the living room and notes to Cane that they're very vulnerable without that stock! It then dawns on Jill that she is no longer answering to Katherine and can do whatever she wants!
