In the Abbott living room, John's ghost is visiting with Billy, and asking him if he's ready to alienate his family. Billy says he thought he was ready for that, but now he's not so sure. John asks where his true loyalties lie, since he's pitting Jack against his mother! Billy says he has these two families and he'd like to be a part of them both, but he doesn't fit into either of them. Jack treats him like a kid, and Jill is all about Cane! He says Katherine was the only one who made him feel he belonged there. John encourages him to put down roots and discover what really matters to him - he used to know!
At the Abbott house, in the dining room, Jack rips into Ashley for taking up with Victor again. Traci comes into the room, just as Ashley wryly says she always looks forward to breakfast with the family! Ashley tells Jack that they have been having the same conversation for twenty years! Traci begs for a pleasant breakfast. They call a truce, just as Billy walks in. He says he can't stay - he needs to go to Katherine's will reading. Gloria and Jeffrey pass through the room and ask if he wants to carpool! Jack raises an eyebrow, saying, "You're in Katherine's will too?!" Billy notes that Kay had a great sense of humor. He leaves, and Jack proposes a toast to John. Suddenly, John appears to Traci. He tells her she made all the right choices - especially leaving Genoa City and making a great life for herself. Traci then tells Jack and Ashley that if John were there he would be so proud of them! They discuss Colleen and Abby. Ash says Abby loves London. John's ghost then appears to Ashley. He tells her he is worried about her being involved with Victor again. She admits she's worried too, but notes that he's Abby's father and the man she's loved half of her life. John warns her to be careful, and to do what's best for herself and Abby. Jack wants to discuss the holidays - he wants a full house this year. The girls start talking about their plans, when John appears to Jack. He says he notices that Sharon isn't at the family breakfast - he urges Jack to figure out what he really wants. Traci and Ashley go to leave, and Jack says goodbye, stopping Ash to say that he'll always be there for her, no matter what happens with the mustache!
Out in the pool house, Gloria and Jeffrey prepare the celebratory champagne. Suddenly, John appears to Gloria, asking if she's proud of herself for putting one over on his friend. Gloria says she is - Katherine never did anything she didn't want to do, and she feels good about this! She sits down and reaches for her glass as John disappears.
John's ghost goes back into the Abbott house and confronts Jack again. He questions Jack's motives in plotting with Gloria and Jeffrey. Jack defends himself, saying that the business is finally going to be back with the family where it belongs! John disappears.
Parisian Adventure!
Jack throws the phone across the room after talking to Sharon and realizing she is with Nick. John suddenly appears and warns him to make sure he's getting angry at the right person - he's only got himself to blame. Jack contends that Sharon has no place to get on her high horse about him lying - if he hadn't heard Nick in the background she wouldn't have told him! Jack wonders why Sharon is avoiding his calls, and John urges him to call again and let her know how much this marriage means to him. Jack is sure that if he does that she'll feel crowded.
Jack's telephone rings and he answers it. Billy tells him about Katherine's death and asks him to pass the news on to Sharon if he doesn't mind. Jack hangs up, shocked, and John whispers to him that he needs to cherish the people he loves - that's why he has to call Sharon and tell her how much she means to him!
Lit Up Like a Christmas Tree!
John shows up in the Abbott Mansion after Adam leaves and asks his son if it was all worth losing Sharon. Jack protests that they are working things out. John replies dubiously, "Really? From 4000 miles apart?"
Love In a Dirty Diaper!
John's ghost appears to Jack in the lounge after Billy leaves. They chuckle about him trying to get Ashley's proxy. John warns Jack to be careful how much he shares with his little brother - he won't think twice about biting the hand that feeds him!
Goody Gumdrops!
Still at home, Jack learns that Jabot stock is in free-fall. He muses what this might mean for Jeffrey. Suddenly, his father John says, "Thinking about the old days, Jackie?" Jack says he wishes he'd come more often, and John remarks that he comes when he needs him. Jack confides that every day he still wakes up feeling down - his father is gone, Jabot's gone. He tears up when he talks about what it is like to pass the old building. They remember fondly the times when they all worked together. John tells him Gloria's scheme is the best hope he has. Jack wonders if she'll be able to change Katherine's mind. John warns him not to underestimate Gloria - this is important to her! Just then, Jeffrey walks in - he wants to talk about Jabot! He asks what Jack thinks their next move should be. A puzzled Jack says he already had this conversation with Gloria earlier. Just then, Gloria walks in. She and Jeff realize that they have been caught going behind each other's backs! Jeffrey calls her a 'naughty wench', and she wonders if she knows him at all! Jack notes that for them, lying and backstabbing are foreplay - he is backing out! Gloria stops him by hollering that she did it - she got the shares from Katherine! "The three of us are going to own Jabot!"
Monster With Mascara?!
Jack, Sharon, and Noah arrive at the Mansion and tell Gloria to hurry up and leave. She waits for them to thank her, but Jack laughs and calls her a monster in mascara. Sharon tells her that in the beginning she understood her, but that ended when she involved Noah and his dog! Gloria tells Jack she can't believe he is so different from his father! With that she leaves, slamming the door behind her. Later, after Noah and Sharon go out, Jack is visited by John again. He tells Jack that Gloria was quite noble in her actions toward him. Jack tells him that he will never see Gloria that way! John then tells Jack that he won't be around anymore - he's given all the guidance that he can. Jack is upset and offers to give the house back if he'll just stay! John tells him it is time for him to go. He tells Jack that he loves him and to make him proud. Then, he disappears. Gloria, meanwhile, has arrived at the Club. She immediately calls and leaves a message for Michael asking to move in with him!
