LILY WINTERS'S HISTORY
While spending most of her childhood in Paris, Lily returned to Genoa City in 1996 with her mother Drucilla who had a successful career as a model. Shortly after, her parents reconciled, but it was short lived. Lily and her mother then returned back to Paris until 2002.
Arriving home, now a teenager, Lily watched as her father Neil battled alcoholism. In an attempt to help in Neil's recovery, Lily and Dru moved back in and in time became a family again. At first, Lily detested her mother for taking her away from the excitement of Paris, but soon found a new friend in Colleen Carlton and Sierra Hoffman.
After meeting Kevin Fisher on the internet, Lily found herself in a predicament when her much older boyfriend wanted more from her than she was ready for. However, Lily gave into Kevin and the two had sex. It wasn't long before Lily realized that Kevin wasn't who she thought he was. After Lily broke up with him, Kevin went crazy on her friends and the people who loved her and also left Lily with a sexually transmitted disease.
Lily had a hard time trusting boys after that. While volunteering at the Rec Center, a boy named Alex drugged her orange juice and tried to rape her in the elevator! To everyone's surprise, Kevin Fisher saved her and regained some respect within the community. It would come out later that Kevin and Lily's current husband Daniel actually set the whole thing up to make Kevin look like a hero! In time, Lily forgave Daniel.
During her time at the Rec Center, Lily met Devon Hamilton, a boy who had grown up in the foster system, but found that he resented people of her stature. After finding out that Devon was losing yet another foster parent, Lily convinced her mother to allow him the stay with them. Although Devon gave the Winters a hard time at first, with Lily's help, he was able to turn his life around and is now part of their family.
When Lily's Uncle Malcolm returned to GC after everyone thought he was dead, they became really close. Malcolm took on a new job as Jabot's photographer and made Lily the lead model for the teen line. Lily soon fell for Daniel Romalotti and the two became madly in love! However, with young love came heartache.
As their relationship hit the rocks, Daniel got drunk at a party and passed out. Without his knowing, Cassie Newman, an underage driver, drove his car home and got in an accident that ultimately caused her death. On the run from the law, Lily traveled across the country with Daniel. In the end, they were caught and Lily was slapped with probation and forced to move to New Hampshire to attend boarding school. Although it was only through the internet, Lily and Daniel's relationship remained intact.
When Lily came home for a visit on Devon's birthday, she and Daniel acted as though they were broken up. After her parents found out, Lily was at risk of them telling the police to teach her a lesson, so she and Daniel ran off to Vegas and eloped! Upon their return, the young couple moved into the Abbott guesthouse and got jobs to make a go of it.
Lily's life really changed after she overheard her and Daniel's mother arguing about Dru keeping the secret that Lily was really Malcolm's biological daughter! Totally distraught, Lily and Dru's relationship was damaged for a very long time. When Neil found out, the Winters family almost fell apart after he turned to Carmen Mesta for comfort.
After battling to prove Devon and Dru's innocence in Carmen's murder, Lily's parents reconciled and she and Daniel became stronger than ever. But Lily's happiness was not to last. She and Daniel broke up after he succumbed to the temptation of Internet porn, and they ultimately divorced. Lily also suffered through the loss of her mother when Dru was presumed dead after going over a cliff.
Lily has bounced back, and gotten to like the new woman in Neil's life, Karen Taylor. Lily fell in love again and became engaged to Cane Ashby. She won the Fresh Face of Jabot contest and started modeling just like her mother before her. But when Cane was fingered as the father of Chloe Mitchell's unborn child, Lily broke her engagement and quit her job at Jabot, where Cane is CEO. She is currently looking into an online dating site to help her move on.

Friday, November 21 2008: Bookstore Bungle!
At Neil's place, he and Karen are about to share their news with Devon and Roxanne, when Tyra and Ana come in. When Karen announces to all that she and Neil are engaged to be married, Tyra looks disappointed. Tyra congratulates them, however, and Lily speaks up and says she needs to get going. Devon spills that she has a date with a guy she met online. They all warn her to be careful, and she says that she has arranged to meet him at a very public bookstore!
At the bookstore, Lily, Devon and Roxanne plot how she will recognize 'Sonny'. Lily says she'll text him to meet her in the literary section. Devon and Roxanne go to another part of the store, while outside the door, Billy gets the text to meet in the literary section. He heads there, but Roxanne recognizes him as the guy who threw the Hallowe'en party. She grabs him and drags him off to see Devon. As he extricates himself from that situation, Chloe and Cane come in. Chloe bumps right into him and Billy becomes upset. "Not this time, Chloe!" He warns that if she doesn't stop ticking him off, he'll tell Cane about them! Chloe smirks, saying that if he does, then Lily will know he's got 'Chloe cooties' and she'll have nothing to do with him! As Billy moves away to find Lily, he realizes with misery, that Lily is now talking to Cane. Lily assumes Cane is 'Sonny' and smiles as she greets him. He asks what she is doing there, and she realizes that it's a coincidence. She sighs, and tells him he needs to go as she's meeting someone there. Cane moves away, and Billy approaches. Lily says to him, "What are you doing here?" He asks if she's there to meet the online guy. She nods, and he says maybe the guy saw her talking to Cane and left. He says it would have been pretty obvious that she's in love with him. Lily admits that she doesn't want to be in love with him anymore! Billy gives her a hug - and Cane's head pops around the corner, registering shock at the scene in front of him!
Tuesday, November 18 2008: I've Been Expecting You!
Jill thanks Gina for arranging the reception at the GCAC. Esther, Danny, Liz and Brock all discuss how much Katherine would have liked the service. Billy, Cane, Chloe, Amber and Daniel join in the conversation too. They joke about how wild she could be at times and share a laugh. Neil, Karen, and Lily arrive and pay their respects. Jill thanks them for coming. Billy asks Brock why he called her 'the Duchess', and Brock explains that that's the way he always saw her. Liz agrees that she had a regal bearing. Neil takes Lily aside and asks if she's okay - she's been very quiet. Lily notes that it's just a sad day. Neil is joined by Karen and they tell Lily that they're engaged. She congratulates them happily. Nearby, Brock introduces Cane to Nina. Cane tells her that he's the 'other' son - Jill will always consider Philip her son as well. He says he'd like to meet her son sometime, and she says he'd love that too. They agree to meet to chat later.
Still at the reception, Cane is approached by Lily who tells him that his speech at the funeral was wonderful. She assures him that time does heal things, but he replies, "Not always." Chloe stands with Billy watching them talk and says, "Oh great. Another reason for us to feel like crap."
