At the hospital, Adam is on the phone with Heather. She proudly fills him in on being reinstated at the D.A.'s office. She tells Adam that she mentioned Skye's disappearance to both her father and the D.A.. Adam tells Heather that miraculously, Sabrina seems to be showing signs of improvement. Nearby, Michael rubs his eyes in fatigue and Lauren shows up to give him a hug. He tells her Sabrina lost a baby.
Inside Sabrina's room, Victor vows to stay by her bedside until she is completely well. He urges Sabrina to look at the picture of the French Chateau again. She smiles. "Autumn in France." Victor leaves the room and Lauren immediately comes over to express her condolences about the baby. Victor asks her to bring Sabrina some nice night clothes. Victor tells Michael that Sabrina is doing better and he should go too and have a shower - he'll call if he needs him. Just then, Sabrina's monitor goes off - they all rush into the room - she's in cardiac arrest! The doctors do everything they can, but eventually declare that there is nothing more they can do. "Your wife is gone." Victor bows his head in grief. Everyone clears out and Victor asks Sabrina's body, "Why did you leave me?"
In the hospital room, Victor tries to make sense of all that has happened. He can't believe she was taken from him so soon - and the baby - he so wanted the baby. He tells Sabrina that they will both be in his heart. He cries quietly and sighs deeply, holding his face in his hand. Victor then says that that miserable David Chow was responsible for this, and Nikki, who brought him into their lives. "I will never forgive her for this." Suddenly he turns and Nikki is in the doorway. He rises, red-faced and glowering, stepping menacingly toward her!
Goodbye My Lover!
In the hospital room, Sabrina opens her eyes and greets Victor, who tells her that she seems to be getting better.
A frantic Jana and Kevin arrive at the hospital waiting area. Michael meets them, and when Jana asks to see Sabrina, she is warned that Victor may not allow it. At that moment, however, the man himself strides out and says Sabrina's friends are always welcome! As Victor tells Michael and the rest that Sabrina is improving, Adam takes a call from Heather. She asks about Sabrina, and then alerts Adam to the article in the paper about Skye. Adam says he's aware of it.
Jana sits with Sabrina in her hospital room. Sabrina admits to Jana that she was pregnant and has lost the baby. Jana takes off her necklace and places it into Sabrina's hands. Victor and the doctor come in and Sabrina submits to a few tests. The doctor leaves as does Victor. Jana swallows back tears as she realizes that the dialysis won't save Sabrina. Sabrina explains that it is Victor hanging on to hope - that is the reason they are continuing the dialysis.
In the waiting room, the doctor tells Victor and the rest that there is no change in Sabrina's liver function - she is putting up quite a fight. When the doctor steps away, Nick tells Victor maybe he was right to hope. Victor confidently tells Nick to go and be with his family. Nick agrees to go, but not before telling Victor he loves him. When Victor excuses himself, the doctor returns and tells Michael and Kevin that liver patients often do well for a few hours, but she's in God's hands now! Adam steps aside to call Heather. He fills her in on Skye being the friend who played poker with David Chow. He asks her to get Paul looking into Skye's disappearance.
Victor once again comes into Sabrina's hospital room. Jana thanks Sabrina for letting her be a part of her life, then leaves the room. Victor smiles at Sabrina, telling her they've been given the gift of time. He continues to tell her of his plans for their future and that they will have more children.
Fetus Fake-Out!
At the hospital, Phyllis watches Victor sit at Sabrina's bedside. Adam and Nick tell her that he believes his specialists will save her, and he refuses to leave her side. Nick tells Phyllis to go home and start unpacking - his father is going to need him, so they'll stay at the Ranch. Adam makes a caustic remark at the change of heart. Soon Victoria and J.T. turn up, with Victor's daughter demanding that she needs to see Sabrina! She goes into the room, but Victor is reluctant to let her near Sabrina. Suddenly, Sabrina gasps at her husband that she wants to see Vikki. Out in the waiting area, Daniel arrives and gets up to speed from Nick and Adam. Nick asks him about Amber, and admits that he knows what Phyllis did to break them up. He tells Daniel he didn't like it, but they all make mistakes. Daniel says he now knows what it is like to be in love with someone you can't trust. Inside the hospital room, Victoria and Sabrina reminisce about Florence and wind up in tears. Victor stands just outside the door, where J.T. tells him that if anything happens to Sabrina, Walter Palin, a.k.a. Tony Amato, is the person responsible. Victor realizes it was a hit on Chow!
Phyllis arrives back at the hospital and informs her husband that she paid Amber a visit and vowed not to stand in their way. Nick says Daniel just finished asking him for advice! In Sabrina's room, the nurse asks Victoria to leave and the girls smile at each other as they part. Nick asks Vikki how it went, and she says she had a lovely visit with her. She turns to her father and says she is sorry they lost the baby. Victor decrees that the baby was not lost - it was taken from Sabrina, and he is going to find the person responsible!
