Nikki walks out into the hallway and finds herself being embraced by Ashley, who says it's good to see her. They briefly discuss the heart donation, then Ashley goes into Victor's room. A nurse follows with the baby. Ashley says, "Hello Victor. Meet your baby girl." She tells him that she named her Faith instead of Hope. He thinks it's beautiful. Ashley tells him she needs to go now - back to her family. Victor cries a little as she leaves. Ashley walks past Nikki, who thanks her for bringing the baby to see Victor.
Victor is being prepared for surgery, and has all of his children in to tell them he loves them. The nurse then asks them to leave the room. Nikki stays behind and assures him they all love him and that he'll be okay.
Victor and Colleen are both wheeled into their surgeries as their families watch.
Accepting Fate.
Abby goes into Victor's room and tells Nikki, Victoria, JT, Adam, and Victor that Colleen's heart is a match, but notes that Traci hasn't given permission for the transplant yet. Victor tells Abby whatever Traci decides is okay with him. Nikki wonders if she should go talk to Traci, but Victor doesn't want her to be pressured.
Adam is in with Victor. He tells his father that Ashley had the baby last night and they're fine. Adam also tells Victor that Jack had put her in a psychiatric hospital - even though he tried to stop him. Adam says he stayed by her side and was there when she went into labor. Victor is glad. Adam shows Victor the baby's picture on his cell phone. Adam talks about watching Hope fade away, and expresses how awful it would be for him to lose Victor. Victor says he's sorry, and Adam apologizes too.
Victoria goes back in to see Victor. He asks if she knows Ashley had the baby. She says she thinks it's great, and it may be a good omen. Victor says whatever happens, she should be prepared for the worst.
This is Only the Beginning!
The Newmans are gathered in Victor's hospital room. He is getting weaker, but asks about Adam - he wants all his children there. Nick says he was there last night, but no one has seen him since. Jack suddenly enters the room. He says that Colleen listed herself as an organ donor on her license and that they are testing her heart as a possible match for Victor. Abby is upset and has to leave the room. Victor tells Jack that he is sorry that his family has to make this decision, but he's glad they did. Jack says not to thank them yet, and goes to check on Abby. Out in the hall, Colleen's doctor stops Jack and tells him that his sister Ashley and her newborn were just brought in!
In Victor's room, Nick and Nikki impress upon him how much it says about forgiveness that the Abbotts are even considering donating Colleen's heart. Victor says he wishes Phyllis and Summer were here so he could tell them how much he loves them. Nick says they'll be back soon, and reassures his father that he'll make it.
Nikki and Victor are chatting quietly in his room. He says she was the heart and soul of their family - even when he pushed her away, she never gave up on him or their children. As he tells her he's felt no greater love than the love he's felt for her, Ashley opens the door to the room and hears!
The Great Debate!
Nick and Victoria are in with Victor, who is urging them to say everything they need to say to him - in case he doesn't make it! Victor says he knows he's hurt both of them. Victoria reminds him of the beautiful letters he wrote to them before. Nick mentions how amazing Victor was when Summer was in the coma - he wonders if it was because of guilt. Victor says he prays everyday for Summer's full recovery.
