Inside his hospital room, Victor tells Michael that he is just reacting to Sabrina's death and he will not be committed against his will! Michael gets a call from Lauren just then. She tells him that River is being taken to Ann Arbor that night! Just then, the doctor comes in to see Victor and Michael leaves the room. The doctor explains to Victor that he is a psychiatrist. He asks Victor about being malnourished and dehydrated. Victor says he feels fine now and wants to be left alone. The psychiatrist pulls a stool up to the bed. "There are still some things we need to talk about!"
In Victor's hospital room, Nick and Victoria explain to him that he is suffering from depression and he needs to be monitored. Victoria asks him not to be offended, but they want him to sign himself up for psychiatric treatment. He refuses and says they've overstayed their welcome! Nick reminds him of what he went through when Cassie died - he didn't get help and he should have! The psychiatrist comes in and says they can help him feel more at peace. Victor scoffs. Victoria says she doesn't want to lose him and if he won't do it for himself then could he do it for her. Victor is silent, but ultimately agrees to sign the papers. They offer to go get him some things from the Ranch, and the orderly comes to take him upstairs in a wheelchair. When he's gone, Victoria and Nicholas embrace.
Victor is in the hospital and the doctors are tending to him as Nick tries to provide information. Nick gets on the phone and tells Victoria to find Mom and get over there pronto! When they arrive he explains about finding Victor at the art gallery. He tells Nikki that Victor said something about getting his life in order - it really scared him. He says he also said that whatever happened in Mexico made things worse! The doctor emerges and tells them that Victor is now in a room asking that he not have visitors. He collapsed because he hasn't been sleeping and is malnourished. Nick notes that his father has done this to himself!
In Victor's room, Victoria and Nikki stand by his bedside. As Nick comes in, Victor is telling Nikki that she is responsible for the death of his wife and unborn child and he doesn't want her help. "Get out." Victoria tries to intervene, but Victor wants them to leave, so they go out to the waiting area. They worry about what will happen if Victor goes home alone again. Victoria wants to have him committed for his own good. Nikki says that's too harsh, but Vikki argues he's a danger to himself. Victoria tells Nick he's the tie-breaker, but he doesn't have an answer yet. Paul approaches and takes Nikki aside to talk. She reiterates that she feels responsible, but Paul tells her it was fate - out of everyone's control, even Victor's. Nikki notes that her ex is really in trouble. Paul suggests that maybe she should back off a little. He tells her that he will go and see him if it makes her feel better, then gives her a kiss on the cheek.
Heather turns up in Victor's hospital room. She tells him she needs to talk to him about Adam. She says he doesn't show his emotion, but he's devastated by what happened between them. Victor says he doesn't give a damn and orders her out. She asks why he had to blackball Adam from every Fortune 500 company, and again, Victor hollers for her to get out! He tells Heather that she is wrong about everything - he was very kind to Adam and he behaved despicably when he thought he had died. He tells her to get out yet again, just as Paul walks in. He drags his daughter out of the room and she says, "He's hiding something!" Paul warns her that taking on Victor isn't good for her health, plus she could have lost her job. Heather tells him that it's his fault she's like this - it's genetic! Paul softens.
Michael arrives at the hospital just in time to hear Nick, Nikki, and Victoria talking to a hospital official about Victor's condition and that they're thinking about committing him for his own good. Michael strides into Victor's room. He demands that Michael get him out of there, but Michael warns that he may have to be evaluated first - his family is very concerned. Victor growls, "You get me out of here! I mean it!"
As Nick works at Restless Style, he suddenly hears loud music coming from downstairs. He heads down, where Victor is in Sabrina's art gallery, dreaming of dancing with his late wife. By the time Nick gets through the door, Victor is sitting in a weakened state on the floor. Nick helps him up and asks if he has eaten or slept. It is apparent that Victor has been in the gallery all night. Victor doesn't want Nick to call for help, but whispers, "What's happening to me?" Nick tells him he cares about him, but Victor wants to be left alone. "I'm empty. Just empty. Go." Nick asks him to tell him what is going on with him. Victor says he needs to put things in order and then leave town. "Something happened in Mexico." He doesn't elaborate, but tells Nick he's having everything in the gallery packed up and taken to auction!
As Nick goes upstairs to the magazine offices and wrestles with the idea of calling emergency services, downstairs the last of the packed-up art is taken from the gallery. Victor has kept the red egg that he once held Sabrina's ring, and is off in dreamland, thinking of his late wife. "Sabrina. I'm ready for you now." He begins to shout out for Sabrina. Suddenly, she seems to appear to him, surrounded by bright, white light. He is overjoyed that she has come for him. He wants her to take his hand, but she won't. "I won't let you do this. This is not what I want." She fades away, telling him to go back. He says there is nothing left for him without her. Just then, Nick's voice cuts through and he comes into the gallery. Victor is laying on the floor, unconscious.
Jack shows up at the Ranch. He cannot get past the guard, so he offers cash. When that doesn't work, he gives the guard a package, telling him to take it into Victor and tell him Jack says, "Come out and face me, you coward. Or I'll release these to the tabloids immediately!" The guard goes inside and Jack waits. The guard comes back out without Victor, but Jack says he'll wait - Victor may come out soon! Inside, Victor looks through the contents of the package Jack sent in - it's the photos of Sabrina in the wreckage!
Katherine arrives at the Ranch and hollers that she's coming in and they'll have to shoot her to stop her! Victor yells at the guards to let her in. Victor tells her to say what she has to stay and then kindly leave. Kay tells him that Sabrina would not have wanted him to live like this! She urges him to find a way to go on! "Life is for the living." He replies that his heart belongs to the dead. She sighs. Talk then turns to Mexico. She warns him that if anything happened in Mexico that he wants to keep secret, he should be aware that everyone is asking questions! He thanks her for coming.
