Ashley chases after Victor, yelling, "Wait! I understand. " He stops and they discuss how much love he had for Sabrina. Victor begins to talk about how she was carrying their child, and how nothing he did could save her when she was in the hospital. He speaks of how completely alone he feels now, more so than when his mother left him at the orphanage as a little boy. Ashley asks if that's it then. "If you give up, what will happen to me? I'll never be able to walk with you again." As she tears up, he takes her face in his hands and repeats that he feels so alone. But he embraces her impulsively, which leads to a kiss. He seems to cling to her.
Ashley strides through the streets of Paris, heading for Notre Dame, where she has a hunch that Victor might be found. As she consults the prayer card that Victor dropped earlier, she becomes more convinced that he might be at Notre Dame. Looking up at the church, she tearfully prays that Victor be healed and that he be brought back to her. Suddenly she turns - Victor is standing and watching her!
In the church in France, Victor continues to pray until the Father comes in and asks him to join him for something to eat. Victor tells him he prefers to be by himself right now. Victor says some more prayers then asks God if he's going to help him out of this depression. "I feel so alone."
The catholic priest sits in his office and calls Nick. He tells him that a man came to his parish and he has reason to believe that he may be his father. Nick asks if he is alright. The priest says that he cannot betray Victor's confidence, but he is very tormented and the priest says he is gravely concerned about his welfare - that's why he felt compelled to contact a family member. Nick thanks him profusely and writes down the location of the parish. The priest hangs up and goes back out to see Victor, who confides in him the guilt he has about the decisions he made on the night Sabrina died. The priest tells him it was God's will, but Victor questions how God could do such a thing! The priest tells him that in time, he will find the solace he seeks. After the priest leaves the room, Victor makes preparations to leave.
In the church in France, Victor once again kneels and lights candles. This time the priest speaks to him in a heavy accent. He offers him a place to stay where he will be safe from people bothering him. After he goes away, Victor sits and reads a prayer card for those who were never born, and those wrongfully accused.
Victor kneels at the altar in a church. Lighting candles and clasping his hands as in prayer. He then goes into the confessional and tells the priest that he has committed many sins!
Heather goes to the Ranch and Nikki opens the door to her. She wants her to answer some questions about her trip to Rio, but Nikki retorts that it was personal. Heather presses her to get her lawyer over to the house, so they can get on with things. "I can hardly wait!" Michael soon arrives at Nikki's door. When Heather asks if Victor told her where he was going next, Michael cuts her off, saying she has no basis to expect Nikki to answer such questions. Just then, Michael's cell phone rings. He listens, then hands the phone to Nikki, saying that Nick called her on his phone, because hers is turned off. But it's not Nick - it's Victor! Nikki's eyes grow large as Victor says to her, "I got a tip that they're investigating me - did you tell the authorities that I killed Walter Palin?" Nikki tells 'Nick' that they have a bad connection and moves out of the room. Heather complains, but Michael smiles and says Nikki can take ten phone calls if she likes. Meanwhile, Victor has figured out that law enforcement is there with Nikki, and warns her not to say a word about him. He tells her that she has no idea what really happened in Mexico, but it will come out soon enough. He tells her not to mistake the phone call for affection or concern - he meant every word he said to her on the beach in Mexico! He then asks for Michael. Nikki hands the phone over.
At the Ranch, Michael continues the phone call with Victor, who tells him that this is the last contact they will have - he is cutting off all communication! Michael tries to advise him against it, but Heather keeps interrupting! Just as Victor is telling Michael that he can keep the retainer, but he's releasing him from his contract, Heather realizes that it's not Nick, but Victor on the phone! Victor hears her and demands that Michael put her on the line! Michael advises him that it may not be a good idea, but Victor insists! Heather gets on the line and Victor tells her to listen and not say one word!
Victor, sitting by the fireplace in the Chateau, remembers giving Sabrina the key to the Chateau after he bought for them, and how happy she was that he had done such a thing. He slumps in his chair and sighs. He thinks back to Sabrina accepting his marriage proposal and then to her announcing that she was expecting. He muses to himself, "I will never forget my darling Sabrina, and what was taken from us. Never." Victor then thinks back to Sabrina in the hospital before she died, holding the photo of the Chateau and wondering what it would be like to spend time there. He holds the photo in his hand as he remembers. Soon, he rises from his chair and goes to gaze out the window. He then seems to make a decision, and with that, lights the curtains on fire! With opera music playing loudly, he watches as the Chateau begins to go up in flames!
Victor is on a jet. He takes a call from the pilot telling him that they are preparing to land!
