Nikki comes into Victor's room with some supplies. He tells her that he's leaving to go to a rehab place to speed his healing process. Victor asks her to come with him, explaining that he'll need the distraction of her beautiful face to get through it. She wants to talk to the kids first, and would only go to assist with his recovery. Victor says she's avoiding the subject of 'them' again. She admits that she is feeling a lot of trepidation about the idea of reconciling with him - last year he wanted her dead. Victor brushes off her concerns - he was just angry - he's never loved another woman like he does her. Suddenly, Abby bursts in and blurts, "She's the reason you and Mom are getting a divorce?!"
Ashley, who has followed Abby, comes into Victor's room. Nikki excuses herself. Ashley and Victor both try to placate Abby, but she asks a lot of questions, saying the kids at school say Victor stole a heart from someone who he killed! Ashley clears her throat and tells Abby the reasons for the divorce are between her and Victor. Abby is upset that she and Faith will only have one parent - her family is falling apart! She says that she wants them to leave her alone and storms out. Victor confirms to Ashley that he's going to a rehab clinic. Ashley approves. He tells her that when he comes back he'll take an active role with their children. Ashley leaves.
Nick turns up at Victor's room. He tells him that before he goes anywhere, he'll want to see this - he hands him the issue of Restless Style. Victor realizes that Billy had Jack's help. Nikki comes in and expresses outrage about the magazine article. Nick tells Victor that Ashley paid for Billy to acquire the magazine. Victor says she wouldn't have known about this. He decides they won't do anything about it - he doesn't want Abby to be dragged into another family feud. Nick says there's no way in hell he's letting this go! Nick leaves and Victor tells Nikki to stop talking about Billy - he then pulls out a show-stopping ring!
Dead.
At the ranch, Ashley is startled to find Victor in the living room. She reminds him that it's her home now and suggests they have some ground rules, like knocking on the door. He looks bewildered and accuses her of transforming him into an intruder. "I will not be barred from my own place," he says, threatening to throw her out. She tells him he has to treat her and the girls with respect. Ever since she had the baby, she's been rational again. Her panic dreams have stopped and she can relax... or she could if he wasn't in her face all the time. If he wants her to be happy, he should just leave her alone. "I will do that," he says.
Victor meets with Michael in his office to discuss his will. He tells the lawyer how hard it was to see Ashley and how he wants her and the children to be alright, whatever it takes. "I'm going to leave Genoa City for awhile," he says, asking him to keep an eye on Ashley while he's gone. Victor asks him to let Adam have more power at Newman. "I think my kids will handle the whole thing beautifully," he says. Michael suggests he wait on bringing Adam back into a position of power until he can be around to supervise. Adam arrives and tells them he knows who made the call. He hands them the phone records. Victor's disappointed to see it was one of his assistants. Michael excuses himself and slips into the hall to call Phyllis and tells her that Victor is leaving town. He then calls Nick and tells him that the traitor has been found.
Nick goes to see his father and tells him about the fight between Deacon and JT and his suggestion that Victoria leave town. Victor says he's leaving and he wants Adam to be in more of a position of power while he's gone. Nick thinks that's a bad idea.
I'm A Liar.
Nikki unpacks all of Victor's stuff. He sits on the sofa and says they can deal with that later. He wonders what's really going on so she explains that she discovered he came looking for her the night she left. He tells her she's always avoiding talking about the future, their future. Abruptly, she says she has to take care of some things and leaves.
At the club, Victoria tries calling JT, telling him that she loves him and asking him not to leave things the way they have. She gets off the phone and sits down with Michael to complain about how she's being trashed in the press. Katherine comes over and welcomes Victoria to the club of those hounded by the media. After she walks off, Victor comes in and sits down with them. She tells him about how the press is treating her and how hard it is to sit back and take it. Her father advises her not to deal with the press while she is angry. "I'm going to take over now. I know how to deal with these media hacks," he says. She refuses to let him fight her battles and vows to fix this on her own. "Dad, I want your blessing," she says. He asks Michael to leave them alone and tells his daughter to stay above the idiocy of the press. She agrees to stay quiet as long as he promises that they can destroy whoever ratted them out.
Back at the club, Michael and Victor continue their meeting. Victor brings up his will and explains that he is about to make some big changes in his life. Adam comes in and tells Victor that he knows what's been going on and won't let him down. Victor walks away to take a call and Michael lays into Adam, accusing him of trying to play them. "Is that a threat?" Adam asks with a giggle.
Not Even in the Same Universe!
Jack arrives at the chapel and chats with Phyllis. They agree they don't want to discuss Victor, and when they look over at Nick, Phyllis muses how hard this must be for him in light of his loss. JT and Vikki arrive and everyone takes their places. The Reverend mentions that the father couldn't be there, but Victor and Nikki appear at the back of the chapel. Ashley tells Victor to come stand beside her. Victor takes the baby in his arms, and then hands her back to Traci. Ashley announces that her name will be Faith Colleen Newman. The child is baptized, and Adam then holds her. When everyone is asked to sign, Traci takes the baby and wonders if Nick would hold her. He does. Phyllis says she has the Newman eyes. Sharon, who is still in the church, hears the baby's cries. Adam spots her lingering near the door.
