Jack is on the phone at Jabot telling someone to find out how much Victor's bid was. Victor walks in and asks if he's having a bad day. He tells Jack he's accompanied by Jabot's new ambassadress. To Jack's surprise, Gloria Bardwell walks in triumphantly! Jack points out that her public image is one of lawsuits and scandal! Gloria feels the public will see her as a survivor. Jack angrily warns that he'll have her wages garnished to pay off what he owes her. Glo says she's agreed to work for next to nothing out of love for Jabot. When she leaves to pick out an office, Jack asks Victor if he is so angry at him that he would purposely ruin his own investment. Victor reminds him that he promised to make his life a living hell - and this is just the beginning! Jack tells him Gloria is more like a spitball than a thunderbolt from the sky! Jack says this is his own fault - he convinced his sister to let him go on living! Victor notes that unlike Jack, he will make sure the company goes back to Katherine eventually. He tells Jack the company will be in good hands before leaving. Jack glares.
Katherine meets up with Victor at Jabot. She says she's glad that the company is in good hands. He tells her it will be safe until he can return it to her. She tells him about her visit with Tucker - saying he doesn't care about her at all! Kay leaves and Gloria comes in. Victor isn't interested in hearing her ideas - she asks if he ever will be!
Victor arrives at Tucker's office. They discuss the deal, and Tucker remarks that Victor must be in a hurry to return Jabot to his good friend, Katherine. Victor plays it close to the vest regarding his plans. Tucker admits that Kay is tougher than he gave her credit for. Victor says he'll find out just how tough she is in time! They engage in business talk about what a good investment Jabot is, and Victor thanks him before leaving. Outside the door, Victor looks smug.
Who Are You?
Victor and Nick celebrate at Newman. Victor muses that he would give anything to see Jack's face when he finds out about Jabot. He tells Nick that his idea was a stroke of genius. Nick says he can empathize with Jack - he knows how he would feel if he lost his company. Victor says it's cold, hard business. Adam comes in and gloats about going undercover. Victor tells him the entire ruse was Nick's idea! Adam is put out, and Nick informs him that he loves the company as much as he does. Victor tells Adam to go back to Tucker and continue the ruse. After Adam leaves, Nick tells Victor he thinks it was a mistake to tell Adam it was his idea. Victor assures Nick he's in control of everything, including Adam!
Victor arrives at Jabot, where Ashley and Jack ask if he came to gloat. Victor says he came to deliver a message in person - they have one week to clear their things out of there! Jack tells him there is no way he could have known how much he was bidding for Jabot unless he had inside information. Victor remarks casually that he made sure he had the highest bid. Jack threatens to put him through the window, then leaves. Ashley says to Victor, "This isn't just about Jack, it's about me too, isn't it?" Victor insists it's nothing to do with her, she shouldn't take it personally. He reiterates that Jack needs to be out in a week, then leaves. Jack comes back in and tells Ashley that if Victor cheated, he's going to find out, and then nail him to the wall!
Nick goes back to Newman, where he tells Victor that Noah has left. Victor remarks that he's sorry Noah saw the fight at the Club. Victor asks Nick to excuse him - he needs to make a phone call. Nick asks him again who is going to be the CEO of Jabot, but Victor won't say. Nick leaves, and Victor leaves someone a phone message, telling them to call him back - he's acquired a new company that they would be very interested in!
No Drama!
Adam is in the bookstore and is talking to Victor on the phone. Victor says he got keys made from the imprints Adam took from Tucker. Adam says the tricky part will be getting him out of the office long enough. Adam takes an envelope Victor left in the bookshelf. Nick and Victor are in another part of the bookstore. Nick asks Victor if he thinks Adam can pull it off. Victor says he wants to impress his father!
Victor calls Adam and gives him the all clear once he knows Tucker is at the Club. Adam uses the key to go into Tucker's office. He lets himself into a locked drawer and starts opening the bids in envelopes inside. He uses a camera to take photos of the bids once opened, and forwards them to Victor's computer. Jack's is the biggest by far. Victor is pleased.
Nick is back at Newman, where he and Victor discuss the bids, and decide how much to offer for Jabot. Victor gives Nick their bid and tells him to get it sent over to Tucker McCall's office quickly!
Tucker is back in his office, when Adam comes in. Tucker says it's time to open up the bids and see what they think. The phone rings - it's Victor, telling Tucker that an offer will arrive momentarily. Adam answers a knock at the door and takes the Newman bid. Tucker tells Victor that he knew he wouldn't pass up the chance to throw his hat in!
