Jack finds Emily in the dining room at the Club and invites her to join his family for Thanksgiving at the Abbott home. She accepts and grins to herself after he walks away.
Emily arrives at the Abbott Mansion, and thrills Jack by revealing that she's a huge football fan! Ashley and Abby arrive, and Ashley tearfully tells Jack that Abby is full of attitude. Jack introduces Ashley to Emily, who acknowledges that her appearance is unsettling. Abby is introduced, and informs everyone that Jack dating Patty's lookalike is 'whack'. Emily advises Ashley to let Abby work out her anger issues. The phone rings and Jack exhales - it's Traci. Jack speaks to her as brightly as possible. Billy arrives and they all are seated. Abby announces that she's not eating the bird - she's a vegan. Ashley blurts, "Since when?" Jack interrupts to make a toast to them being together. Abby starts texting at the table and Ashley asks her not to do it there - so she gets up and leaves the room! Ash follows. Emily also gets a call and leaves the room. Billy then confronts Jack for dating Emily and being a hypocrite by making a toast about the importance of family when his is crashing and burning around him! Billy leaves and Jack stands alone. Emily comes back into the Abbott dining room where Jack is alone. He says they can still salvage this and make new memories, but Emily tells him she has to go to the hospital. Jack kisses her at the door, then walks back in and sits at the abandoned table, eating alone.
At the Club, Jack listens to the phone message from Nick which says their deal isn't going to happen. Katherine comes down the stairs and stops to dial her own phone. She calls Nick and asks him to meet her regarding business.
Jack arrives at the tack house looking for Nick. Phyllis tells him that Nick's not there, but she needs to talk to him. Jack is in a lather about Nick deciding the deal is off. Phyllis realizes why Nick opted out - she informs Jack that she told Nick they slept together! Jack questions her sudden attack of conscience. Phyllis explains about Patty seeing them, and thinking she is Diane - she has the past and present tangled up! Jack realizes that Patty poisoned Summer to get revenge on Diane, who was actually Phyllis. Jack muses that Nick must hate his guts! Phyllis points out that Nick was with Sharon at the time. Just then, Nick comes through the door. Phyllis tells him that she told Jack what happened with Patty. Jack begins an involved apology, but Nick cuts him off saying there is nothing to gain by looking at the past. Jack brings up the business deal, but Nick assures him he won't be going into business with him! Jack tells him not to let emotion cloud his judgment - Nick says that's what he did when he agreed to it in the first place! Phyllis wonders if Nick is Jack's last resort. Nick says he'll always be grateful for Jack being there when he was little, but that's over. After he leaves, Nick tells Phyllis about his meeting with Kay. He notes he also saw Adam, who is out in the open, but being very careful - which probably means he's hiding something! Phyllis tells Nick she's defrosting a turkey to have Thanksgiving there. Nick raises his eyebrows at the idea of her cooking, but says it will be great.
Jack drops in on Ashley at the Ranch. He looks at Faith sleeping, and Ash asks if he is there about the Chancellor stock again. He says he's glad she is investing, but he won't be buying any stock. He wants to talk about Thanksgiving - things aren't what they should be with the family. He calls Billy and makes arrangements for a Thanksgiving meal.
Jack is at Crimson Lights flirting with Emily. He tells her to call him when she's ready for their date. She leaves and Jack calls Nick to see how he's feeling about the business deal. Nick says he's interested, but just got home and will call him tomorrow.
At the Ranch, Adam fusses over what to wear and asks Ashley's advice. She realizes he wants to impress someone. Just then, Sharon calls him - she says she made reservations for them, but Adam thought they were going to meet at her house. Sharon says it's time for him to come out of hiding. Jack arrives and trades a barb with Adam, before asking Ashley again about the Chancellor stock. Ashley says she will be investing in it - she just won't be doing it with him! They argue as she tries to explain her reasons, and Jack pushes about Jabot being their legacy. Ashley says he's done too many things she disapproves of - he needs to accept this! Jack leaves, and Adam asks Ashley about the project she mentioned to him. She says she still can't tell him any details. She wonders who he's seeing tonight. He keeps mum.
Jack meets Emily at the Club and gives her a huge bouquet of flowers. He takes her to a surprise location - the Abbott Mansion. He introduces himself as her waiter for the evening. Emily remarks how nice this is - no one staring at her because of Patty. Jack says he'll be the only one staring at her tonight. They sit down with a drink, and she expresses dismay that she was so hard on him in the beginning. Jack says at least they can avoid the conversation where they expose their baggage. Emily wonders why he stays in his childhood home - it's easy to slip into old patterns there. Jack says it's his father's home, it's too difficult to leave. He tells her he's disillusioned with his siblings. Emily says if he lets go of an old dream, he can make room for a new one.
Jack takes Emily back to the Club after their dinner and says goodnight. When they kiss, Paul, who is in the dining room, notices and doesn't look happy about it. As Jack watches Emily walk up the stairs, he sees a message from Nick on his phone.
At the Club, Kay looks at a proposal Jack is showing her - she's impressed - but tells him he's still not getting in on the stock offering. He smiles, saying it wasn't meant to be.
