As the patrons inside the bar ring in the New Year, a car pulls up beside Billy. A woman gets out and walks through the snow - it's Victoria Newman. She asks Billy if he's okay, then reaches a hand out and pulls him up, saying she'll take him home. He goes with her.
Billy shows up at the door to the Chancellor Estate. Kay is reluctant to let him in, given how his last visit went. Chloe, then Murphy, comes to the door. Murphy warns that he'd better be sober. Billy acknowledges that his last visit left something to be desired. They agree to let him come in and see Delia. Once in the living room, Chloe gives Billy a present from Delia. She and Chance recall how she had everyone in the store smiling. Billy glares at Chance. As the visit continues, Chance comes over and takes Delia from Billy - he watches as Chance and Chloe interact. His friend phones to invite him to a party, and Billy tells them he's leaving - big plans! Outside the door, Billy tells his friend that he's just not in the mood for a party tonight.
Billy is outside the bar and calls Jack to wish him a Happy New Year, and asks what he's up to tonight. Jack says he actually just got engaged. Billy tells him he's very happy for him. He goes inside the bar and looks at his phone which says, "Breaking news at RS: Jack Abbott to marry darling doctor." Mac soon arrives. Billy hollers that it's New Year's Eve and all the drinks are on him!
Eden and Noah are ordering from Ryder at Crimson Lights. Ryder tells them that he spent Christmas working. Ashley and Traci are there and Traci, overhearing, says that's kind of sad. Eden replies that if anyone deserves to be alone it's Ryder! Billy comes in ranting at Chance who has brought him in to get a coffee. Ashley and Traci tell Chance they'll take it from here. Traci tells Billy they're going to Jack's. Billy says they didn't even invite him - they tell him he didn't answer his phone or return their calls. Billy doesn't want to go with them, so they herd him outside to get a cab.
Mac is at the bar and notices Billy is trying to call her. She doesn't answer her phone, musing, "Oh, Billy." Soon, he appears in the bar. Mac asks how he got there - she thought Chance was taking him home. She gives him coffee and he adds to it from his flask. Billy pulls a bracelet out of his pocket - the charm says 'A Smile Like This', which is the karaoke song they sung together. Mac comes over and he hides it, then apologizes for blurting out her pregnancy news earlier. Billy then complains about the do-gooders in the world - like Chance trying to be Delia's father. Mac suggests he start being one then, instead of sitting in bars every night. He tells Mac to take him home, then bugs for a kiss on the way out, and on the way to the trailer. Once there, she puts him to bed and notices the bracelet which falls out of his pocket.
Paul arrives at the Chancellor Estate and greets Nina, Katherine, and Murphy. Kay and Murphy are wearing the latest in fishing vests. Murphy explains that they're going ice-fishing! They wander into the living room, where Chance is hanging up with Phillip, and Mac has just spoken to Brock. The happy group is interrupted by Billy, who comes in inebriated! In no time at all, he spills the beans about Mac being pregnant! Jill has arrived and asks if it's true? Mac sighs and says she wanted to wait before telling anyone. Chloe murmurs to Chance that this must be the last nail in the coffin for Billy and Mac.
All are gathered in the Chancellor living room again, and Billy is acting very drunk while holding the baby. He tells Chance not to try to be Delia's father. Chance insists that he's not. Chloe demands that Billy hand Delia over to her - he's drunk and slobbering - she deserves better. Billy says sorry to Delia and gives her to Chloe. Chance threatens to arrest Billy if he drives. Billy laughs and carries on, and Chance finally says he'll drive him home. After they leave, everyone looks at one another in awkward silence. Nina shows Paul out and Jill admits to Katherine that she was never dating Paul - they were working on a surprise for her - and the name is in this box!
At Fenmore's, Daisy, Amber, and Lauren are chatting when Billy comes in looking for a cute outfit for Delia. Lauren asks him about Christmas, knowing it will be difficult without Colleen. Daisy goes to get something, and when she comes back, Billy asks Amber her opinion on it. Amber is distracted and moves aside to look in her locket.
Billy turns up with gifts at the Abbott house, and is surprised to see Emily there by herself. She urges him to stick around and wait to see Jack, saying nothing would make him happier than to have his family there. Billy shrugs, and admits that things are kind of funky with the ex, and funky with the new ex too. She encourages him to talk about it, but he just says things got messed up this year. He heads out, with Emily encouraging him to reconsider and come to the house tomorrow.
Billy goes to the Ranch with gifts. Adam, holding Faith, tries to get rid of him, saying Ashley is out and Abby's not in a good mood. Billy pushes past him into the house and tells Adam that he doesn't know what his game is, but he should stay out of his way! Sharon appears at the Ranch and Adam quickly puts the baby down in the bassinet. Billy and Abby come downstairs. Abby says she's going out with Billy. Adam asks where, and Billy says it's none of his business. On his way out, Billy tells Sharon she can do much better than Adam. Once the door closes, Adam takes Sharon in his arms and tells her how strong she is - he admires and respects her. He tells her he loves her, and she says she loves him too. They kiss. Faith begins to fuss and Ashley comes through the door. As Ashley takes the baby, Adam stands uncomfortably between the two women.
