They have done entirely too much damage to the characters, sets, the storylines, the relationships, and the working environment. Nothing feels the same. It really does not feel like Y&R anymore. Entirely too many viewers have lost interest and faith in the ability of TPTB to right this sinking ship. The plot-driven storylines were too dreary and depressing and took the characters in the wrong directions. They spent too much time doing a hatchet job on everything and everybody instead of starting at a point where their creativity presented great ideas (both positive and negative) and riveting or at least engaging storylines. So Cane and Lily were not and still are not the only victims of this hatchet team. It is going to be difficult to get back the aura and the FULL magic that this couple always suggested on screen--at least for Y&R. They are still by far the best& most loving couple on Y&R. No other couple has that, so there are no replacements. What astonishes me even more than what has been done to Lily & Cane is that Victor was being written into a corner or unfavorable light to turn off fans and EB did not detect it. I could list each character and point out similar hatchet jobs, but I will stop here. I am sure you will get it sooner or later in future posts from me. PEACE!! hey there g4'~ Great post 'Suds and right on the money too! I can only hope that things will get better, yes? Atleast for Lane and maybe someday the show will find it's magic once again. One thing I always loved about y&r (even when I wasnt a fan)IS sth that we dont see anymore-no more interactions between the characters and the families in genoa city that makes sense, no sense of continuity derived from the history of the show because that same hx has been erased and all jumbled up and rewritten ugh....doesnt make sense....................... Lily had her beautiful hair and Cane had a family. When I saw the photo shoot after the Wedding it just saddened my heart how much loss Lane has suffered. Even though he is a real pain in the azz Billy was still Cane's brother. Because Billy believed this he at least tried with Cane. Now I hear we are about to go through another hateful feud between the two. Cane had such a wonderful relationship with Jill before it came out she wasn't his mother. The short lived happiness Lane had after their wedding was so sweet to watch. The potential for Lane to one day have a baby carried by Lily gave me such anticipation that we would one day see Cane caressing Lily's stomach with a big goofy smile on his face with the thought that she was carrying his first child. With a stroke of a pen, poof the many dreams and desires we had for Lane are all gone. They are trying to restore some things but it will never be the same. They took her ability to see her body tranformed by motherhood, she will never experience that. Another woman will have to do this for her, this is just injustice at it's highest point. I see the fans of Sharon carrying on so about the baby switch, but at least we all know that she will be reunited with her child and have great joy. I would trade Lily situation with Sharon's in a heartbeat. A baby switch verses never carrying your own child. But the Lane fans will never fully have that joy, sure we probably will get a baby Ashby but it will be bittersweet because we will have to watch another woman have the joy and fulfillment of carrying baby Ashby instead of our beloved Lily. To me this is unforgivable and I will never forgive Y&R for the unnecessary damage they have done to Lane. End the drought and let it Lane!!!! Wow Anny reading your post made me sad. It is so true. I was just looking at the clips of when Cane and Lily moved in together and the clips where she brought Humphrey home and the future was beaming so bright. I really do not think I can ever forgive Y&R for making Lily barren. I don't want Cane involved with Billy anymore and I wish they would send Mac back to Dafur or pawn her off on JT and Victoria, but not Lane. I still hope for some type of medical miracle someday for Lily even if the 1st child is via surrogate. Lane is still magic and i am sitting on the edge of my seat anticipating bald love. I just wish for Y&R to realize the beauty that is this couple. They are trying to manufacture what Lane has with Chloe and Chance but it will never work, because most of the magic that is Lane is due to DG and CK and it can not be manufactured. I just hope something good is in store for us Lane fans because Lawd knows we need it. Lane has had more angst and depression than anyone on the show. Who knew we would miss LML this much. |

Lanealways, I know exactly what you mean. I only started watching the show 3 years ago but I always heard about the quality of the show being a notch above the rest. The writers were in tune with the characters and the storylines flowed naturally. Somewhere along the way things have changed. Now I won't pretend to be totally invested in the whole show, my main interest is Lane and getting them back on track. If some hot shot writer comes in to repair the major storylines then all the better. Much love to Lily and Cane! |

Good evening everyone. I am really missing our favorite couple and if I understand correctly we won't be seeing them until the week of November 2nd. What a long time to wait. Every night for the past two weeks I have been watching clips of them on youtube. I have gone all the way back to when he was with Amber to the famous divorce party kiss. To this day that was the hottest kiss ever on Y&R. After that kiss I was hooked on this couple forever. I just wish we could get Lane clips on DVD. This way we could watch them as much as we like. To night I am up to the clip when she just found out she's having Cane's baby and is afraid to tell her father. These clips are classic Lane. |

The important thing is I show my support for Lane here and when I vote for them on-line-the one that the results go in the magazines. I know that I'm not a Lane fan so I really have no business being in this thread. However, this post caught my eye. I play the hurt and heal games every day, and I feel that justifying your vote isn't necessary. I like Shick, but they are up very high now and I want Jana and Kevin to win so I hurt them. I just don't feel that people should be called out like this to justify their vote. Not trying to cause trouble or anything. Just wanted to be heard.

Everyone in that episode was feeling their lost love, their soon to be lost love and Lily trying to hide her developing feelings for Cane. It's just a beauitful clip. If you have not seen it, please take a look at. You will really feel what Lily was feeling. Started to reply to the last post, but thought better about it. This is for Lane lovers and we do love them. |

Is this some type of nightmare that Y&R has forced us Laners plus Cane and Lily to swallow? 
It seems just like yesterday Lane was moving into a beautiful home, looking forward to passionate nights, building new careers or rebuilding old ones, beginning a family, and forging a powerful partnership that dared anyone to stand in their way. I know actors and actresses need great story lines, but the "garbage of story lines" Lane has participated in have been heart wrenching to say the least and just plain stupid. Well, one thing I can truly say is DG and CKH definitely know how to make magic happen with their scripts. I just love these two. I wouldn't mind seeing them five days a week. I'm so hungry for Lane; I will go back and watch old scenes on youtube because I miss them so much. Y&R owes us alot of Lane footage containing lots of love scenes and deep intimate conversations pushing their love forward.
