Seems like lately, most of the storylines revolve around either the young characters, teen lines, fashion madness, or angst, or "who's the daddy" (who cares, huh)...OR it's about how some characters are written as brainless as a bowling bowl...Cane can't be that stupid and neither should Adam (he was brought on the show as someone with a law degree from Harvard, 2nd in his class behind Skye) and now, ole smilin' Jack can dupe him beyond all recognition! |

Where is the C L A S S I C Y&R we all came to love and watch for so many years? Victor needs to return to take the Newman Enterprises conglomeration to higher heights and to once again battle Jabot for supremacy...couples need to stay together and not try to pull one over on each other all the time...I know it's just entertainment and it's only a soap, but soaps get daytime awards and I can't see that happening this go around if things don't pick up and don't keep leaving the viewer wanting more or resolve or meaning or something that just seems lacking, IMO, on this right now...thanks, I'm off my "soap box"... (sigh) I'm afraid it died with Bill Bell. Let's face it, the show has been in the crapper ever since. LML threw out baby, bathwater and the tub too... this new batch of bunglers is doing no better. Yes. I really tried to give the new writers the benefit of the doubt, but they've proven to be as bad as their predicessor (sp). Hell, some of us on the board that have stopped watching would make better writers than what we've witnessed over the past 3 years. |

Allow me to comment..I have been watching since day 1--some of the storylines of today are just repeats of yesteryear only the players have changed. Sometimes I get a little bored with the "teeniebopper" stuff--but I remember the teens of yesteryear are the adults of today. For instance, Traci, Danny, Paul, Nikki, Lauren were the young crowd on Y & R once upon at time. Now they are the ones with the "adult" problems. |

We're in the 21st century and the writers are still writing the same old same old stuff. The ratings are down and they will not win any awards with this kind of writing. It's really more entertaining reading these boards! |

I see your point in your comment, but the other "non-younger" original or close to it characters ARE still there and seem to be overlooked, like Jill or Paul...just to name two, things going on with the show just seem to be detached from the foremat the show was intended to be...but your point was good and well taken... |

Yeah, like I said in another post, the show is for 20 years old and under now. |

Jill's story could definitely expand from where it is right now. There is plenty of room. I'm not so sure about Paul... His s/l with Maggie fizzled and the last BIG thing he was really involved with was when Sheila was on the loose. |

Quote BabygirlAH: Yeah, like I said in another post, the show is for 20 years old and under now. Agree...and those of us that have watched religiously for many, many years, day in and day out, week after week would like it to NOT JUST be for a 20 year old and under person, since we are not...a good mix is good, but a lopsided mix is not good... |
