Lily Winter’s character has become a very pathetic, needed and indecisive person. I have tried to give the character of Lily a chance but every time the writers show the character making progress forward she moves fives steps backwards. For example when she finally told Chloe off, and called her a bit@h, and told her about messing with Cane she immediately took it back and apologized within the same episode. Another example is when Lily told Colleen her feelings about her possibly taking her old job on the same day she quit and then later told Colleen she was fine with her working at Jabot in her old job. Or more recently and most disturbing when Lily was trapped on the elevator with Cane she told Cane how she felt about him hiring Colleen out of all the models in the world. Lily also told Cane that she was a loser looking for love on a dating site, because Chloe who she told him to marry was in the house she should be in. Then before the show was over she was kissing him and then running out of the elevator. So here are my problems: given Lily’s past how is her lack of maturity and low self-esteem even an issue at this point. Let’s see, Lily mentions looking for love on a dating site, this is how she met Kevin, who she had sex with and caught an STD. But I guess she forgot about that. Also she was married to Daniel and divorced him from looking at porn and lying about his addiction. Before the divorce she would not even touch Daniel, she moved out and would not speak to him. However, she will still speak to Cane who got someone else pregnant after a drunken night out when Lily was out if town. Now granted us the viewers know that Chloe is a schemer, however Lily’s character does not know that information, all she knows is that Cane went out got drunk and slept with Chloe. Lily has seen the DNA test that Cane ordered that puts him in the matching group; he has married Chloe, so why on earth would she talk to him. Then she calls herself a loser, if anyone is a loser it is Cane, where is her self respect. Cane is a loser how do you get duped twice by two women within a year, and both times you were drunk. So as far a this issue goes Lily shouldn’t even be talking to Cane, she treated Daniel her husband far more strict and coldly. Also Lily has gone through some rough patches in her live like the loss of her mother and the loss of her child, so why has the character not matured from the circumstances in her life. This is not a matter of Lily acting like her mother Dru, this is just having common sense, and learning from past mistakes. The character of Lily never seems to grow up and the writers have her regress instead of progress after obstacles in her life.

I do agree with you're feelings about how Lily handled the Daniel situation v.s the Cane situation... though they both ammount to cheating on her (since she believes Cane is the father of Chloe's baby.) I thought the whole porn freak out was stupid, but Daniel crossed the line when he started looking at Amber's.
I am sick of seeing people bashing Lily all the time though. It seems that the same people who hate sleezy hoe's also dislike virtuous woman like Lily.

I don't think she should have backed down with Colleen, but I like what she's doing with Cane. Doing the right thing and wanting the man she loves is obviously a conflicting matter, but everyone would hate her too if she was chasing after Cane while he is believed to be the father of Chloe's baby. As for being like Dru... I personally never really liked her.

You know Lilly is doing this on-line love search....I wonder who will come into her life?? Someone old or someone new? I just hope that it is not Devon....gag...gag!!

I hope someone new. I wasn't watching when the whole Kevin thing happened, so when I saw people talking about that I was like wha?? Kevin and Lily dated?? They had sex...???

Not only do they swap, they're all cool about it later. I don't understand how Lily could be supportive of Colleen at Daniel's show wehn she was just married to him lst year. Too much couple swappin in GC

Lily's Character is just too wishy washy, for me. And, the Cane and Chloe thing is unbelieveable. No one thinks that Cane really is the Father of Chloe's baby. Lily should have believed Cane, in the first place, and Cane shouldn't have "stepped up", for someone like Chloe. He knew that he wouldn't have sex with her. It's not like he is the kind of guy who gets so drunk that he blacks out!! And, he was so easily convinced that he did??? I hate this whole s/l.And, Billy actually appears to care for the silly strumpet anyway! So, why didn't she just tell Billy that he is the Dad, in the first place?Grrr...

;) Chatterbox, I feel you on everything that you have said, but in the last part of your post, you ansered your own question, its the writers, the power of the pen. If you and I were the writers or at least part of the team, I'm sure Lily would be totally in control and chloe would not be married to cane. Now, some say that Lily is just naturally sweet, some say so sweet that she is probably this way off screen, well I wouldn't know about that, she is an actress and I won't bash her. But what I do know is she can only act the way the writers portray her to be. I'm sure since this is her job, if they put the pen to work in that direction and give her some strength and guts she will play the part very well, its what she gets paid for, acting the part, whatever that may be. So in saying this, we have to give her a break, its her job to do what she does, and its only a soap. A world where little make sense. And besides, I like little ms lily, and cane too, their so cute together

:~ I hate the storyline to Uggerly, Its all so crazy, what I disliked the most was, no one would listen to cane, not even lily, and we know that Neil didn't really want him with lily anyway. But this is how the writers wrote it, so what do we do deal with it. And no one thought to at least have the sonogram read by a licensed doctor. All of a sudden, everyone became doctors and said "do the right thing marry choe" I was like what the H-----. In reality I believe that cane in his heart would know if he slept with chloe, but with everyone bashing him, he would have thought, well maybe I did and just don't remember. Neil, Devon, Lily, and Jill really didnt help the situation, just really upset me during that time. Oh, but Ms K, Katherine Chancellor, was the only one that made good sense. He didn't have to marry chloe to establish rights, and I would have added, in 2008!!!

let lily move on.leave cane behind.she needs to worry about her self .she always seems like she has to be with someone and in love to feel good about herself. why can't she be ok without a man.she need to take a good look at herself and see why she feels the need to be with someone all the time.sometimes the writers don't always show what happens.they always flash back to a time the person is thinking about.so what if he and chloe did hook up and the child is really his.so are they going to make cane and lily the new nick and sharon or nikki and victor.i don't believe lily and cane when they are together.they seem mismatch.i don't see any sparks between them.i rather see lily with some one who when she is with them .you can really feel it.

It's the writers for sure. They continue to give Lily lame and stupid s/l's. They won;t let her grow up and now she is doing cyber dating..... which is so old.
Blame the writers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
