This breaking news just in......a stylist who has been living in Genoa City under the name of Chloe Mitchell is actually Kate Valentine, daughter of the notorious Esther Valentine, maid of the uber-wealthy Katherine Chancellor. She knew she had a tough road ahead with her and knew she needed to change her identity in order to survive. It was an agonizing decision, but one that needed to happen if she was to get ahead in life. |

I for one don't see the shame of having a mother that is a maid. My mom was a maid and I helped out lots of times I see no shame in that. Chloe was lucky her mom worked for Katherine and was respected enough by her to take an interest in her child. She received a great, expensive education from her mother's boss. She should be grateful, instead she wants to scam her. The problem is not with her mom, it's with her. Her thank you to Katherine is ; lets take as more money as I can get from the woman who cares so much for my mother. Same on her. |

There are things that are children are naturally sensitive to. In this day and age NOBODY dresses in those silly maid costume. That is such a farce!!! I for one don't blame Chloe for being at least weirded out when her mother shows up at the coffee house dressed like she is going to a costume party. |

Chloe should be glad her mother earns an honest living and provided well for her. She should be the one who's embarassed about the treatment of her mom. |

That is silly that chloe would me embarrassed that her mom is a maid. She should be happy she has a job, and a good one at, with a respectable boss. O.k. the uniform at CL was alittle over the top. When I was a teenager, my mom worked a really nice restaurant as a waitress. Every christmas she would wear this little short red dress with the white boa on it. She would wear it to the grocery store on her way to work. I was never embarassed but thought it so funny the looks she got. She went around saying "Merry Christmas." |

Maybe somehow Esther overlooked it when Chloe was a teenager. I get it all the time, it's nothing now! I would have preferred they be ashamed of their mother job as a maid vs. just plain old mom! |

Amen to that. Chloe/Kate, of course, is the type of person who is self-absorbed and wants the best in life. I like Esther's response to her about how much she enjoyed working for Mrs. C. I'm sure Mrs. C. will provide quite well for Esther! |

Poor Esther certainly loves her horrible daughter unconditionally. Chloe didn't even flinch when Esther told her how much it use to hurt her feelings when she only let her visit when her friends (what friends??) weren't around. I have a foster daughter that has a mother that lives on the sreets because of her drug life, and she loves her mom to death, as she should. She could give Chloe lessons. One day Chloe will really need her mom and she won't be there. Esther is too good for Chloe. |
