Cliff was hit broadside by a drunk driver (Victor was informed by Hope's friend Betty Arnold and he flew to Kansas to support Hope) Cliff died from his injuries.
Vic Jr/Adam was around three at the time.

He came with Hope to GC after Cliff's death, but they left again after Victor married Dianne Jenkins.

So if someone was abusing Adam it couldn't have been Cliff.

I don't think thee is anything to uncover about Adam. He is such a power hungry person and he appears to be a little obsessive. But that is all I see and I hope he is not any worse than that.

Something is definitely up with Adam, I remember his first scene with Neil in the break room and Neil started to ask him a few questions and he asked him a particular question about some job in NY and Adam got all nervous and change the subject ASAP. Then there was that time when Phillis said she saw him in NY , when they were there separately for business and he denied it was him. She said he was wearing the same jacket and knew for sure it was him.

There isn't a whole lot we know about this young man and I'm starting to believe he is up to some serious shyt. I can't wait to find out what it is.

Adam is the answer to the death of Shelia, little do we know but he used to murder all the neighborhood pets and pull the wings off of butterflies......

I would love to see a domestic violence storyline as one of the "issues" that soaps do. Who knows? Maybe a stable hand or someone smacked him around a bit?

Adam is greedy he wants to be like Victor. From Day one he was very unpleasant to Victory and he wanted Nick's wife even after he found out who she was. Adam started off giving a bad appreciation and he never stopped from then on. I'm glad he was kicked out because he cant be trusted. He should have been Brads son.............

I think Adam's dark secret is that he is an abuser. He is just so screwed up...I wonder what he and the young woman murdered by David Chow were up to while they were at Harvard. There was something shady about their relationship.

Adam was very jealous of Victoria and Nick, from the very beginning. He started being a real jerk when Victor was assumed dead, and I dont think Adam really cared if Victor was alive or dead, he wanted his money and power, and there is something strange going on also, and he could have been abused. He fired Neil and that was bad right off the bat. He should have tried to have worked with Nick and Victoria. Even though Victoria is spoiled, I believe she would have eventually would have accepted Adam. I am glad that Victor fired Adam, because he did disobey his orders of trying to work wtih Victoria and Nick, and firing Neil, that is what nipped Victors decision...So, we shall see what happens..

I wish the siblings could have gotten along, it would have been nice, but the writers appear to have decided to take his character totally in a different director. What ashame. I'll miss what Adam could have been to the show. I guess all the writers really want is the original Newmans. How boring is that.
