It bothered me too. So I looked it up and in order to be a JR> you have to have the exact name including middle name. So Adam is not a JR.

Quote Sunnyflower: Does it really matter that your middle name is different?

It seems to me that Victor Newman is sufficient to make you a Jr.

LOL i wasnt sure thatz WHY i asked silly!

Here's what i just found out:

He cannot be a Jr if he doesnt carry the name in its entirety. The child must be a son of the father, not a grandson. And the name must be replicated exactly.

Quote HOT PINK: Maybe the "back-up" writers during the writer's strike didn't know Victor's real name.

I don't get what the issue is. His name is Victor, hence Victor Jr.

Nope-in order to be a Jr the name must be the same as the Sr.

Says who?

Well, where I come from everyone I know who is a Jr. has the exact same name as the Sr.

Who makes these rules though?? I mean seriously?

I knew a guy whose name was actually Junior. Shouldn't that be illegal?

I don't mean that snottily or anything...It just seems pedantic. If you want to call your son Jr, who is to say that is wrong?

You are correct HotPink.

Adam was nicknamed Jr. in Kansas...i remember he said thatz what they call him...nothing to do with Victor being his father.....they just called him Junior.

Legally he is not a JR.,unless his name is Victor Christian Newman,
that's just the way it works..I don't know who makes the rules..its been that way all my life so far.....

But that is my point too though. If you have the same first and last name as your father, and people refer to you as Jr, who makes these rules that you are not technically a Jr?

What is up with that?

LOL if thats his legal FIRST name than KOOL. But we talking about being named after your father. to be a Jr., He has to be named exactly like his father. Example: Michael Anthony Jackson (father)..Michael Anthony Jackson Jr. (son)

If it's on his birth certificate, it's legal.

Thanks for the explanation, xx_jenn_xx. So, I'm guessing that's why, in today's show, he said my name is just Adam Victor Newman - he's not Victor Jr. after all.

IF you quizzeed the guy you would prob ably find out that he is named exactly for his father and goes by Junior- it happens- a lot-- ask him next time you see him

So what is the point of all this? Would the son sign that and have it as you printed above on his mortage documents and that sort of thing? And then when his dad dies you drop the Jr?

And what he Jr has a son and calls him Michael Anthony Jackson while the grandfather is still alive?

idk i didnt make the rules i just live by them. however, i would never name my son after his father anyways. but thats jus my choice.

But in order for him to have the "Jr" to his name, he MUST have the same first, middle & last name as his father.
