The Young and the Restless - MESSAGE BOARDS

I am so horribly disappointed in the Y&R writers. What did they accomplish by literally assasinating a potentially beautiful character. Are they so stupid as to believe we want to watch this kind of hack job to a character that we were all loving (not liking). What did they accomplish - I don't believe it. I can't even watch anymore. The only up side of this total abortion is that CE is magnificent. Do we really want to see him crushed into pumice. Why couldn't we enjoy a growing love between him and his family. I only hope that the these stupid, ignorant writers redeem his character somehow. Let's see Kevin was a pyromanic - now loved and accepted, Michael was a rapist -now loved and accepted, Jana a murderess - now loved and accepted - Gloria a murderess - now loved and accepted, Nick - a father betrayer - now love and accepted, etc. etc. etc. I am only hoping this idiots redeems my Adam and put him on the highest elevation he deserves. Please give him a break and give us a break REDEEM ADAM stop being jerks.

Yeah its very unfortunate,does not make sense they change his character so drasticly,he was raised by great woman like Hope and I was so impress by him when first time I saw him at the Farm/Kansas visiting Hope b4 she died,at least the writer can look at the root Adam supposed to be Great Character and has charisma not trashing him like this

Personally, I believe the writers are doing an excellent job. It's just that a lot of people wanted the cute farm boy to be just perfect. Only thing is, he's not the little farm boy anymore. The writers didn't let Adam get his education in business in Kansas State University, but at the reputable Harvard where some of the students are known to be snob, thinking they're smarter and better than everyone. The writers are giving Adam a lot of Jack, another Harvard graduate, and a lot of Victor as ruthless. CE is just perfect for this role, he has all the facial expressions to fit this cokcy character. And the Adam character has the potential to be one of the main characters for this show for at least 25 years. Better than Jack, and so ruthless that he's making Victor look like a choir boy. A lot of fans like both Jack and Victor, I can't see why Adam won't be able to get a large following too.

I somewhat agree. The thing is, this is one character you love to hate in this roll. So it is kind of hard to root for the guy - but I can't get enough of watching. It is so much fun to watch him be evil. But he is really good at playing the roll. Either way - I will keep watching how this totally unfolds.

Now we must see him turn into this seemingly cold hearted character b/c of what seems to be the fact he was deprived a life with his father growing up.

Adam seems to be very angry inside & hurt b/c he finds out on his mother's deathbed who his real father is. It was like he lost 2 parents at once. He lost the mother he knew all his life and he met the father he never knew. I could understand the grudges, animosity & bitterness that he must be feeling...But wouldnt he want to make his father proud by doing the right thing & what he would have wanted him to do. It was all stated in that letter...if he wasnt sure before that.

Now if he would have handled it a little differently than i wouldnt be so suspicious of him...He should have left well enough alone, dont fire Neil for one. He can still be in charge w/o all the coldness. Just b/c Vic was alot like that, doesnt mean he should be. Thatz y i believe the reason y he is acting like this is b/c he THINKS this is how his father would have done things....And for that reason, he believes Vic would be very proud of him. So i suppose Jr. has a good reason for being like this...lets see what happens after Vic disowns him...IF Jr was smart he would do whatever it takes to right his wrong. But i do not think this is where the writers are taking his character...

New Teams: Jack/Adam/Brad........Vic/Neil/Nick.

Its more like he has the "only child" syndrome. I don't mean to be critical of single children, but I have seen that side in some where they don't want to "share". Regardless if it is with other people or newly founded "family". It is possible - that although Hope only had him, she spoiled him and we didn't get to see that part.
