I remember a thread that was started that sounded just like this one only about the character Sharon. It was closed and, labeled I believe bating, and that people didn't have to justify their feelings. I am going to go back into the Sharon thread and find out if I can. I think it was started by Allspice, and I remember she was very upset about it being closed.
I'm wondering why this one is running.

And you find that inappropriate...hmm how so?? They are both adults...that's seems normal to me!!!

Phyllis used to be the life of this show along with Dru but now all I have to look forward to is Nikki/Victor drama for the millionth time!!!

Bring back Dru and then Phyllis will get her FIRE back

I only started to notice the hate after the affair....just sayin

That is certainly when my feelings toward the CHARACTER of Phyllis changed. Before that I liked her. Now I don't particularly.

Please don't bash attributes that are shared by both character and actor.

I totally disagree with this statement. As a long time viewer, this show has always had very strong intelligent women at its core. And Phyllis, Heather and Jill aren't the only intelligent women. While I agree that a few of the characters are weak, by in large, all characters add to the content and s/ls of the show.
And I don't see any indication that these actresses will get the boot because they're characters are "strong". What does one thing have to do with the other? I see no connection what-so-ever.
Lastly, I would never presume to know what the producers of the show are thinking as far as the actors they employ.



That scene of Nikki on the beach is so offensive it is sickening. Women write this garbage? Actually the men don't fare much better. They are arrogant, jerks. These new writers are so bad they should be banned from ever writing another TV show. Y&R is very vulnerable and thanks to big mouth reporters like Nelson Branco telling everyone about the war that is going on behind the scenes and with the actors. The other shows are aware of how bad things are. If GH (which I have started watching) put on first rate story lines for sweeps, many Phyllis/PHICK fans and others who are drifting away are theirs for the taking. I wish MS would leave and go to GH. She could introduce a hot new character there!

I think for the most part all the actresses do a wonderful job. Phyllis's character is such that we love to hate her. I like her much better away from Nick.
Nikki's scene on the beach was great. I may be in the minority but I liked the whole thing with her and Victor with the exception of the last part when she went after him. However even that could be somewhat realistic in such a broken and vulnerable, guilt filled time in someones life. I just hope now the writers will write her as a stronger woman with new resolve.
