So You have cerebral palsy and problems with writing? That´s OK, Spell so well than you can, that´s good enough to me.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is an umbrella term encompassing a group of non-progressive, non-contagious conditions that cause physical disability in human development.
Cerebral refers to the affected area of the brain; the cerebrum (however the centers have not been perfectly localized and the disorder most likely involves connections between the cortex and other parts of the brain such as the cerebellum), and palsy refers to disorder of movement. CP is caused by damage to the motor control centers of the young developing brain and can occur during pregnancy (about 75 percent), during childbirth (about 5 percent) or after birth (about 15 percent) up to about age three.
It is a non-progressive disorder, meaning the brain damage does not worsen, but secondary orthopedic difficulties are common. There is no known cure for CP. Medical intervention is limited to the treatment and prevention of complications arising from CP's effects.
Onset of arthritis and osteoporosis can occur much sooner in adults with CP. Further research is needed on adults with CP, as the current literature body is highly focused on the pediatric patient. CP's resultant motor disorder(s) are sometimes, though not always, accompanied by "disturbances of sensation, cognition, communication, perception, and/or behavior, and/or by a seizure disorder".
CP is the second-most expensive developmental disability after autism to manage over the course of a person's lifetime (second to mental disabilities), with an average lifetime cost per person of USD$921,000 (in 2003 dollars). The incidence in the six countries surveyed is approximately an average of 2.12–2.45 per 1000 live births;there has been a slight increase in recent years. Although improvements in neonatal nursing help reduce the number of babies who develop cerebral palsy, they also mean that babies with very low birth weights survive, and these babies are more likely to have cerebral palsy. disability or do you think anyone ask for any kind of disability i think not.

Don't let the haters get to you. I think you're one of the best posters on this board. I enjoy reading your post. What I am tired of is the "know it all's" on this board. You know the one's who has been watching Y&R for 80 years , and want to jump all over you when you have a speculation.

Good Grief..let me address this Thread..since I mentioned the copy and pasting...I post on soapcentral....and I noticed two of the threads were copied from over there so i asked him...cats meow brought up he had MS then he corrected her and said he has CP...

Now: GCAC ...when u wrote your own threads I thought they were always good.....some posters on here use to tease you how u spelled...i think that's why you quit writing your own...I didnt tease u about your spelling....and your last post about adam..I didnt say your thread was HOGWASH either..that was someone else...so if you feel like I abused you because i questioned to why you copy and pasted a fellow posters thread on another board...then so be it....but if you are talking about the posters that always make fun of your posts because they way you type on your own...or your story line ideas...then i understand....but i was no way abusing you....
Your threads you use to write on your own were great....the only abuse i have seen towards you ....were from other posters....

I don't think I ever saw any mean posts directed toward you GCAC about your words or your spelling. Now you know, people have different opinions on things and might not agree with you, but we all get that from time to time. Just have to develope a thick skin. I was called a LIAR and Mrs. soaps.com, know-it-all last night. Hurt my feelings, but I'm not going to let a cranky, snotty poster keep me off the board. You just keep posting and having fun - like I said, it's just a soap msg. board, not the US Constitution.

don't leave the board gcac. we do not care about your typing. mine is awful! just ignore anyone who is rude to you. i read your post when i see them come on, having cp makes your input even more important because it brings us a perspective from a point of view we do not see. i hope you stay on board

Candace, I wonder if the 'bad post' button works a lot of the time.

GCAC, this past Sunday a new poster Hope05 started a thread called "mean people suck"...she got quite the (positive)responce. She too had a complaint on how she felt treated by some posters. I guess it just goes to show you 1. mean people do suck and 2. it doesn't matter if you have a disability, are abnormal, come from saturn, have a pierced nose...mean people are around every where, including this site. BUT, that being said, there are also some VERY nice people out there...find those people react to those people. I enjoy reading your posts...please stay, connect with Hope05 and me and some others here, that give our opinion on the soap and not our opinion on your personal being. And give snizzle a chance....she is QUITE funny.
