Quote Lizzylew: Hi all you young-uns! I just turned 66 and the irony of it is, I don't feel old and don't want to be old. So I hang out with young people (hope you don't mind). I use to say...when I hit 40 I started putting brush fires out all over my body; at 50, they were bonfires; and at 60 the great conflagration! God only knows what 70 will be (Good Lord willing). I have survived several surgeries, though, three children, two stepchildren, six grandchildren 23 to 10 months, several jobs, a detached retina, weight gain, lost 4 of my 5 siblings and I'm still here! Wish I had been around for the TV/DVR discussion also, but I do absolutely love Brothers and Sisters and Boston Legal. Timely issues, humor and love. My daughter has been involved in a message board for years and she feels such closeness to all of the people there. I think this is a great idea! Thanks for starting this gommmie! Sorry about your ankle, Bolin. I have never broken a bone! Amazing.

My goodness Lizzylew!! Sounds to me, like you have had a less than boring life!!! I'm really proud of you! I am going to turn 66, in July, and I am pooped most days. But, I feel young and try to keep up, as best I can! I was a Dance Teacher, for a long time, and a weight trainer too! And, then I worked as a property Manager, for a while with my hubby! We had a lot of fun working together. Started as a bartender. That's where I met him. He was drinking and throwing darts, in a competitive league, and I was working!!!!!!!! HaHa!...Oh, Hubby and I love Boston Legal, and I watch Brothers and sisters! We also have more in common! I have 3 kids and 5 steps!! And, 16 Grandkids total! Plus I've survived many surgeries, Cancer and Cardiomyopathy.Long long story!

Good morning, Uggerly,
Wow! We are vintage! I had to laugh when you said your husband was "throwing darts". I recently called my daugher in Vermont and she said she was at a Darts Awards Banquet! I never knew there was such a thing...I do lead a sheltered life on some level. LOL I haven't had cancer or cardiomyopathy; kudos to you for being a survivor. I am walking in a 24-hr. Relay for Life in Augustm and have done Susan Komen as well.

HEy you guys!
Both my parents are in their 60's and I never think of them as Vintage. However, you want to hear ironic? My parents have been divorced for almost 33 years and I have a wonderfull step_mother. The ironic bit is at the begining of last week I found out my mother has an abnormality in her breast and is waiting results on that ( she already survived ovarion cancer 10 years ago) then on Friday I learned my dad is being tested for colon cancer in a couple weeks. It wqas a crazy week. I am praying for the best in both cases but it has been one of lifes reminders to cherish every moment and treat your self and others well. I have been reading through and there is always a strange comfort in knowing other people surrive tough times too. Thanks for sharing. You never know how your words can give another comfort and strength.

Well Survivor is over
I'm a reality TV junkie. Amazing Race should be starting up soon. Anyone watch that? Hell's Kitchen is one of my favorites. I'm a pretty good cook but I wouldn't survive Chef Ramsey for more than two mins. lol

It's nice chit chatting with you all. I'm pretty much homebound. I look forward to my "stories" and my buds here. Cheers!

Oh no...its over? I was just going to start watching last night!!!!!!!I am not familiar with Hell's Kitchen-ceot the one I run here

In what general area do you live Molli?

Awe, you say that and I think shopping and an endless selection of amazing restaurants. Can you imagine I have never been to N.Y? You just gave me an idea, maybe that would be a nice 3 or 4 day get away for my boyfriend and I this summer.

Tilo so sorry to hear about your cancer scares in your family. I will put you on my prayer list (yes!!! it does help.) On the funny side of this story is that my second husband and I have been married 37 years and my step children are wonderful. And, oh yes, my husband's ex is my best friend! I think we initially supported each other for the kids involved and it evolved from there.

Thank you for the prayers, I have total faith that they work too. That is very funny because my mother and step mother ( after years of silly bickering) are now best friends. It sure makes my life a LOT easier and brings joy to everyone.

Both your parents are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for sharing — we're all in this together and prayer is indeed the way to get through it all.
