Good morning all! I'm back after a wonderful Mother's Day.
Three of my four daughters were with me and a son-in-law. My other daughter and her family live out of town and weren't able to make it home. Darn, they're the ones with grand-kids. Oh well it was still wonderful. One of my gifts was a spa day with my second oldest daughter. I've never been to one, so I'm looking forward to it. Someone made the comment that with four girls my husband must have been overcome with estrogen..Yeah, poor guy. At certain times of the month he just tried to disappear. Then when our first grandchild was also a girl he said, It figures. We finally did get a grandson though. He's 3 months old and a real cutie. I really love this thread! I really enjoy getting to know more about my fellow fans. Hope you all have a great day.

We've had weird weather lately, colder and snowier winter than usual. We live very far south in the state so winters aren't usually too harsh. Spring has been cool and wet. Summers are usually hot and humid, fall, very colorful. Not too bad all in all.

Sounds pretty much like here, except our winters can feel long sometimes. I assume most of us are from Canada or the U.S.

Good Morning, Mamabing! They say experiencing difficult times makes us stronger. It is difficult going through them and I guess the obstacles are placed in our path so we can really appreciate the good. I know the support of friends and family means so much, so please consider me a source of support.

Cool your a young grandma. I am sorry about the tetnus shot. I am 36, studying to be a sommelier ( thats someone who studies wine and works with wine...oh and drinks wine...LOL) If anyone wants any suggestions on food and wine pairing or has any wine questions feel free to ask.

Quote Lizzylew: Hi all you young-uns! I just turned 66 and the irony of it is, I don't feel old and don't want to be old. So I hang out with young people (hope you don't mind). I use to say...when I hit 40 I started putting brush fires out all over my body; at 50, they were bonfires; and at 60 the great conflagration! God only knows what 70 will be (Good Lord willing). I have survived several surgeries, though, three children, two stepchildren, six grandchildren 23 to 10 months, several jobs, a detached retina, weight gain, lost 4 of my 5 siblings and I'm still here! Wish I had been around for the TV/DVR discussion also, but I do absolutely love Brothers and Sisters and Boston Legal. Timely issues, humor and love. My daughter has been involved in a message board for years and she feels such closeness to all of the people there. I think this is a great idea! Thanks for starting this gommmie! Sorry about your ankle, Bolin. I have never broken a bone! Amazing.

My goodness Lizzylew!! Sounds to me, like you have had a less than boring life!!! I'm really proud of you! I am going to turn 66, in July, and I am pooped most days. But, I feel young and try to keep up, as best I can! I was a Dance Teacher, for a long time, and a weight trainer too! And, then I worked as a property Manager, for a while with my hubby! We had a lot of fun working together. Started as a bartender. That's where I met him. He was drinking and throwing darts, in a competitive league, and I was working!!!!!!!! HaHa!...Oh, Hubby and I love Boston Legal, and I watch Brothers and sisters! We also have more in common! I have 3 kids and 5 steps!! And, 16 Grandkids total! Plus I've survived many surgeries, Cancer and Cardiomyopathy.Long long story!

Good morning, Uggerly,
Wow! We are vintage! I had to laugh when you said your husband was "throwing darts". I recently called my daugher in Vermont and she said she was at a Darts Awards Banquet! I never knew there was such a thing...I do lead a sheltered life on some level. LOL I haven't had cancer or cardiomyopathy; kudos to you for being a survivor. I am walking in a 24-hr. Relay for Life in Augustm and have done Susan Komen as well.

Well, this is great news since Oregon has over 700 wineries. We've only lived here two years (from Vermont) so we have quite a few winery visits in store. I love the idea of wine pairings. That sounds like such a neat job!
